Truthfully, Bush belongs here as well. It is disgraceful that the president not only turned his back on these men, that the government spent $38 million in trying to prosecute them (the figure may be higher), but he also has turned his back on the border patrol agents charged with “murder”. Disgusting and disgraceful.

Congress is too weak to bring any action against Murtha. Instead, these Marines should sue Murtha for slander. While Murtha is tied up in court, his opponent, William Russell, will have ample opportunity to get the word out and take Murtha’s Congressional seat in November.

Khan #3 – Good point! I’ve been totally baffled at Bush not stepping in the Ramos and Compean case or Haditha. What a travesty on all counts. How can our border guards do their jobs when known drug smugglers can get away and the border guards get tried? Or our troops get tried for fighting a flippin’ war!

John Murtha should be tried and executed for treason. And he should be billed for the money these trials are costing! Make him pay first obviously, then execute him.

This reminds me of a patriot in Virginia, who, when asked what would happened if they captured Arnold, stated that they would cut off the leg that was wounded twice and bury it with full military honors; the rest they would hang. Murtha is a very good example of how power corrupts one so much, that he would betray the military/country to advance his own agenda and bank account.

What’s disgraceful to me is that several of these Marines’ careers are likely in the toilet even after surviving this ordeal. Their professional aspirations kaput, not to mention the likely millions in retirement pay lost over time as a result. Meanwhile, the outright malpractice on the part of these weasel politicians and “journalists” will likely go unanswered and they’ll be off scott free, with barely a mention in the papers let alone a footnote in the history books. I’d really like these weasels to face lawsuits for what they’ve done to these men.

Want to send Murtha a message? Mail him your old belts and shoelaces. Maybe he’ll do the rest and find a ceiling beam and rickety chair.

It is almost a disservice to Benedict Arnold to lump him with this modern set of traitors. At least at the time he served valiantly for the Colonial Army until his bitterness and urging of his loyalist wife and Maj Andree seduced him to the side of the British Crown, which considered all Americans as their subjects at that time.

The likes of Murtha, Durbin, Pelosi, Reid, etc. have all used their public trust as representatives of their States and districts to enrich themselves while slandering our all volunteer military and continue on a daily basis to undermine the founding principles of this Republic by pushing their Marxist/Socialist agenda. In a just world these criminals would be facing a firing party with an express ride to the 9th ring of hell as a fitting reward for their actions in this life.

The President has the dual role as Commander in Chief. Therefore he is very limited as to what he can say about any military trial or proceeding since it could be pointed to as undue influence by a superior which is grounds for a mistrial in the military world.

This is a long way from being over.

    Possible scenarios:
    1) the last marine is acquited and the drumbeat of “white-wash” begins
    2) the last marine is found guilty, in which case the MSM will trumpet its original indictments, and call the other seven cases a “whitewash”
    3) the MSM simply ignores this and invents another Quran in a toilet somewhere and presses forward with its agenda

In any case, the average voter will be subjected to a continuing leftward coverage of the matter and will be none the wiser.
