YES! The ultimate Obama endorsement! (UPDATED)
Charles at LGF links to this report at the American-based OneFreeKorea, which is a good site I’ve seen linking here a few times. I’m going to wait to light the cigar until it gets verified a little more and we see the whole translated text, but it looks like we’ve got another tyrant endorsement:
The Chosun Sinbo, the mouthpiece of North Korea’s Japanese front organization Chongryon and often for the North Korean regime itself, has announced its preference for Obama over McCain, whom it calls “a variant of Bush” and “nothing better than a scarecrow of neoconservatives,” which is a bit odd considering that the Bush Administration’s giveaway diplomacy is better for Kim Jong Il than even Clinton’s awful performance.
Castro we knew about, and Qaddafi chimed in just the other day, but Kim Jong Il?
I wasn’t expecting that.
Take me now, Lord. My life as a blogger is complete.
The Obamessiah must ask himself once again: Why do all these anti-American tyrants keep s…um, endorsing my candidacy?
____________
UPDATE: Commenter Tennyson, who did the wonderful Snobama and Arugula posters, jumps on this one:
Also, OneFreeKorea has updated their link above with a translation of the Korean press release. It’s even more delicious than I had hoped, because it emphasizes the endorsement stems from Obama’s willingness to meet Mr. Ronery sans preconditions:
We will see a better relationship between the U.S. and the Korean Peninsula with Obama, who sternly criticizes Bush and who would meet the leader of Chosun without pre-conditions, than with the “Bush clone” and scarecrow of the neocons McCain.
Come on, Osama, your turn…you know you’ve got one tape left in you…

see-dub…
the only thing that really surprises me is that it took this long for Kim Jong Irr to do this.
Otherwise..its just par for the course.
I am a little surprised that Michelle, who called out Rosie O’Donnell on her “ching-chong” comments back at the end of 2006 (and rightly so) would allow her own guest blogger to peddle the same type of offensive Asian steroetypes:
Which of course is then picked up by some of the commenters:
Classy.
This looks like a T-shirt opportunity.
Kimmie hearts Barry.
With a commie style strong man pic of them holding hands.
The sad thing is when people like Kim endorse the Obamessiah, his followers simply take the tyrant into the fold as yet another misunderstood soul whom President BushMcChimpywhatever has slandered, etc. Kim is probably now much hipper among these naive and totally uninformed idiots… “Kim Jong Be Illin’ Yo!”
Oh, and Chappy #82…,
get a rife…
Unfortunately, the Liberals do not see any problem with all these terrorists and despots endorsing Obama. They just see it as proof that all these lower life forms really just want to talk, get a hug and maybe a cup of cocoa and all the problems in this world…of course caused by Bush…will instantly go away, and it will be because of the “Change” and such brought about by Obamessiah and his amazing sense of “diplomacy”.

