“Obama or die!”: Who’s obsessing about Pooh Bear’s race?

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 25, 2008 10:45 AM

It was an Obama lovefest at the Black Entertainment Television awards last night. Puff Daddy/P Diddy/whatever chanted “Obama or die” and urged his peers to elect the “first black president.” Alicia Keys, last heard spreading conspiracy theories about the government killing Tupac and Biggie and creating gangsta rap to perpetuate black genocide, yelled “Obama, y’all!”

It was one big race-based ad for Obama.

So, who’s obsessing about his race? Oh, yeah. All of us non-black bigots!

***

Related: Ed Morrissey points to more race-based commentary about Obama. No, not from us right-wing racists. It’s…Ralph Nader accusing Obama of “talking white.”

Not once do you hear a statement of qualifications as a base for their political encouragement to others …

Only selecting due to race …

Now that is true racism …

Yet when whites choose a white candidate by a 70% margin, well, EVERYONE KNOWS there’s some “racism” going on…..(in a nation 66% white!)
Non-whites, or as the Popular Culture miss-lables them; People Of Color, are encouraged to unite behind “their” man!
But whites are forbidden from “uniting” under ANY banner or cause. This is the Conventional Wisdom regarding matters of race in America. It’s anti-white and anti-male! But if, (GOD FORBID) white males decided to join together….. OH THE HUMANITIES!
And, contrary to Popular Culture, if someone points out that white people ALSO have interests, this DOES NOT make them biggotted. This is called Leveling the Playing Field!

Don’t know a thing about how he’s going to screw everything up, just that he’s black. Heck, they would vote for Pol Pot if he was running and black. You think blacks have it rough now, wait until the democrats control the entire national government. The government will be everywhere in your life; controlling everything. You’ll end up right back 200 years ago…with the government now pulling the strings.

For those who say, think, and feel that they want Obama to be prez because he “looks like me”, there’s a lot of projection of their mindset onto others. If they like Obama because he looks like them, wouldn’t they then figure whites would be against him because he DOESN’T look like them? Except, I don’t see that, at least in the whites I know. It’s like they need to CREATE white people with this mindset, so that their world makes sense. I don’t know, maybe you do have some uneducated whites who think that way. But I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. When a black says they like Obama because he looks like them, I’ll take that at face value. If a white says they won’t vote for Obama because he doesn’t look like them, I’d take that in the same spirit. I just haven’t heard it, haven’t sensed it. I admit I don’t have my secret decoder ring with me which allows so many other people to peer into the hearts of bigots and see the darkness there, so I’m at a disadvantage. Maybe I could take a course and learn how to see the bigot inside the white person.

By the way, I was in Kansas City and Iowa last week, and they are showing this ad in Iowa promoting Obama being raised by his white “single mother.” The whole ad makes Obama into a very conservative white guy. In other words, he is running away from his black American heritage (actually he has no black American heritage; he has a foreign African Muslim heritage) in order to get votes from white Midwesterners. I’m sure the racist Hollywood BET crowd does not realize this.

I think it is a good question, myself. Why does half black and half white make him black, unless it is to take advantage of race. Bi-racial people suffer even more of a disparity, because they get discriminated against by blacks and white in many cases.

By the way, Hallerin Hilton Hill has all but said he is voting for someone besides Barack Obama, because he can’t come close to agreeing with his platform positions.

Let me be the first to say that I am neither crippled by some imaginary fear, nor am I afraid of anyone on your list people. Change is an eventuality in life. That is how it goes.

    But lets break this down.

The only “scary” thing is that people who promote a thug lifestyle (you know, the ones NOT eating arugula, but degrading women in their music, promoting drug and alchohol abuse, and generally showing they are more of a drain on society than you and lgm combined) are going to vote for Obama. Are these really the people you want trumpeting your cause? Seriously. You need to get a grip. Most of the people on the BET shows wouldn’t know anything about proper English and grammar if it walked up in a clown suit with a marching band playing loudly and smacked them in the face with a sledgehammer. They can’t communicate with any real level of respect or intelligence between themselves, yo, so…again, do you REALLY want people like that being the champions and voice of that particular voting block?

Mexicans, lesbians, blacks, whoever…I don’t care who they are, where they are from (legally, of course), or any other factor you can add to that. I’m not white, still think for myself, and seem relatively rational and calm…so what’s wrong with me? But guess what? My race doesn’t matter. People such as yourself are the first to call for a colorblind society, and then are the first to pull the race card out when it’s most convenient.

Because I want people to take personal responsibility for their actions, to be decent citizens and act like they have some common courtesy and some good old fashioned home training…i’m the enemy?

Call to arms. Perhaps. But not the arms in the gun safe.

The arms of the mind, and of the voting booth. Some people fight the good fight in those places.

And that, as they say, is that.

It’s a lose-lose proposition either way. That’s my thoughts on the situation. It’s really sad that we have come down to this.

Most blacks are patriotic and for the most part social conservatives. Yet they are willing to vote for the most left wing/Marxist candidate ever to run for president. . .solely because of the color of his skin. This is a tribal mentality. Our Founding Fathers feared this type of barbaric mob democracy.

Reminds me of a black coworker who lives in DC that I worked with. She was extremely Christian–against abortion, against the killing of Terry Schiavo, against same sex “marriage,” was for school choice. . . but then didn’t like Condoleeza Rice for the same reason that blacks don’t like her or Colin Powell.

She hates how they have taken God out of the public schools. . .but then for sure will vote for the Hugo Chavez like Hussein Obama who will appoint radicals to the courts.

This tribal mentality is destroying blacks and our nation.

The only scary thing about Obama is the Marxist based policies he would impose on the economy, the partisan and activist judges he could put on the courts to replace all the aging libs who would let him and a solid lefty Senate chhose their succesors, and, of course, the terrorist attacks likely to come back to America when Obama gives al Qaeda a massive victory when he surrenders in Iraq with the US on the cusp of victory.

However, what if some nutjob decided to promote “George Wallace or Die”, or perhaps “David Duke or Die”? Would these comments be seen as not racist due to word play? Of course not. At issue here is not that P. $hi^^y was being clever, but rather he is suggesting that not voting for Obama would somehow trigger a worsening of black’s fortunes, as if only a black could improve them. This is rubbish as Abraham Lincoln and a quarter million dead white Union soldiers would likely attest. The irony is the entire rap culture couldn’t give a hoot about materially improving black families or outcomes.

What is funny is a young, naive hipster with such limited knowledge of history outside of their own personal experience that she could make a statement saying something like “I can’t imagine anything could be worse that the last 7 years under George Bush”. And we are provincial?

More to the point, it is the people on your side (the left) of the political spectrum that frequently threaten violence, and follow through, when their demands are not met. Have you ever read any history, especially about the 60’s that is so glorified by the liberals? There was a lot of talk about peace and love by the lefties, and that is probably all you have heard, but it was all about force and violence in the end. For starters try reading Destructive Generation by David Horowitz. It will open your eyes to reality of what so many in the Democrat party hold up as the high point of American history.

Or if you can’t bear to learn about the world before you were born consider the Re-create ‘68 movement that is/was a very real threat of violence to the Dem convention. Don’t believe it? The Denver police do and are stocking up on arms.

The war, the fallout from a generation of burnouts dying of drug overdoses, the Manson Family, the SLA, the cop shoot outs of other groups — even Altamont –and yes, the ‘68 DNC are evidence aplenty of how inaccurate their portrayl of the era is.
