Dodd knew since 2003
The question is no longer “How stupid does Dodd think we are?” The question is: How stupid is he?
Countrywide’s homeboy crawls out from under his bed to admit that he knew he was a VIP. But he’s still denying he knew he had received special breaks on his loans.
Via Roll Call:
Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) said Tuesday that he has known since 2003 that his mortgage with Countrywide Financial was designated a “VIP” account, but continued to deny allegations he received any discounts when he refinanced two loans.

Chris Dodd…….POS!
1993 or 2003. The headline and the story is a little different. 2003 is plenty bad enough for the POS Senator that used to party with the Massachusetts DWI Killer and grope minimum wage waitresses as DC bars and restaurants…
Check your headline…
oxymoron – ethical democrat
Doesn’t surprise me at all. The same with former Sen. Sam Nunn who co-authored a bill which at the federal level deregulated commodities trading so such wonderful investments like “credit default” futures were traded will-nilly along with collateralized debt securities (CDOs).
These types of investments were able to slip through S&P and Moody’s bond rating service and other financial checkpoints in the economy and end up inside “safer” investments without people being aware of what they really were and their potential default implications with investment portfolios (it takes someone with a math degree to handle credit default swap futures type of derivative investment, something for which Moody’s admits to)–hence the current credit crisis.
Dodd and Kennedy sexually assault a DC waitress – aka ‘The Waitress Sandwich incident’
Liar Liar pants on fire.
Dear Dodd, you were a VIP person, but you didn’t get a discount rate? My little gray cells are going nuts on this one. Now, surprise, I do not believe you, how’s that?
L
Revive the Dodd for President Campaign. We need a President who KNOWS the mortgage industry!
This isn’t the special Countrywide loan that I recall…..
We are well past the timeframe that Democrats would be on the steps of congress screaming for an investigation and weilding ropes.
WHAT’S NANCY’s PROBLEM???
Oh, and looks like Dodd is telling 2 stories and gaming the media
Tipper, Nancy IS the problem.
I haaaaaaate liberals.
This, in itself, is an admonition that he considers himself “important.” Let him conitnue to hide, and obfuscate. We will be able to address him as Senator Dodge;
Duke of Denial,
Knight Order of the Belt(way),
or let him add HRH to his appellation.
He will still be allowed to surround himself with his Court Jesters, just like any other Royal.
Of course, his fellow members of the Senate will protect him, for as goes that Senator, so goes the others. Let’s see if Congress’ approval rating can dip below 10.
I propose that an impartial panel, with full investigative powers, be appointed by the President, to look into all the private dealings of these elected officials. We can call it The Presidential Oversight Panel on Congressional Hypocracy and Lawlessness. Let’s see how they like it for a “change.”
Gee Whiz…If you can’t get special treatment, what’s the point of being a VIP?
As a Ct resident, I hope this exposure unravels his career. Dodd has never done a honest day’s work his entire life. He’s been living like a prince on someone else’s dime his entire, drunken, woman chasing, worthless life.
Did he think that VIP meant they were processing his loan papers ‘faster’ than those without that status? OMG.. I’m with those above asking for a special investigation.
This looks pretty serious. It’ll probably cost him at least 10-12 votes come election time. It’s a good thing he didn’t do anything serious like call somebody “macaca” or become a Republican.
Maybe it’s the hair. Maybe you just can’t trust a socialist that uses our tax dollars for a hair stylist.
He is my Senetor. I have met him a couple times. Go with he is an idiot.
Countrywide was the golden child of the Dems in the 90’s. They made thousands of bad loans and sold them to FannieMay. Now we are picking up the check on the deal thanks to Doddddd and his buddies. This is the tip of the ice berg.
Wow, I’m truly shocked by this news/sarc off.
I got an idea for a federal jobs creation program… build nice green environmentally friendly gallows.
We just need to pass one law first. ” Any elected official found guilty of taking a bribe hangs”.
Now who would dare vote against that?
Riiiight. He thought it was his Brad Pitt-like good looks that got him into the VIP program.
DouchebagTurd sandwich. In this case, maybe VIP stands for Vilified Ignorant Prat.
That’s a change (in definition) that I can believe in.