In all seriousness, is there anything that would change the mind of the typical Obama supporter? I’d love to see how folks would answer that poll question. Because even with this issue, his supporters would probably say things like, “Oh, well, world leaders, both friend and foe alike, like Obama more than McCain because he’s open to conversation, to dialogue versus confrontation. This is another reason to like Obama more than McCain. Of course, Obama isn’t an advocate for all these leaders may do or say, but don’t you see, that if they’re willing to talk with Obama that progress can be made?” Being Obama’s PR guy must be kinda fun: you’re doing nothing by leading a bunch of mindless sheep. They call themselves “enlightened.” If “enlightenment” is to give up on reason, they can keep it.
I agree. I must have been typing while you posted your comments.
Not being shameless but I made a funny little Obama Jong Il thingy too.
http://www.dequalss.com/wp/2008/06/obama-has-a-new-endorsement/
I was not degrading anyone. I was calling out something which is offiensive to many.
Nor was I marginalizing his reporting. The article was fine, though I personally couldn’t care less what Jong Il thinks of our presidential candidates. But throwing in a tired steroetype like that is neither clever nor sagacious.
Obama talks about breathalyzers for asthma patients.
Hmmm, why would one test asthmatic kids for ETOH, aka ethanol?
Oh, wait- Obama in the pocket of Big Ethanol
The Li’l Kim “ronery” thing is from the 4th best movie ever made, “Team America: World Police”.
Lighten up, Francis.
Tennyson doesn’t waste any time with the PhotoShops. Good one!
Funny,
How I get roundly criticised, whenever I tell people, I’m supporting McCain,
Isn’t it.
All I’m saying is that I don’t think it is fair to ask someone to edit their own sense of humor in their writing – different people find different things funny – it’s just too hard to be PC in reflecting one’s personal sense of satire when the standards of what’s acceptable and what’s not, are so subjective and contrary to free speech.
So, would I be wrong, if I posited, Not voting, or voting for a third party candidate is a tacit vote for Kim Jong Il?
Thanks for putting the “pout” back in chapoutier, chapoutier.
It’s about time sensitive little jerks like you understood that just because YOU find “something” offensive, that’s not a global test (to use a Kerry-ism).
ESPECIALLY when the “offensive” bit comes from a very funny movie you obviously didn’t see!
(And please do yourself a favor by not seeing it, as you offense o meter will spark, sizzle, and burst into flames! It skewers Hollywood liberals you probably adore.)
When Barack Obama speaks, his voice and intonation remind me of Dave Chapelle doing his “white person” voice. Am I offended by Dave Chapelle? No, I just laff my *ass off.
So lighten up (but not your loafers, if you get my drift).
In the past few elections, I find it disturbing that there is nearly a 50/50 split across America between the “left” and the “right”. It further disturbs that the left bonds to the left candidate in spite of things like the KJI endorsement and other socialist world leaders from the moonbat planets. How can this be? To suggest they actually think and reason their votes for America’s future invokes their usual fingers in the ears “la la la la, I’m not listening to you!” reaction. God help us. Half of us are too stupid to help themselves. What’s even more disturbing, that other half got help from a significant portion of our half and gave Billy Jeff a second term inspite of his absolute and obvious and HOWLING incompetence. God help us. I’m praying that somehow we baby-boomers can give our children, now grown, an improved America from what we have allowed her to degenerate into. Our “World War II Generation” parents didn’t give us the America we have now. We took what they gave us and screwed it up, badly. We of the “if it feels good, do it” generation. We of the “do unto others, then split!” generation. We of the “I did not have sex with that woman” generation. I’ve got 2 months seniority on Billy Jeff as a baby-boomer and that ain’t no badge of honor. We are now “paying the piper”. What goes around, comes around. The chickens are turning on “final approach”.
Barf.
Post #98 gets a great big AIN’T IT THE TRUTH from me. I still have a huge hurt in my heart caused by the 60’s and 70’s protesters who IMHO ruined this great nation with their ME FIRST attitude.
I’m losing hope that we can regain any of our lost glory as a nation.
Great post Floyd.
What also disturbs me is that the “Christians” that vote Democrat have no problem with a candidate (BHO) who invokes the “Lord” from the pulpit on Sunday and on Monday is standing with planned parenthood telling them he will ensure there will be abortions – no holds barred – and will make sure he signs federal legislation thereby circumventing the states right to govern. That will set precedence for the 2nd amendment as well and he will systematically destroy the constitution.
Isn’t that because he said in one of his books, that when dealing with white people he learned to speak softly and not make any sudden moves? He’s acting, just like Chappelle. But the lemmings are falling for it.
Is this was not so sad it would be funny. Like some comic book or a Naked Gun movie, where all the evil leaders of the World meet and conspire against the forces of good.
And now Kim? “Ballack Robama – He Our Man”.
I’m sorry. I thought he was reporting.
If he has missed any tyrants, warlords, Marxists or fellow travelers it is hard to tell – guess the rest of us should shape up ad proclaim the Obamanation.
I work with an Obama supporter and NOTHING is going to change her mind. She thinks an endorsement like this is just proof of how Obama can get along with everyone and “change” the world.
Because Barack does not view them as anti American. In fact there are probably several programs that these “fearless leaders” have instituted in their countries that he would like to impose here. Of course he won’t have to deal with all of that nasty blood shed and stuff since the courts will simply nod their heads in agreement and the sheep of America will just continue grazing on the grass while hoping the sheepdogs are out there somewhere.
Great postings. Loved #98 by Floyd R. Turbo. Sure would like to send it to someone of my acquaitance who is in the thrall of Obamania. Are there any sheepdogs left out there?
From the Opossum News — “That’s not the North Korea I knew.”
That isn’t the Osama bin-Laden that I knew.
MM – this still needs more substantiation to become a real problemo for the Only Man Who Can Save America.
What we need is for the English version of the page to pop up. right now when you hit the link it says “under construction.”
Also, somebody somewhere in the vast intertube-land needs to get a paper copy of the original Chosun article and pdf it for the pajamahadeen.
Any chance of hooking that up?
I think there is a fine balance to strike between editorial license and absurdity. Some of the photoshops I’ve seen of Dear Leader are so absurd and juvenile that you can dismiss the underlying fact as a cheep political trick.

A brief one-page order from the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington directed military officials to either “release or transfer Parhat, or to expeditiously hold a new [military] tribunal.”
He isn’t sprung yet, but being a Chinese citizen attending an al Qaeda camp in Afghanistan and fighting for the Taleban does not an unlawful enemy combatant make, apparently.
Oh my, See-Dubya, is that a reference to a classic 1998 editorial in The Onion by Bruce Heffernan? I do believe it is, and a hilarious one at that. >:)
I think he was commenting on hypocrisy, not offensiveness. Criticism of slurs against asians here, when made against Michelle, were apparently offensive. . .but slurs against certain other Asians are apparently NOT offensive.
There’s a lack of consistency which chapoutier is not incorrect to point out.
Personally, I didn’t find either case all that offensive (and I find the ‘ronery’ comment funny. . .having seen Team America).
I used to read Kim Jong-Il’s Live Journal every day. THAT was some hilarous reading.
Maybe it’s just me, but everytime reference is made to BO’s message “Yes, we can” I hear Greg Proops saying it as Bob the Builder.
you would be wrong, yes. And thats Rearry the truth we rove to hear.
*chuckle*
here’s a start on a Kim Jong rap song in support of the Obamessiah…
I’m Kim Jong Il… yo yo I be illin’!
Make Obama president and we be chillin’
Michelle my belle, that’s a
finefirst lady (i’d be hittin’ that like a rich Mitt Romney!)Yo listen up y’all in the USA-ya
Baby got Barack here in North Ko-raya,
Put my man in charge and i promise to see-ya…
(Yo I’ll see ya, but i wouldn’t wanna bee-ya!
But, Kim Jong-Il was sorta my hero in Team America–he did blow the head off of a certain puppet on stage, and he fed ‘Hans Brix’ to the shark.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll remember it the next time this board gets all up in a lather about how offended they are that some Wal-Mart greeter say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.”

