Obama clubs Seal
Via Ace, it looks like that baby-blue sucker’s under the bus. Here’s Ken Wheaton at Advertising Age:
While we don’t have full details, someone at Obama’s press center, when asked if the seal would be used going forward said simply, “No.” There were still a number of vaguely presidential-seal screensavers available at the Obama website, though.
Wheaton thinks they managed to pull it before any permanent damage was done to the Obama inevitable juggernaut, and I think he’s probably right. He’s learned to skip the step where he says “I could no more renounce that seal than I could renounce my (insert family member)” and cut straight to the renouncing.
Haven’t heard any reactions to the Kim Jong Il endorsement yet.

Apparently Obama finds it extremely easy now to discard his staffers and their work after it comes under criticism by the opposition.
Imagine what he would be like as President.

This is not the graphics dept. that I have known for all of these months. They are renegade designers that I have no control over.
The Obama campaign rolls out an official campaign seal. People complain that it looks too much like the presidential seal. The campaign listens and walks away from the seal. Is there a problem here?
McCain’s flipflops are about policy — does he support offshore or doesn’t he? What about the windfall profits tax? That McCain straight talk bus has lots of forgotten policies under it’s tires.

I think Obama’s had a few flipflops on policy as well. guns, Iran, and public financing come to mind.

lgm, since McCain is a democrat in Republican clothing and a politician in general, his flip flop on offshore drilling isn’t surprising.
Although one could argue that he’s listening to his constituents and adapting his policy accordingly. Although he’s never been concerned about his constituents before, so he’s probably just pandering.
As far as I know, he’s never been in favor of windfall profits tax.

lgm: Changing policy positions based on sound information and a logical thought process is a legit and prudent thing for anyone to do. What Obama does is pure smoke and mirrors having nothing to do with policy, and that is because it is his MO. He makes decisions like Bill Clinton would make when he was, oh I don’t know, 13 years old. If he were an Indian his name would be “White Man Runs Him”. In this case it’s “His Handlers Run Him”. This guy is not a deep thinker.
Has anyone *adjusted* the lyrics yet to “Another One Bites the Dust?” It’d make a dandy theme song for Barry and Michelle.
