Inside McCain’s closed-door meeting with Chicago Hispanics
Scroll down for updates…Rosanna Pulido of the anti-amnesty group, “You Don’t Speak for Me:” “He’s one John McCain in front of white Republicans. And he’s a different John McCain in front of Hispanics.”
Last night, John McCain met with a carefully screened group of Chicago-area Latino voters. The town hall was closed to the media. Several readers e-mailed an eyewitness account of the event. Here’s an excerpt:
I was one of the 150 people at the Drake Hotel in Downtown Chicago Wednesday night who came to hear John MC Cain speak to Illinois Hispanics.
I had e-mail in my request to attend after seeing an article in the news paper announcing this event.
This is what i received……….

…..Personally as an Original Minuteman who attended the Historic Minuteman Border Watch in 2005 on the Arizona/ Mexico border and returni[n]g 2 more times for a tour of duty along our southern Border, I was especially looking forward to what John Mc Cain would say about illegal immigration.
This was a NO MEDIA ALLOWED EVENT! That is why I am reporting back to you, all of you folks who have fought so hard with your phone calls to Washington D.C. last summer, shutting down the Washington DC switch board and defeating the AMNESTY BILL. I am reporting back to you those of you who work tirelessly in your local cities and towns trying to get some public elected official to care and enforce the rule of law.
I was told by my friend and fellow Hispanic Marianne Davies who is on the board of “You Don’t Speak for Me” that John Mc Cain has been going across the country having “PRIVATE” meetings with Hispanics.
Although the [invitation] said we would be able to ask questions, that “question ” time with John McCain never happened. That was ok with me, I never had the intention of asking a question, I knew exactly the kind of open borders crowd I was with.
John McCain’s favorite words of the evening were Comprehensive Immigration Reform. But he started out first of all saying if he is gonna win the Presidential election he will need the support of the Latino community.
He said ” My state has been enriched by the Hispanic culture in Arizona.”
Then John McCain asked a question “Did you know this? I bet some of you did not know that Spanish was spoken in Arizona before English” …Loud cheers from the audience. (Ok John McCain What is your AZTLAN POINT?)
Then he said “I want to have some straight talk about our relationship with Mexico, our closest neighbor and dearest friend” He talked about the Mexican President fighting the drug cartels.
Then John McCain aid the exact thing I came to hear, he said “I was proud to work for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and If I am elected President I assure you that in 2009 I will ask Congress to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” (The crowd goes wild) “It is a Federal Responsibility” he said and continued ” we also need a temporary guest worker program”
He then told a story about a day laborer who got picked up this morning, worked all day and then never got paid…We have no Federal Policy, we cannot allow this to happen, he said, He repeated I assure you that I will work for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
John McCain talked about a debate he was in about enforcing the law and he says that the “other side had a lot of “Rhetoric” “you know what I am talking about!” he said…
Yeah, we know what he’s talking about. All too well.

New York – The Republican candidate for the White House, Senator John McCain, promised that if he wins, a day after he is sworn in as a new president of the United States, he will pressure Congress to enact a law immediately in favor of immigration reform.
The candidate that appears today eight points behind his Democrat rival Barack Obama, did the pronouncement in an interview that he granted to the Hispanic newspaper La Opinion in Los Angeles…
McCain said that it is completely false that [he] has abandoned his original commitment to fight for reform for the more than 12 million undocumented immigrants that reside in the United States and that includes the failed proposal of President Bush, to secure the borders first.
“This reform will be a priority in my administration because it is a convincing federal responsibility”, added the contender of the Republican Party. “We will undertake immigration reform and on the day after my inauguration, I will ask Congress to reconsider it, although I believe that first we have to secure our borders, set in motion a plan for guest workers that works and to focus on the issue of the undocumented in a humane and compassionate way.”

Update: I’ve suggested before that McCain meet with the anti-illegal immigration Hispanic group, “You Don’t Speak for Me.” Rosanna Pulido is a member of the group. She speaks for me.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain assured Hispanic leaders he would push through Congress legislation to overhaul federal immigration laws if elected, several people who attended a private meeting with the candidate said Thursday.
