Boot Murtha: Support Bill Russell
I blogged about Bill Russell last fall (see here). It’s time for a re-introduction. He’s an Army vet, 9/11 survivor, and small business owner who is challenging smear merchant/corruptocrat Rep. John Murtha. I saw Russell at the fantastic Pennsylvania Leadership Conference last month (where the photo above was snapped). He is a staunch conservative, a true American patriot, and he deserves your support. If there were ever a time for the grass-roots to come together and help an underdog Republican candidate make a difference, this is it.

I don’t live in PA but I still made a donation. I am driven by 2 things. First to get conservatives in office and the second is my personal feelings about that scumbag Murtha.
Oh, and because I live in Ill-noise where socialism is king. I am sick of it.
This is one of those times I can cheer on the Army. As a former Marine, I am ready to strip Murtha of his status of Marine. He carries no honor.

That is the only context I use the word change. And that is a campaign promise.
Bill Russell is the real deal and don’t forget about all the other veterans running for congress on the Republican ticket. You might find one in your area.

BTW. Why was Murtha never prosecuted for ABSCAM? He should have been removed from office 15 years ago.

LTC Russell has been on our BTR shows 4 times and he truly rocks. I also had lunch with him in DC during the last Vets For Freedom event. He does indeed have a shot at defeating the Turd Murtha.
I wish Bill Russell the best in this pivotal election, but he has a hard task ahead; Murtha, like WV’s Byrd, is a one-man employment agency for the people in his district, making the job of unseating him very difficult.
I was watching “America’s Newsroom” on FOX earlier this morning and they were talking about the Haditha Marines being cleared. 7 down, 1 to go!
They played the video of that press conference where Murtha declared the Marines guilty of murder and blamed it on Bush’s War.
Then an interview with Col. Ollie North (USMC-ret.), who while discussing the facts of the cases with Megyn Kelly delivered a jab at Murtha’s military record. Something like the only fight Murtha saw was the one he ran from.
You think Allah has the video yet Michelle? It was only a couple of hours ago. Everyone who cares about the USMC would agree with the good Col.
Finally someone I can vote for…the money is on its way!

If I remember correctly Col. North said something like “the closest Murtha ever got to a firefight was hearing the noise from the other side of the hill” … or something along those lines …
I know that when he was in Viet Nam for his single tour from late 1966 to mid 1967 that Murtha was a Battalion S-2 Officer (Intelligence) and that means he spent all of his time on a base in the rear … wasn’t much action in the rear areas on the permanent bases except some occasional incoming rockets … sure weren’t any direct attacks and firefights by the time he was there … but somehow he got awarded 2 purple hearts and a bronze star … (sound familiar … as in Kerry-esque) … BTW … that was his only combat duty …
The MSM likes to claim he was in Korea … that’s BS … he enlisted in the USMC in 1952 and Korea was winding down and the Korean cease-fire was signed in 1953 … another misleading line of aggrandizement …
The Dems also like to claim he spent 37 years in the military … well … that is including all of his Reserve time … nothing wrong with serving in the reserves but that is not the impression they try to give people … he actually only spent a total of about 8 of those years on active duty …
I have just become aware of another GWOT veteran running for our state senate. These guys having successfully fought the war on Islamic terrorists are now coming home, and unlike previous generations, and much to the dismay of the liberals, they are running for office at all levels, to ensure that what happened in the wake of Vietnam does not happen again. Ladies and gentlemen this is truly the New Greatest Generation.

Just a Grunt. I absolutely agree. If the other 16 Vets running on the Republican ticket are anything like Allen West they are truly going to be the next Greatest Generation. Another shameless plug for Allen, he was also accused and relieved of his duty in Iraq, for what they called torture. All charges were later dropped in his case as well. but it finished his military career. You can find the full story of what happened on his website.

I served in the Army with William T Russell in Germany and Kosovo. He was a infantry officer who earned his Ranger tabs. Russell, while serving with the Big Red One as a Division Staff Officer had the opportunity to go on a mission with a Marine artillery section during the Battle for Fallujah, he always enjoys telling me(ex artilleryman) how he got to pull tail with the Marines. Russell is an honest, decent man, the kind our country needs to replace vermin like Murtha.
I thought I read something a while back that his candidacy ended, because the election officials told him he didn’t get something filed in time….or something like that.
But, if he is still in the running, that is great news!

I agree, Murtha has to go. We sent money two years ago to Diane Irey (I think that was her name). I so wanted her to win. Guess we need to find out if he’s doing anything or not.

In order to make real change, not the Ubama brand change, we must support this folks who throw their hats in the ring.
I cannot imagine a better Christmas present than Murtha, Durbin and a few, make that many, others heading for the unemployment line in 2009.

I absolutely agree oldcollegeguy. We need to be working hard to get these good guys in and a list every week or so to remind people of who the good ones are and who they are running against is a very good idea. I imagine that this would be up to Michelle though as this is her site. Michelle?
Read the “what I believe” link on his site. All republicans should have to sign an affidavit attesting to the same thing in order to run as an (R).
I don’t want to come across as negative, but do we really know that this guy is a true conservative? Think about it: has McCain cussed him out? Ever? Has McCain demanded he withdraw his ads? These are sure fire indicators that he is the real thing. But I don’t believe McCain has done so, so you have to wonder.
And what if dlkuzara is right and this guy is running his campaign the same way Fred did his? That would be bad. So maybe some caution is in order. That’s all.
As a former Pennsylvanian and an Army vet, it’s a pleasure to donate a few bucks to help Mr. Russell! Let’s hope he wins, which will show anti-military loudmouths like Murtha that there are consequences for their actions, and also help provide a conservative firewall to the inevitable flood of crap liberal legislation that will come from whichever candidate wins the presidency.
We sure as hell know Murtha is not.

I hope he is. But he is running against Murtha and that is good enough for me. Hell, in WWII we allied with Stain. So contribute I did.