I did not have sex with that woman……….er……ah….cough….I didn’t know how to spell VIP
Not a question of Dodd being stupid but the people that continue to vote for him.
Maybe we need to start having members of Congress/Senate fill out weekly questionnaires where we ask them if they have done anything we feel may “taint” their exemplary records. They would be completely anonymous – no name needed – then they could drop them all in a basket.
After such, someone would read them all over the weekend and then on the following Monday address the House/Senate regarding all of the less-than-appropriate actions noted in their review. It would go like this: “The three of you that took sweet-heart loans from Countrywide Financial (as VIPs)…you better fix that now….you know who you are.”
If they want to act like children and shun their charge for personal responsibility then surely we can treat them like children, yes?
I guess we know whose picture we will find in the dictionary when looking up the definition of a lying crapweasel.
To be serious I do feel sorry for the good citizens of Connecticut that are poorly represented by this loser.
Boomer, they will vote his butt back in no matter what. The stupid love them self more than the rest of the world.
Now Congress has something worthy of a public congressional investigation. I have never thought it important for Congress to see what Roger Clemens may or may not have injected into his butt nor do I think it is the task of the Congress to investigate the New England Patriots. But I do think it worthy if some valiant Senator or Congressman calls for public hearings on the conduct of those in power taking favors from those they regulate. That would be a worthy use of our tax dollars.
“love themselves” Maybe I should vote for the porkwad.
Where is liberal excuse commission nyk, lgm, rusty, and mjustice?
Hey JT,
They are with all the other liberal spank blankets.
Its hard for them to keep their snooty ‘better than thou’ noses in the air when they have their heads up their butts.
Dodd knows that We are Stupid.
His consituents keep re-electing his sorry a$$!
Ohh ohhh – look out – they seem to have that 300 billion bailout scheduled for a vote tomorrow – dont let your eyes off the target!
My question is: is he an out of touch, stupid, naive Democrat or is he a corrupt, opportunistic, weasle Democrat? It is so hard to tell at times.
This jerk demonized the mortgage origination industry all the while he was getting special treatment from Mozillo the industry’s biggest dirt bag.
He needs to go.
Spoken by Dodd like a true Brooklyn Bridge salesman.
Hey jsr,
I vote for weasel. He looks like a weasel.
The more sanctimonious they are, the more likely it is they are a crook instead of out of touch and stupid.l
Dodd is a leader.
He can do no wrong.
/sarcasm off.
let me get this straight, he’s on the banking committee and he doesn’t know he is locking in a rate that lower, way lower, than the national average? Riiiigggt.
So since countrywide holds my mortgage, does that mean I got to pay a higher rate so the “VIP’s” could pay a lower one?
Is this what Obama means when he talks about rich getting richer? I thought the dems were going to work for income equality….sounds like those rich folks getting rich again.
I dont see our resident trolls saying this is wrong of Dodd to do….why am i not surprised.
lgm, lets hear it. call wrong as it is in this case.
That’s 16 times.
Dodd is a moron. He should have to pay every dime back, fork over his pension, the whole 9, until its paid back. Let them go after him as hard as they go after normal people.
jsr-
He’s both. I’m from Connecticut and I know!
weekly lie detector tests.
“In the preceeding 6 months have you participted in; allowed actively or passively; benefited from directly or indirectly; have 1st-hand knowledge or indirect knowledge of bending, shading or creating laws, regulations, or influence to favor those whom you create laws to regulate. Please answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’,
Under the awareness that this is under the penalty of death by hanging w/o chance of appeal.”
Anyone improve this, please tell me!
(Yes, I know it violates all sorts of things, but I think this is still a step above pitchforks. Only one, though. I can dream my little dream of clean government. Next be the pitchforks…
BTW, my personal preference is a haying fork — think the painting of man&wife w/a pitchfork — manurefork’s tines are shorter, straighter, closer together and most importantly: duller!
Pitchforks & torches is where we’re going, on a bullettrain. Believe it!)

Let’s see….
Special VIP loans for senators.
Billion dollar bailouts to lenders from senators.
Any connection?
Chris Dodd VIP > Very Ignorant Punk
So Dodd knew since 2003, but did not know what it meant for him, Obviously he is too stupid to be the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Chairman.