Democrats questioned why the Arizona senator held the meeting late Wednesday night in Chicago. But supporters who were in the room denied that McCain held the closed-door session out of fear of offending conservatives, many of whom want him to take a harder line on immigration.
Both McCain and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama support giving legal status to millions of illegal immigrants, but neither has made the issue a centerpiece of the campaign. At one time, McCain’s campaign suffered because of his stance on the issue.
“This was not a secret meeting,” said Rafael Rivadeneira, a vice chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois, who was among more than 150 Chicago-area Hispanic leaders who attended. “There was nothing he said that they wouldn’t want people to hear.”
Other attendees said they were not so sure.
“He’s one John McCain in front of white Republicans. And he’s a different John McCain in front of Hispanics,” complained Rosanna Pulido, a Hispanic and conservative Republican who attended the meeting.
Pulido, who heads the Illinois Minuteman Project, which advocates for restrictive immigration laws, said she thought McCain was “pandering to the crowd” by emphasizing immigration reform in his speech.
“He’s having his private meetings to rally Hispanics and to tell them what they want to hear,” she said. “I’m outraged that he would reach out to me as a Hispanic but not as a conservative.”

A true politician. Never the statesman.
He speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He does not deserve to be president.
On FOX NEWS tonight at 6:00pm Barnes commented how troubling it was that McCain was only getting 80% of the republican vote. This is one reason why. This is also the very reason we do not donate to the McCain campaign or have any intention of voting for him.For the first time in my life I will not be casting a presidential vote.
Even as radical as Obama is and with all his questionable associations I won’t be surprised if he wins.
Cheney ‘08
LOTE>>>LOTE>>>>LOTE ANY__ONE????!!!!!
I think that it may be time for a revolution. No one at the federal level is listening. Our leaders have betrayed us too many times. To hell with them.
God help us. We can’t trust either one of these candidates.
Can ‘none of the above’ win?
With “La Raza” firmly rooted all across US, patriotic Americans will have to watch while Juan McCain pockets votes and campaign contributions from enemies all across America.
And this is Amrica’s “war-hero”. Go figure!
Someone needs to get an audio recording of the next event posted to the Internet…
And just the other day the McCainaanites were trying to say, “SEE! HE’S CHANGED!” Just because the guy paid some freaking lip service to the gullible. There will never be a day that I vote for John McCain. NEVER.
.
Closed meeting to pander to illegals?!?!
My outrage at this traitor is beyond words. I will vote Obama even if he picks Al Sharpton as his running mate. I will never…NEVER…vote for this traitor from my own side who is continuously knifing us in the back.
McCain is real piece of work. We all know Obama will do exactly the same the thing, grant amnesty to the law breaking invaders. Why would a Hillary supporter or an independent vote for this democrap wanna be (McCain) when they can vote for a true democrap like Obama?
As a conservative, I can not support a candidate who panders to law breakers. His proposal is just plain un-American.
Well ladies and gents it would appear no matter who is President there is going to be OPEN BORDERS…..I believe just as the last bill we can beat John McCain down but I do not believe we can beat down an Obama….I also believe we can fight that legislation in court when it passes….I HOPE WE CAN!!!
John McCAin is a lying liar and deserves to lose but WE don’t deserve a marxist like Obama…damn!@
I’m just going to move to Hong Kong. Flat tax, little asian chicks, drinks with the little umbrellas…
Jaded, yes, this is very frustrating. More like a nightmare.
So what you’re saying is that either way we’re screwed on immigration. Craptastic.
McCain dwindles down the reasons to vote for him. Staying in Iraq, hard-line on Iran, off-shore drilling, etc…but not immigration.
My suggestion: ten acres, grow your own food, raise your own critters, wait out the storm. But, just in case, keep your powder dry.
