Spike Lee on Obama: There’s “gonna be a real Chocolate City!”

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 20, 2008 07:50 AM

Still bitter from his spanking at the hands of Clint Eastwood (background here), conspiracy nut and race-monger Spike Lee is clinging to Barack Obama for revenge.

He told a film festival crowd this week that he has gathered 1,000 hours of footage of his Obamessiah on the campaign trail and will produce a documentary about the candidate. The dour director instantly cheered up. Via SilverDocs, Lee gloats:

Discussing his Hurricane Katrina epic When the Levees Broke, Lee referenced the current flooding in the midwest and said, “The infrastructure of this country is crumbling, and money’s going elsewhere.” He paused, then at quadruple the volume: “That’s gonna change, though…gonna be a real Chocolate City!” He went on to drop the news that his longtime editor Sam Pollard has been filming Obama throughout the primary season and has already captured 1,000 hours of footage for a documentary being produced by Edward Norton. When Kennedy began a question with the phrase, “If Obama’s gonna become president…”, Lee interrupted. “There is no if! It changes everything…it’s gonna be Before Obama, and After Obama. And I’m gonna be at that inauguration, too.”

Lee, who believes “someone’s” paying Jeremiah Wright to diss Obama, will be an honored guest at the Democrat National Convention and takes credit for the Obamas’ marriage.

Spike Lee: Soon to be Obama’s NEA chairman in the new Chocolate City?

Shudder.

Speaking of race conspiracies, Michelle Obama channels Spike and panders to racial paranoia. See here and here.

How come whites are still classified as “racist’ at the drop of a hat but blacks are simply “clowns” with “poor judgement”, etc?

As I said in a post that MM deleted for some reason, anyone who votes for the racist, radical, B Hussein IS A RACIST. You are either an out in the open (and why not, as most whites are scared to death of blacks and especially of being tarred as “racist”) “clown” like Lee, or an enlightened “typical white person” who is so racist, he is incapable of holding blacks to any reasonable standard of behavior. You know, like NOT joining a “church” and befriending a monster like Wright after the very first “sermon” you hear is an H-bomb against whites and America. Stuff like that.

Rusty, I agree the comment was wrong. Isn’t MM traveling? Perhaps that is why Bit_boy’s comment has not been removed? I know, sounds like I’m making excuses for her– I doubt she needs or wants anyone doing so. But there is a stark contrast to the ONE tasteless comment followed by the condemnation by Michelle’s regular readers and the commonplace hate and crudity found on many leftist websites followed by agreement and even more tasteless comments. Quite a contrast. I think that is the real reason you, lgm, et al lurk about– a better class of bloggers.

    Old Scout,

So perpetuating racism is okay as long as it is business? Seems to me slavery was all about business too. Doesn’t really justify it, does it?

Let’s give this more than twenty seconds of liberal knee-jerk guilt.

The reason that word will endure in the vernacular is that it’s disappearance would deprive Spike, Richard Pryor and nearly every rapper of a substantial portion of his material.

The very funny Chris Rock found utility in its use when he said “There’s like a civil war going on with black people. And there’s two sides: there’s black people and there’s niggers. The niggers have got to go.”

What is this? A black man, accusing a black minister of selling out one of his own kind…? Is “Spike” saying that it’s possible for someone to buy a black man…? I guess being a “slave” to money is okay, huh, Spike?

Spike Lee is a racist. After all these years of minorities and African Americans getting preferential treatment, if Obama comes in and makes the US even more racist than it already is, then I imagine there’s going to be some major civil conflicts in the coming years. If anything, preferential treatment (affirmative action) should be completely dropped once there’s a minority/African American as POTUS, because anything else would be sheer hypocrisy.
