Outrage: Our “friends” in Mexico release suspect in Border Patrol officer’s murder
Before I tell you about the latest outrage from the Mexican government, bear all this in mind for context:
President Bush pushed for the $1.3 billion Merida Initiative to help our “friends” in Mexico fight crime and secure their southern border while our fences go unfinished. He sided with Mexico . Barack Obama and John McCain continue to suck up to MALDEF and the open-borders lobby–with scheduled appearances coming up this summer at the Latino National Congress and La Raza/The Race conferences. McCain refuses to disassociate himself from his Hispanic outreach advisor Juan Hernandez, a former Mexican cabinet official and radical “Mexico first” ethnic nationalist. DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff rode the shamnesty bandwagon, assailing opponents as bigots and putting the price of lettuce over national security.
Now, read this:
U.S. officials say they are outraged that a judge in Mexico has released a man suspected of killing a Yuma border agent this year by ramming a Humvee into the agent’s all-terrain vehicle.
The release of 22-year-old Jesus Navarro Montes comes as U.S. Border Patrol agents grapple with an increase in vehicle-ramming attacks along the Mexican border in recent years.
Since Oct. 1, the Border Patrol in Arizona has logged 24 truck assaults on agents or their barricades along the border. The number hit a record 44 the previous year, which was before work crews built dozens of miles of vehicle barriers along the Arizona-Sonora line.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement says its agents also have seen a steady increase in vehicle attacks in recent months, although ICE does not keep statistics.
Navarro’s release last week, which since has come to U.S. officials’ attention, drew outrage from the Border Patrol and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

Navarro Montes is a suspect in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar. Agent Aguilar was killed in a heinous act of violence on January 19 in the Yuma Sector, while attempting to stop two vehicles that illegally entered the country and were absconding into Mexico.
We are working with a determined Mexican Government, and our Department of Justice, to seek swift justice for the Aguilar murder. We have also assured Agent Aguilar’s family that every resource is being called upon in the relentless pursuit of justice.
Agent Aguilar’s murder represents a tragic example of border violence. We are placing our highest priority on combating and ending the increase in violence, and the American public stands with the men and women of the Border Patrol as they carry out their heroic service.
Mexican officials are pointing fingers at DHS for not issuing an arrest warrant or extradition request. I wouldn’t doubt someone at DHS screwed up, but is this how “friends” act?
No.
This is how a government that has been allowed to walk all over the sovereignty of another acts.
The current administration and its open-borders enablers in both political parties are reaping what they have sown. A bloody shame.

Agent Aguilar’s murder represents a tragic example of violence committed by illegal immigrants and their runners and this is not relegated to the border, Mr. Chertoff. However, and I am sure this is missed on you – you and your open-borders’ ilk are completely responsible for any and all anarchy at the border. You’ve handcuffed those border agents and I am disgusted that you, up until this point had nothing but praise to shower onto lawbreakers and contempt for those who wish to uphold the law. You have blood on your hands. This is what you’ve asked for and this is what you have gotten. Deal with it.
Wait…if he rammed a US border patrol agent, why was he in Mexican custody? Did the US hand him over to Mexico or was he arrested in Mexico for something else?

Mexican Army Members Busted for Home Invasion and Murder — in Phoenix?
Honestly, how the hell can we separate the invasion at our border by Mexican immigrants/drug dealers/military with the threat of scary terrorists. We are incrementally giving up our freedoms to a behemoth-sized government for the myth of security. Yet we think the government has an ounce of credibility or even good intentions with these bills (FISA, MCA, Patriot) while they intentionally leave our border wide open.
This has to show us that these bills were not fashioned for our security, they are fashioned for our control. We are enemy #1 for this government, and people sit around happy to give away their privacy and freedoms, so they can feel secure from prehistoric Arabs who live in caves thousands of miles away. Wake the hell up, the Mexican military is conducting operations in this country – either assassinating people, protecting drug mules, human smuggling, or any other type of nefarious activity.