I cannot, and will not, vote for this man. For the first time, MY FRIEND, I will forego voting for the top of the ticket, but will vote the rest of the ticket. Sir John, it may be a federal responsibility, but you and your do-nothing cronies have usurped the rights of Americans long enough, we have read OUR Constitution, and know that the power is in US – not you. The one and only duty you have is to protect us and our borders from invasion – you have failed at this most basic function, and we will do what we have to do to do it for you.
Hang on Goldwater, let’s make it Bangkok, I have friends there.
Don’t forget: there are others on the ballot besides McCain and Obama.
Shamnesty can be defeated, and only defeated, by the same exact strategy that was used was last time — the republican base + allies from across the political spectrum who despise open-borders and will not submit to this kind of double-dealing.
I guess McCain still hasn’t quite got this internet thing, like all he had to do was say Sshhhh and not a word would have leaked out. How incredibly lame. This dishonestly and incompetence rules him at once out of court. How can we possibly trust this man? On anything?
All right, I’ll bite. Latino vote?
#12 Goldwater—HMMMI hadn’t thought of THAT!!!!
I will vote down ballot just not cast a presidential vote. There’s always someone in some race we support.
# 20 right_on
Gah, this is depressing.
Wow. An exclusionary meeting for “hispanics only” where he out and out admits that he is lying to the rest of us about illegal immigrants and border control.
Will there be a “blacks only” meeting at the NAACP where he promises “reparations?”
How about an American Indian only meeting where he promises a casino for every tribe?
Where does it stop? Rather, where does the lying stop?
The “straight talk express” is completely derailed.
The importance of the second amendment will become abundantly clear in the next five years.
As nauseating as the idea sounds, I wonder if I shouldn’t start looking at Bob Barr seriously.
And, CRIMINAL!
#25:
If it can survive the Supreme Court in the next few days or so.
I’m almost tempted to act like a Lib Dim-Wit and have two bumper stickers at the ready for January…

Impeach McCain
Impeach Odumbo
Still hoping for a do over before the do.
khan and espres12…I have never been into weapons. But I have a little piece of mess now. And I am planning on adding a few more items. SCOTUS can rule whatever they want, but once I have them, they can only be taken away by prying them from “my cold dead hands.”
Isn’t it possible that this story is a Democrat plant? I am not convinced it’s true.
This country is just about done as my grandparents knew it.
McAmnesty is going to going to have a special page in the future Meximerica history book, written in Spanish of course, as the “enlightened white imperialist” that rid the land of the evil European, and led the way for the re-conquering of the holy land for La Raza..
McAmnesty… may he rot in hell.
The fact that it can even sound plausible ought to be alarming.
Stupido McCain. Why waste his money on a meeting at the Drake Hotel in Chicago with any minority group? Like he has a chance in Illinois?
As for pandering, the guy is thick headed and he’s openly lying to us, not a surprise to anyone but we need to come up with some course of action so he feels our pain. Or just make sure we get a congress that won’t give in to him. I know, I know – impossible.
I would like to ask Mccain what the point of fighting a war overseas is when he refuses to defend the borders of the United States?
McCain is just reaching out to the other side.
I wish he’d reach out to me. I’m a conservative white American citizen.
sigh…
mngirl,
I think a lot of people have fantasies about a “course of action so he feels our pain.”
And ~thoughts~ are not crimes (yet). But people have to hold their tongues, because one must not advocate or even talk around any overt action to make him feel our pain. That would be wrong, don’t you know.
pardon me?
“Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” (The crowd goes wild) “It is a Federal Responsibility” ????
If the Federal Government actually kept up it’s responsibilities enforcing existing immigration law, there would be no need for immigration reform because immigration wouldn’t be an issue! IDIOTS!
Every time I start second guessing myself about McCain, he puts another knife in my back to remind me.
I’ve always found it wise to go with your first instinct, and in the case of McCain, it’s been a big fat NO right from day one.
