Just learned about thirty minutes ago, prominent cinematic special effects master Stan Winston died over the weekend. Time to prepare for a memorial movie marathon.

Yes, I did my grad work there. Upon visiting there last week for a conference I was able to juxtapose George Low’s Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded by Reagan on the same day Bush awarded his to the liberal deconstructionists. There was some other science medal awarded to Low by Barry Goldwater as well. It was a solemn moment I had with myself realizing how much things have changed.
