Sorry to say Mai Lai was indeed an unbelievable case of mass murder. Troops CAN get to that level of rage. I have been there. But the Officers and NCOs are suppose to stop it. Lt Calley not only did not stop it but seemed to join in.

There we soldiers there who did not participate and reported it. An American Army helicopter crew stopped it by dropping in between the civilians and troops, aiming a machine gun at Lt. Calley. Yet the anti-military liberal media blamed us all. Kerry.

It was a terrible blight on us all.

Although, firing a shoguns at Liberals might have a humour value to it….

That last is an interesting piece, in that it shoots .410. birdshot, has 5 barrels, holds 5 shells, (in an 4 around a central barrel). The barrels are of a regular pistol length, and with low-brass, even a woman can fire it. You twist the barrel section to designate the firing barrel — except the final, (1st?) set where one side & the central barrel fires. According to my mother, it was a “genteel” weapon for self-protection used by the lady traveling unchaperoned.

I’ve tested it with modern loads, and then had it x-rayed for cracks & stress. I’m afraid to reload to higher than standard loads. The barrels have a slight choke, but I wouldn’t trust it beyound 40′ — but that’s me.

The nice thing about this is I have it registered *as a pistol*, which it is. I did this after a friend of my wife, a Reservist in Security Services who’s a cop at his other job suggested it. He said that some places we might PCS to might try to label it a sawed-off shogun. He said that if I fought it I’d get it back — providing it wasn’t “lost” or melted in the interum.

It is so infuriating to think of this case (Haditha) and how fast the left, Drive-By media and surrendercrat politicans were willing to convict these Marines and others in the US military, particularly senile old Murtha.

…at the same time these fools have been DEMANDING due process for those at Gitmo.

…and in the case of Obama, access to US courts by Bin Laden with a likely presumption of innocence.

Terrorists were getting due process, in front of military judges, yet radical leftist law hacks were not getting rich from that.