Well Barack will just make them all citizens immediately, give them welfare and free medical sare and free college educations, tear down any fence that has been built and submit to the jihadis, institute the fairness doctrine, nationalize the energy sector, castrate the military and double taxation while making the Bush administration look fiscally frugal. So if that is what you idiots want then sit on your hands but if you do and this includes you Michelle, I don’t want to hear or read one freaking word of complaint for the next four years if Barack wins. You can forget about gun rights or free speech because Barack’s SCOTUS will strip them. So if you morons will like paying $10 a gallon for gas, triple in electricity prices with nukes going off in the US go ahead and sit on your little hands and shut your mouths, bow down and lick the hand that feeds you and being happy in the chains of servitude to a socialist state. You are not my countrymen to paraphrase Sam Adams.
“Game over man! Game over!”
McCain for all his faults is still far better than Pooh Bear Hopeness Obama
No he isn’t, #41.
Goats, no he is not. He is cut from the same mold.
goatsbarnyard,
Who you gonna hate worst? The enemy (obama) firing at your from across the way. Or the traitor in your own squad who is trying to knife you while you sleep.
I despise the traitor McCain and no scare tactics will ever convince me to lighten up on the bastard. Have a nice day.
It’s really sad watching as this dislike for McCain that has grown to hate, and now passing into derangement.
If you actually think that Obama, and everything that he will bring to his presidency is preferable to John McCain being the president.
Congratulations, Michelle.
On whatever it is you are planning. Because from the outside looking in, it really does look like it’s working.
Yawn.
Were So Screwed 08′
Then be happy living in a socialist economy with nationalized industry. McCain is at least a free market, anti porker, and supports nuclear energy and drilling of the coasts. Obama is a radical marxist and if you allow him to be elected then you are the traitor not McCain.
Because it sure seems like the democrat’s ‘operation chaos’ is boiling up to be a thousand times more effective against us than anything that was perpetrated onto them.
dreid -
It’s not a plant. I am going to see the woman who attended the meeting this Saturday at the pistol range.
Like I said if Obama is elected then I don’t want to hear one word of complaint from you McCain haters when your taxes go up, illegals are made automatic citizens and given all the socialists benefits of an Obama regime.
# 38 Every time I start second guessing myself about McCain, he puts another knife in my back to remind me.
I have a CONFESSION:
I ALMOST withdrew my LOTE because of M.Obama >>>>
You are SOOOO right…KNIFE OUT:
LOTE’S BACK
Well, he is killing any chance of conservatives changing their mind before election day. What is particularly troubling is how orchestrated this affair was-like something I’d expect from the Communists, and as of late the Democratic Party since the 1970s.
Frankly I am not even sure that if voting for him on getting a better Supreme Cort nominee than with Obama is even doable now. To say he would pick better justices than Obama is speculation. It would depend on how much we really influence things at the time.
And if we just hold our nose and vote for we will still be fighting him and dems all the time until we get in some conservatives in congress to couterbalance things our way.
If McCain is going to improve things he is going to HAVE TO SELECT A GOOD CONSERVATIVE AS VP RUNNING MATE AND SHOW US MORE AS TO WHY WE SHOULD VOTE FOR HIM AT ALL. The only bright spot is his flip-flop on drilling oil as of late.
It would also be nice to get a better idea nationally how conservative candidates for congress are doing this time around compared to 2006.-this part could really influence how things go for McCain in November (Conservatives voting for McCain knowing they have better counterbalance against his policies than in the past).
Having the backbone to offer up tough love for what was once the conservative party is far from treasonous behavior. It is patriotic behavior.
It is the kool aid drinkers like yourself who are betraying the country by accepting an unacceptable status quo in Washington. McCain and Obama are exactly what this country doesn’t need. I’ll accept an Obama Presidency if we can put the GOP on track by letting them know in no uncertain terms that we will not compromise our conservative principles.
I’ll take a person who adheres to principle anytime over one who has none and accepts harmful compromise.
You are exactly what is wrong with the GOP.
I consider you McCain haters far bigger traitors if Obama is elected than what y’all consider McCain to be.
Chuck Baldwin.
Barr is now another open borders moron.