Oh Michelle, can you find out why Reyes was able to get his family member back so fast while it took so much time to rescue our soldier that was held? Really, read the link I have in post #9 and it all makes sense.
I seem to recall a troll on this site (I will not mention his name but his initals are lgm) who said there is no such thing as America – it is “North America”. So, maybe he is right. At the very least, you would think that is true if “law” enforcement (not out brave men and women), Juan McCain and the SCOTUS have their way.

You are correct on this one. Lawyers here insist officials follow the exact letter of the law. No exceptions. Murderers have gotten off due to technicalities. The ineptness of DHS and the Administration on matters of immigration never cease to amaze me. And yet, nobody ever loses their job at that useless agency. Public sector bureaucrats never lose their jobs for incompetence though. Especially, the crony bush appointees to positions they have no business being in. Julie Meyers anyone?
Why doesn’t ICE keep statistics? Our enforcement agencies keep all types of statistics on crime except when it comes to illegal immigrants. What are they afraid of? If they kept statistics they could use them to prove their claim that illegals are more law abiding than the average citizen – or not.

Just do what the rest of the world does when you cross there borders without permission… Shoot, and shoot to kill. In France they carry automatic weapons and will use them. Time to take the gloves off people! The drug Lords shoot at us and what do we do, offer them food and water? How long do we have to wait for someone in the government to grow a back bone! When our founding fathers were faced with a non-responsive government they picked up there rifles.
Why do we expect anything less from these lowlifes. They stick their middle finger up at us all the time and we think and do nothing about it (Other than give them more and more or whatever they want).
Notice the victim here, along w/ the two jailed Border Patrol agents, are of Mexican ancestry themselves.
My wife’s family is of Mexican ancestry, her father was born in Mexico. He is a US citizen now, and he sometimes refers to illegals as “wetbacks”.
Illegal aliens compete for the same jobs many legal immigrants/first generation citizens need, and in the Houston area, many of the victims of illegal criminals are Hispanic.
I know as a fact that most legal immigrants/US citizen Hispanics are not as gung ho for the illegals as certain politicians assume.
This is exactly what they want. Our politicians scoff at the word “sovereignty”.

You know the old saying, “even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while” holds here. But I have to say, I hate bush almost as much as lgm. Probably not for the same reasons, but nonetheless. THe biggest reason is this issue. Illegal immigration. He blew that issue horrendously which also corresponded to his precipitous drop in opinion polls. But never deterred teh idiot from pushing amnesty. Hmmm, sounds liek mcamnesty. Additionally, bush’s seemingly endless give away of $ to every special interest group and foreign aid did not exactly endure him to me. IMHO, he is left of center. Not the “far right wing” guy the MSM claims he is. Which is probably why all parties moved left. They didn’t want to be called “far right” (indicating racists and extremely religious) so they were bullied into moving left under the hammer of PC. But I digress.
Just a matter of time before us citizens will have to protect the borders ourselves. It won’t be pretty but it will be effective.
I wish the US followed the same policy on our Southern border that Mexico does on theirs.
Chertoff and the other incompetents of Senor Bush’s border enforcement group have caused these problems… I think we need to give a hearty “Way to go Cherty” to another one of Bush’s losers.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Chertoff and his new assistant Juan Hernandez do an even better job (for Mexico that is) under a McAmnesty presidency.
Bush puts a little too much trust on his personal impressions of people. Witness the thing about looking into Putin’s eyes.
When he was governor here in Texas, the only foreign leader he ever met was Vincente Fox, and he thought he could trust him, and get along.
Fox was the first Mexican president not from the quasi-Marxist PRI party, and was closer to the center, but he did what a leader would be expected to do, which is advance Mexico’s interests. Mexican leaders like having a safety valve that lets young unemployed men leave the country rather than clamor for change, and, of course, Mexico is dependent on the money sent home by illegals.
Of course, if Fox had instead of implemented real reform at home, short term pain for Mexico would have led to long term gain. But Mexico will still be Mexico 50 years from now, probably.
As will California, possibly.
What else should we expect from an unlawful, illicit culture/government in which soldiers, police officers, judges, and drug runners, murderers, and cartel members are synonymous with one another.

