Raaaaaaaaaacist!!!!!
Playing the race card and the slavery card in Texas…over barbecue food regulations.
Sheesh. You can’t parody these people:
Leaders of the Black Cultural Council say volunteers and the black community felt “humiliated” after two health department food inspectors threatened to put a stop to a Juneteenth celebration over questions about food preparation for 600 free barbecue sandwiches.
Council President Jo Ann Davenport-Littleton said health inspectors told them it was illegal for the group to serve the sandwiches because they were not prepared at the site where they were served.
Gino Solla, the county’s top health official, said state law prohibits any food service operation from having food prepared in a private home for public consumption.
“I hate that it happened,” Davenport-Littleton said in a story for today’s edition of the Odessa American. “I wanted people to go away talking about how great the celebration was this year. All you heard was ‘They were going to deny us barbecue. Here we are in modern-day slavery again.’ “

Die Hippie, Die and Alohaguy,
Thanks. That excerpt is from his book entitled - Economic Facts and Fallacies. Great read. I highly recommend it.

Is it me or does lgm grow less coherent with every post?
It’s not you. As an aside, I thought that he was to be referred to as “Lee Harvey”.
I’m also partial to “Shrinking Violet.” No matter, his irrelevance is compounded with every post.
There are two things at play here.
One is TOO MUCH government!
Second is the need far too many Blacks vseem to feel to scream racism at every turn.
Comparing “can’t cook BBQ” to the horrors & tragedy of slavery is an unspeakable insult to those actually injured by slavery.

When, O WHEN will the race-baiters be held accountable for the harm they’re doing??
Thanks for that info, Rorschach. Never heard of “Taco trucks” before. Sounds like there’s a lotta laws that should apply there.
Don’t tell them about a bbq restaurant that used to operate in Arlington, Texas, in the late 1960’s - I believe. The restaurant was operated by a black man and was named, and I kid you not, “Big N*****’s Barbecue” !
Nearly half with no mortgages whatsoever. Out-of-touch.
Did anyone notice that Hillary still has a mortgage on her NY home?
$100 million made in the past ten years and she still has a mortgage?
Bill’s Lifestyle must take quite a bit of dough. . .
Oh, I agree. If people are congregating on their own and eating food prepared by members of the group, I can’t see where the government has any role.
But when they equate the lack of free BBQ to slavery, they lose me.

And I was there when lgm came over from the dark side!
And they wonder why noone takes claims of racism seriously anymore.
Bush compared to a monkey or chimp for YEARS… no one says anything. b. Hussein sock monkey doll comes out… RACISM!!! The SKY is falling!
If I can not smoke outdoors in some places due to health concerns then you can not have your BBQ made at someones house for the same reason. This is only going to get worse, especially if we get uni health care. It is really silly, but not racism.
These people are a disgrace to the memory of those who truly suffered as slaves. Shame on Council President Jo Ann Davenport-Littleton. Shame.
You can’t make this sh*t up!
I can completely understand wanting to cry out as this appears to be nanny state intervention at its greatest. HOWEVER claiming to be a modern day slave because of this petty grievance is an insult to the grave injustices that those over a hundred years ago suffered.
aaah rats! you beat me to it zorro
Yeah, but did you hear, all that non-talk about Obama helping her to pay off her debts looks to be real, so maybe he will toss in a house while he is at it? If she gets her 12 million back, any bets whether she pays it off or not? Then again, the last I heard the secret service protection they were receiving lived in a small house in back and paid (surprise surprise) the same amount as the house mortgage for their rent.
Slavery ended in the USA over one hundred years ago. It still occurs in many parts of the world to this day. However, since it does not fit the victim agenda domestically, it is relatively scarce in the news.
They never will cause as soon as you try they scream you are racist. That is their excuse for laziness, failure, drugs, crime, killings, and fatherless childern. BLAME WHITEY… I have served with many fine men and women who where black and you would never hear them use race as a crutch. I will say it again. Entitlements caused all this cause people are told they can not do without entitlements or they will never get ahead and be able to compete. End entitlements and watch how things change. People would learn that they have to do or they starve. Funny how not having food and clothes or money to buy things will make you take jobs and get an education .
Things that make you go hhmmmmmm
Funny. I don’t remember “all the barbeque you want to eat” beign in the Thirteenth Amendment or The Emancipation Proclamation.
Did I miss that part somewhere in there?
beignbeingUgh! Sorry for the typo. Not enough coffee, yet.
I can understand the need to at least keep track of things in regards to just randomly feeding people.
If i’m reading this right, this wouldnt be any different than a church potluck, with people bringing things from home for others to eat? I could be wrong.
And no, lgm is only being conherant within the context that he’s the only one actually thinking he’s on target. He points out someone else agrees with him when they dont.
Of course, thats liberal logic for ya.
had to look up conherant…
How do you know when a black American is lying? The constant barrage of false claims of racism make it difficult. Would the KKK really try to keep a gathering of black Americans from getting food poisoning?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the genesis of that law goes back to the mid to late 80s when churches used to hand out sandwiches/food to the poor and homeless.
One such church used to do it at the Ft Worth water fountains across the street from the Greyhound bus station.
Of course, the atheist/race-baiting politicos that brought this about claimed it was all about hygiene.
But the truth was that the gubmint wanted to corner the taking care of the poor market, especially lest some poor soul gets exposed to the Man that fed crowds of thousands.
If it truly is about hygiene, why didn’t they pass a law mandating that all garbage from restaurants be locked up tighter than Ft. Knox? Instead, health officials are worried that someone might get a case of food poisoning from a egg-sandwich prepared by the little old Baptist ladies.
The black community didn’t stand up then, in fact some applauded that “whitey” churches were stopped from poaching their folks. Now it comes full circle and nails Juneteenth.
What goes around, comes around.