No problem. I’ll consider you a traitor if either McMoron or Obama are elected.
He’e not, but he’s started pretending to be in an effort to get elected.
Understood, goat. But you can only call us names. We are not just calling McCain those same names, we are going to send the bastard to political oblivion.
Yeah. And that is different from what McCain will do, how?
Sorry Wise_Man, everything -including emotions -against McCain are McCain’s own doing…We are being left to figure out what to do with a consummate jerk who may well do nothing for us when we have to deal with a marxist-(leninist(s)) in the other party…this is why people here are steamed, I believe.
As for myself, Wise_Man I will put myself on the fence – for now -instead of outright opposition to McCAin.
So how is four years of an Obama regime with a socialist majority in Congress going to help the GOP? It would take decades to fix or reverse the damage Obama wou;d cause. We haven’t fixed the damage from the New Deal or Carter’s years yet.
Why, because you can’t believe that John McCain would ever say such things?
Maybe we will get lucky and have a military take over.
I think the real question is, how is four years of McAmnesty with a socialist majority in Congress going to help the GOP?
We’re going to get all the dreadful left wing policies from McCain and his “good friends”, and the GOP and conservatives will get the blame for them, same as happened under Bush.
PTN39, “only getting 80%?” I’m surprised he’s getting that much. And at the rate he’s going I doubt he’ll keep that much for long.
I think his only chance now is if those Hillary chicks are serious about voting for him.
Well, I knew this all along. Also, did you hear what McCain said to Clinton supporters about judges? Whne asked about his position on judges, he emphasised that he voted to confirm both GINSBERG and BREYER. This was also, I beleive, a closed door meeting. One democrat in the event said that McCAin’s position on gay marriage is like Kerry’s position in 2004. So, McCAin bots, what does this old man have to offer that is much different than BO? Oh, more time in Iraq so we can spend MORE BILLIONS on that God forsaken country that won’t even give us any oil contracts and wants to kick us out like dogs so they can join forces with Iran? HE is for amnesty, he will give us liberal judges (well my friends, I was elected to reach across the isle), cap and trade, i.e., destroy the US economy and HIGH taxes because of it, he is against overturning Roe v. Wade, he is against a marriage amendment, etc., etc. etc.
McCain votes free trade, at least claims to want border security, has never aasked for pork, he is darn goog about beating the jihadis and Obama is the opposite. Yuo tell me how he and Obama are the same?
This election is not like 2000 when I voted for GWB because I really supported the man, but rather voting for the lesser of two evils. Mc Cain is far from my dream candidate, but at least agree with him on some issues (2nd amendment, pro family, pro life, low taxes. Also, because of his age, he will most likely be a one-term president.
The reason the Democrats kick our butts often is we want our candidates to be 100% in line with our beliefs. The Left will take half a loaf while we on the Right want the whole bakery or nothing. This is how homosexual marriage, environmental extremism and out of control government entitlements came to pass.
A protest of sitting out the election or voting for a 3rd party candidate will not help the Conservative cause, rather help B. Hussein Obama become president.
It will make the GOP realize that they are not viable without their conservative base. There is no way do this except to fight McCain’s candidacy tooth and nail (as well as all RINO candidacies). Your approach only perpetuates the treason of the GOP against conservatives. Your way will only bring more elections like this one. Lost before it even started.
Yes regardless of who wins this election, the democrats have already won.
Here is the article about judges and McCain’s flip flop (i.e., LIES) on that as well. http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0608/McCain_meets_with_Hillary_backers_at_HQ.html
Obama is a radical marxist, if that is who you traitors want then sit on your little hands and shut up
On November 5, there will be a post mortum.
Why did MacCAmnesty lost.
After in-depth analysis, the findings will be released:
1. Core Republicans did not vote for him (his immigration stance too unpalatable).
2. Hillary supporters (mostly women) did not vote for him in large enough numbers.
3. Feingold, Kennedy and other co-sponsors of MacCAmnesty’s many lagislation partners worked to defeat him.
4. Everyone who wished to vote for Hussain Obama did (There was no black voter dienfranchisement this election cycle).
What will MacCamnesty do next?
