While there's lots of blame to go around, lawmakers are likely to focus on how to rein in lenders, brokers, appraisers and, not insignificantly, mortgage investors.
Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) last week proposed a predatory lending bill. That bill is geared toward permanently expanding mortgage borrower protections and weeding out unscrupulous lenders.
Wonder if it will weed out Country Wide?

Dodd is also famous for having an affair with a Sandanista intelligence officer.

Dodd has never done an honest day’s work his entire life.

What’s the old saying??? We are ALL EQUAL, but some of US are MORE EQUAL than OTHERS. I am no big fan of TERM LIMITS… But, the way VOTERS keep returning some of these IDIOTS to Washington, now may be the time to change my mind…

Let me get this straight:

1. If you’re anonymous Joe Schmoe you don’t get sweetheart deals for your home’s mortgage. Check.

2. If you’re somebody who’s a politician, rich, famous or Chris Dodd, you will get an automatic gimme from Countrywide. Check.

3. If you’re said politician…. oh, I don’t know, Obummer or Dodd, you can rail against Countrywide and the subprime industry while getting sweetheart real estate/mortgage deals. Check.

4. If you’re the old media, such hypocrisy is not news. If it happened to somebody with an R next to their names or are Conservative, it is news. Check.

Lesson: Do as I say, not as I do… right, Dems?
