I was looking at that Chris Matthews interview you did Michelle, I think you were thrown off by that other guy with the real annoying voice. You know whatshisface.
Does any one besides me find it disgusting that keith olbermann is the goto guy on msnbc for whole Tim Russert passing? I mean Tim was THE consummate journalist and msnbc gives the ball to this repugnant piece of crap for hours on end.
I couldn’t watch or listen to olbermann for 2 minutes let alone the hours and hours he was ranting. Keith is THE bottom of the heap when it comes to journalists. How said it is and also what an insult it is to Tim that msnbc lets keith do the eulogy.

Olbermann was pathetic on Friday. He tried to attach himself to every reminiscence from Tim’s colleagues. One that really stood out was with Kelly O’Donnell. She was remembering how Tim would always call her “K.O.” and close his emails to her with, “Go get ‘em, K.O.”. Olbermann said that since they had the same initials he was often a recipient of the same greetings. I wanted to yell at him through the TV to STFU.
There was something that really struck me about this morning’s Meet the Press. Mary Matalin and James Carville are absolute bulldogs when it comes to their politics. They are as passionate and hardcore about it as humanly possible and their politics couldn’t be more opposite. And yet, you saw them sitting there, holding hands, choked up about their friend. I started thinking about how brutal and nasty the political discourse is and thought that maybe there’s a little lesson to be learned in Mary and James’ relationship.
Or maybe I’ve had too many beers. One or the other.

Good post. I tend to respect reporters who just give me the facts. I have no need for those who insist on making themselves the story.
As for Chrissy Matthews’ psychosis, I believe his perpetually pathetic need for acknowledgment(always reminding the viewer about what a brilliantly capable tough guy he really, really is) stems from his decision to avoid military service by joining the Peace Corp as a young man.
Packing a travel bag for trade development advisory in Swaziland while his friends shipped off to Vietnam must have been a difficult decision in 1968 for a self-acknowledged “tough, street-smart kid from the streets of Philadelphia.”
Hopefully, his decision to accept a patronage job as an armed guard on Capital Hill soothed his apparently damaged “machismo” when he returned from overseas, as many of his Philadelphia brothers didn’t.
I just get the sense that Matthews’ current facade was forged during this pivotal crossroads in his life.
But I may also be wrong.

How fitting that this puke matthews gets all randy for obama, the future Carter Redux, when he wrote speeches for Carter years ago. Chrissie does seem well qualified for a position he longs for as US Senator from Pa. since he’d fit in with the rest of the pontificating, preening, self-aggrandizing pond scum of that august, oh-so-collegial body.
It is beyond me how this blowhard clown commands millions for his ranting and general buffoonery. But then I wonder the same about Olberdouche, Jerry “Spit” Rivers and O’Reilly.
Chris Matthews is an embarrassment to all Irishmen everywhere. In my opinion, he is continuously rude, ill informed, manipulative, stupid bordering on dishonest, creepy in a Clinton type of way, and enjoys damaging the reputations of good people.

I know this is a fruitless question, and don’t expect a response, but what specifically has Chris Matthews done to “decent” people that will make this world a better place when he’s gone? Specifics please, and names and examples of the “good people who’s reputations he’s damaged.”

I’m shocked, shocked that anybody would expect anything more from Matthews. Maybe now Democrats will see him as a viable Senator. Why with the politicization of tragedies, what else would you expect from leftist.
Chris Matthews is really an obnoxious but pathetic fellow. It was only a few months ago that Matthews actually bragged that he and Pat Buchanan were tough street kids who fought their way through the public schools. Matthews bragged that he grew up in South Boston and he had fist fights constantly on the way to school. Matthews contrasted that with neocons like Bill Kristol who were soft intellectuals who didn’t get down and dirty on their way to school like Chris Matthews. So I decided to do a little research on Matthews. As it turns out, he was draft age in the VietNam war era but maneuvered his way into a cushy peace corps assignment. Maybe the only danger that Matthews ever had was some bananas or maybe coconuts falling on his head while he napped in his hammock. And incredibly he speaks of himself as a veteran. He actually talks about people who went into the military or the peace corps as if the two things are remotely comparable. As to Matthews claim that he was a street fighter who brawled his way through the streets of South Boston, there is no arrest record for Chris Matthews. Those street fights Matthews says he specialized in were apparently soft as a feather. There should be a movie called “Chris Matthews Big Adventure”. Maybe PeeWee Herman is available to play Chris.
I don’t know anyone who watches Matthews. Maybe his audience is comprised solely of himself & his leg.
The only notoriety he will ever acquire will be that he had a show that no one watched.
There are no MSM “newspersons” to whom one might any cred. They have lied constantly and they have defamed many with lies and slanders, and they constantly feed the most base of human motives. They degrade, they feed the degraded more degradation.
So many of the innocent they have ruined, and even blood — for every anti-tank rocket, every IED, every sniper who kills our loved ones has been supported indirectly and emboldened directly by the lying culture of the MSM. Were we as one against the terrorist, there would be far less blood spilled.
Russert was class among the crass only in the way a soft-core pornographer is class among the hard-core.

A friend’s daughter graduated from Stetson Law School in St. Pete, FL, a few months ago. Believe it or not, Matthews was the guest speaker. His whole speech was about him, who he knew, who knew him, how important he was. When the grads and parents went into the reception area, there was a table with a huge poster of Matthews who was using the occasion to hold a book signing. My friend was livid. After visiting with parents, etc., my friend went to find the dean to complain how inappropriate AND offensive that was, didn’t see anyone, but when he walked through the reception area a moment later, there was no sign of Matthews or his books. Someone must have sent Matthews a message and he left. What a piece of work he is. The grads were left scratching their heads…what was THAT all about–when it should have been a time of great encouragement and congratulations, Matthews used it as a means to promote himself. I have no use for that man as a “journalist” or other.
I, for one, am sick of all tributes to Tim Russert, discussions of his fairness, humility, fairness etc… This has gone on about 2 days longer than necessary and is approaching the “Paris Hilton goes to jail” media frenzy. Any news show that I am watching or listening to that even brings this up this week will instantly get turned off.

I had the same reaction as you watching Jimmy and Mary grieve for Tim. I remember many times when they would bring their girls to the show and it was obvious that Tim thought that was great. Matthews is and has always been a jerk. We should try not to remember Tim based on what he and others have to say, but from our own memories. Perfect? No. A good man? Without a doubt and that should transcend politics.
That Keith Oberman and Chris Matthews have jobs above janitor speaks volume about PMSNBC and just how utterly useless the MSM is. That someone hasn’t knocked the punks teeth down their throats says too much about us.
I must admit that the Russert memorials are getting a little old. I am sure he was a good man and such, but he was just a man.

You ask a person a question and then interrupt them before they have a chance to answer. It is annoying and it is pisspoor journalism.