Rob # 105, I wonder if your co-worker is my cousin? I’m serious when I say that. I spoke with her on the phone yesterday and she was singing his praises and I was trying to point things out to her but I might as well been talking to the wall. The funny thing though is she’s like 52 or close to that age.
Whomever gets elected, the next 4 years are going to be bad.
We just need something to bring about, say, a good old WWF Smackdown to those on the left. Not that I watch that show. Can’t stand it. Even more fake than BHO…now that I think about it…but something to stop’m in their tracks, something SO obvious a put-down that they can’t possibly escape seein’ how wrong they’ve been…I’m dreamin’, I know.

If you are going to go through the trouble of “fixing” something, at least spell it correctly.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll remember it the next time this board gets all up in a lather about how offended they are that some Wal-Mart greeter say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.”
Balderdash. You’re citing a case where a majority was objecting to an attempt by a business to secularize their religious holiday.
It’s those of your ilk (a wonderful word conveying distaste) who think minorities should impose their views on majorities.
As for “many” being offended by having a common problem of English pronunciation (limited to Japanese and Koreans) being pointed out in order to make fun of a murderous dictator IN A MOVIE, get the eff over it!
It’s like Germans being offended if a movie depicts Adolf Hitler speaking heavily accented English. Kinda misses the point, eh?
(and I suppose all you Perpetually Outraged were steamed sitting through Inspector Clouseau movies)
But if you really want to be offended, go try speaking American-accented French on the streets of Paris.
Fulldroolcup,
Please. This has nothing to do with majority versus minority. And as an aside I seriously doubt a majority of Americans are offended by “Happy Holidays.” I would gather most could not care less.
Also, as to this:
If I were to make fun of Robert Mugabe by referencing some racial stereotype or epiteth associated with blacks, would that be cool?
This has everything to do with the tendency here to claim offense at the drop of a hat at anything that even mildly upsets the board’s general sensibilities, but when the offense is on the other foot so to speak, you all scurry to the “jeez…why you gotta be so pc/sensitive/uptight/humorless” defense.
In truth I was not personally offended by See-Dub’s comment, though I question its taste. I think if anyone knew me here at all they would know I am very very hard to offend. Except one thing that always gets my goat.
Hypocrisy.
It’s not the same thing. While race-/ethnicity are beyond one’s control, it is not beyond one’s control to improve one’s language and speaking skills.
Again, I disagree. My Appalachian accent is made sport of every time I travel more than one hundred miles either north of the Ohio River or west of the Mississippi. I don’t over-react to such ribbing’s because I know it’s all in fun, and because it’s just not that big a deal to me.
Relatedly, if you’ve ever seen the film “A Christmas Story,” one of the most popular holiday films of all time, and not laughed at the scene where Ralphie and his family have Christmas dinner at the Chinese restaurant because you find it offensive, then you need to reexamine your criteria for what classifies as racism and what does not.
Because like with See Dubya’s post, you’re missing out on some hilarious good-natured humor.
DBN, I think you missed my point.
First, I generally enjoy See-Dub’s posts. I find them sardonic and peppered with pop culture references, which is very much my own style of humor.
Second, this is not about what some individually find offensive or inoffensive. This is about what I view as this board’s general mentality and hypocrisy when it comes to defining what is offensive and what is not. If any prominent liberal were to go on some show and use a mocking asian accent like that (pop culture reference or no) or write it in a column, I have little doubt they would be skewered here and elsewhere (as Rosie was). Obviously context matters, but I don’t think the fact that See-Dub was referencing a movie cleanses the racial stereotype completely.
And, perhaps, my most controversial stance ever here: I HATE A Christmas Story. Hate it Hate it Hate it. It is one of those movies, Clue is another, that all of my friends seem to enjoy that I get ill at the thought of watching.
You’re right, my first read of your post was with a thin-skinned approach, ready to jump at anything that hinted at a pro-PC tirade, and for that I’m sorry.
You’re right, again; however, the difference between Rosie’s mimicry and See Dubya’s satire is that Rosie used mocking facial gestures, gestures not common to all Asians who speak with accents, where See Dubya merely employed a correctable speech impediment to reinforce a greater point.
“You’re a mean one”, Mr Chapoutier! {def. to Dr.Seuss} Just jokin,’ it does get a little tiresome after the umpteenth viewing.