Well, Presidential ambition is crushed (age not in his favor for 2012). So, he will show his true colors and start behaving as true liberal.
I have never considered him a maverick. A maverick would demonstrate his conservative principles on some issues while agreeing with the other side on some.
Hope somebody asks him this question: Why is it ok to drill off-shore, but not in ANWR? ANWR has more than 35 years worth oil by today’s consumption measures. That should give us enough time to invent and produce alternative energy in quantity large enough for the mass consumption.
If anyone thinks anybody other than McCain or Obama has a snowball’s chance in he|| of being elected President in November, you’re just kidding yourself.
McCain wasn’t my first or even second pick in the primary. By the time my top 2 were out, there wasn’t really any choice left at all, for me, since my state voted after #s 1 (Thompson) & 2 (Romney) had dropped out.
Sitting out or voting third party won’t help this country in the long run. If Obama is elected, we conservatives are going to have to fight him and a Democrat Congress on EVERYTHING. If McCain is elected, we know he’s not going to back down on the fight with the terrorists. That is my first priority. We’ll still have to fight him on things like illegal immigration, but I don’t believe we’d have to fight him on all fronts like with Obama. We need to keep Obama out of the White House and look ahead to regaining ground in Congress and cultivating future Presidential candidates for 2012 and 2016. I shudder to think what will happen to this country with Obama at the helm…
McCain is about beatig the jihadists? That is news to me. He wants to close GITMO and bring the rats here so they automatically get rights under our constitution, more than even the Supreme court already gave them. He also is against waterboarding these scum, he considers that torture. How is he and how has he been tough? Also, where was he in the senate when Clinto slashed the military? OOOOH, he was reaching across the isle.McCain tough, PPPPLLLEEEEEAAAASEEE.
If so, could we then have trials for evil-doers from the Ancien Régime , i.e. McCain, Graham, Lott, Specter, Snowe, Collins, to name a few who belong in the dock? Please, please, please, could we?
Closing the tent door except to ideological purists does not a majority make
Which is a political loser. Even the majority of Republicans are against it.
Did you read the story? The only times he claims it are when he’s trying to con the rubes.
No, he does not ask for earmarks. He does ask for pork.
The Iraq war is ending, whoever becomes President this year. It’s a non factor.
They both want to merge America with Mexico. (Actually, Obama might be a little better on this.)
They both want to punish those evil corporations, including but not limited to the oil companies.
They both oppose “tax cuts for the rich”.
They both support affirmative action.
They both want to close Gitmo and try terrorists in American courts.
They both buy into the Gorebal warming nonsense, which will cost us trillions and be a huge expansion of the government.
How’s that for starters?
Miss Ladybug, thank you. I 2nd that.
Re: ANWR, I heard somewhere this evening that he’s “reconsidering” his position on that. Don’t remember the exact program I heard that on, I think Brit Hume’s Special Report?
Ignatius Reilly, re: #76 At this point we don’t need no stinking trials!
Then add to this, as we enter an economic depression, McCain doesn’t have a clue about the economy. Tapping Phil Gramm proves my point. Gramm was lock step with Clinton dems in repealing the Glass Steagall Act which undoubtedly aided the destruction of our financial markets and economy, especially the mortgage paper and real estate markets.
And to ChicagoRobb who touts McCain’s support of the family, no one who favors amnesty has the best interests of the American family in mind or practice.
Goats, whatever you name is, dont call us traitors, unless you mean to the RNC. We are americans and your buddy McCain is the traitor! I will never, ever vote for him, especially with crittens like you calling us names. If you claim to be a conservative, you are obviously the trader to your beliefs, in my opinion. So, we will sit on our hands, and the more MccAin bots like you insult and call us names, the more in number will sit on our hands. So stop calling people names, like your candiadate does along with his minions, and if oyu have a comment, make it factual! McCain bots are becoming more and more like “unhinged” (to quote MM) libs.