I am getting the feeling both Bush and McCain have been “Promised” something. Promised by the Mexican Gov’t something maybe money, maybe build a freaking statue to them….but something has to be behind two American People in such a high position of power..to undermine their very own country and relugate birth Right Americans to a 2nd class status.
We already Know Obama’s reasoning… he wants America overthrown into a Communist form of Gov’t.
This may just work to our advantage, the Border Patrol should keep an eye out for this guy, arrest him the first chance we get then give him the death penalty, which we could not do if Mexico extradited him.

I am 100% in favor of equiping Border Patrol agents with RPG’s.
They wouldn’t even necessarily have to use them… just knowing they HAVE them would deter most of the “vehicle assaults” from getting within the kill-zone. But it’d be nice for them to actually be able to defend themselves as well.

You know how churches and charities have those graphs during fund drives – it shows how much they’ve collected by the week, the month, whatever.
I wonder if anybody has done something similar with illegal immigration. A running tally of how many murders, rapes, car accidents, drug deals, etc have been committed – this week, this month, this year, and so forth.
And wouldn’t that be a pretty dish to set before the liberals.
I would say a boycott of travel to Mexico is in order. Oh wait – none of us can afford to travel down the road to gramma’s house. Well, all those illegals are still working in all those mythical places in the U.S. – how about, back to not patronizing any business that uses them. That includes millions of restaurants, hotels, motels, cleaning companies, dry cleaners, child care facilities, etc.. Next time you have to hire someone, ask them about the legal status of their employees. When the workmen show up and cannot speak even a smidgen of English, send them on down the road. Great ideas, there. I went to Home Depot this morning and saw their indoor overhead signs had larger print in Spanish than English, I torn up the credit card from them at their service desk and will not return. Small act I know, but it’s a start.

I’m surprised a certain federal prosecutor isn’t suing the surviving family members of this agent for the damages his body did by hitting the Humvee. Another great way for the Border Patrol to try to garner more recruits. Ordinary folks, out numbered, under funded, and now sitting ducks for those that openly invade our wide open porous borders.
The Pentagon has already announced a travel advisory for all active duty, civilian personnel, and their families warning them to stay clear of Mexico’s northern drug war region. I haven’t been south of the border since 1981 and have no intention of doing so again.
I went to our big city fair and Bank America had people there at their booth trying to sign people up for accounts. They tried to grab me and I loudly told them I didn’t like Bank America because they give credit cards to illegal aliens… that surprised them, but as I was walking away one yelled, “They have tax IDs!”

My happiness over the gun ruling has been plunged into ice water after reading this item. I’m scared. At this point, I don’t care about anyone elses feeling about my “rights”, guns have become an absolute necessity to anyone living in America today. If the government won’t protect me and my loved ones, I will do my best to protect us.
No the shame of it is they are not the ones reaping what they have sown, the legal law abiding US citizens are reaping what the current administration is sowing. The innocent border patrol agents in jail are reaping, the family of the border agent killed is reaping and the family of the man in Phoenix is reaping. No the tax payers are reaping, so far, I haven’t seen Bush or any of the Shamnesty lovers reaping anything.
oh and LGM, most of the DHS employees are long time liberal civil servants who are so incompetent and can never be fired for their incompetence. And don’t think the higher ups appointed by Bush actually handle this job function, this is a lower level job function. Nope some civil servant that has been on the job since the 60’s or 70’s that is so liberal you would probably have so much in common with them you wouldn’t recognize them as one of the Bushies because they aren’t they are one of the Carter/Clinton incompetent hippies.
I really should be angrier than I am about this. But this incident only reminds of our own courts and the phantom “rights” they keep giving to the bad guys (Gitmo, LA child rape case).