Same happened to me. I detest our primary system. I voted for my pick anyway, but McCain already had it locked up shortly after that. I despise that others were allowed to pick him before I even got a chance to vote.
I would love to see our primary system changed. I won’t, however, wish that McCain rot in hell, or die, or that our military takes over the governemnt with a coup, or what ever any other such extreme craziness types of comments that you would typically hear from the likes of a left wing fringe blog.
As much as this sucks, this little stew that is going on here sure looks to me to only be a few weeks or months away from seeing comments like ‘we ought to * mcCain for the good of the country, who is with me, I stocked up on my ammo!’ or whatever. I really am getting freaked out by some of the commenters here and their progression that has been going on like this.
Based on the evidence of the last ten years, opening the tent to anyone who feels like wandering in and having no principals whatsoever does not make a majority either.
Meanwhile the Democrats boot people out for the most minor deviation from the party line, and they seem to have no problem getting a majority.
Your problem is that we don’t want “ideological purity”. We want the party to start standing for the American people. It’s not doing that at present. All of its policy positions are unpopular with the American people, and most of them are unpopular even with Republicans.
I’m not asking for “idelogical purity”. I’m asking for less of it. McCains open borders obsession stems from his deranged ideological purity, not from the best interests of the party of country.
Defeating McCain will help us in one important way, Miss LB: It will show that we do not sell our conservaitve souls. When it is time again to raise our banner and call the citizens to our side, it will be important to seen as standing for principle, not for a weasel and the GOP party hacks in DC who have brought us to this sad pass.
I am anti illegal immigration and have tried to set a PAC to fight it. McCain was my 5th choice behind Mitt, Fred, Rudy and Duncan but he is still light years ahead of the terrorist lover Barack, check Auchi, Said, Khalidi and Al-Sammarae.
As to McCain’s alleged support for family values: 1. McCain has refused to meet with Billy Graham or Dr. Dobson, 2 significant Christian leaders, but he jumps at the opportunity to meet with La Raza and Hillary supporters. So much for his so called support for family values. Even Obama met with Franklin Graham. UN-freaking-believable.
2. he is against the marriage amnedment
3. he is against overturning Roe
4. he sued the Wisconsin Right to Life all the way to the US Supreme Court.
That would be preferable to fighting a nominal Republican on everything. We’ve already spent most of the last four years fighting what is supposed to be our own man in the White House. If we’re going to have to do that for the next four years, I’d prefer that do it against a Democrat.
Why because you say so? No sale!
Numerous reasons have been given in this thread that prove you wrong. You have not supported your position at all.
And another thing, I know this is old news, but re: family values, I can NEVER forget how McCain DUMPED his first wife after he saw that she became crippled after a car accident and he not only dumped her, but cheeated on her with the current wife, who was younger, prettier (since first wife was now a cripple) and RICHER. Even Ross Perot, who paid for the medical treatment of the first wife, has critisized (and I believe does not like) McCain. McCAin is an opportunist, an adulteror, a liar, and he will not keep rpomises to his first wife, why would we expect him to keep his promises to us even for a second?
Lets not forget Ayers, Dohrn, Wright Pfleger, and all the appeasers that are advising Obama.
I knew he was a liar. Guess i will be voting for Bob Barr atleast he wants to stop all the madness and enforce the laws we have. not make new ones to favor illegals.
I wish we could get enough people together to sue the Feds cause they are not living up to the constitution they are sworn to uphold. They say the constitution gives illegals rights but it does not. It is a contract between our govt. and we the people. IT ONLY APPLIES TO AN AMERICAN CITIZEN. Not terrorist, illegals, or diplomats from a forgien country. We need to stop all this madness or we are about to lose our country.

It cost $30 dollars to park at that hotel–$45 for valet? Holy smokes!
Where did I ever say I support illegal immigration ? I just said that Obama would be far more leniant than McCain. I live in Ca’s central valley and are over run by them and they bring down my property values.
