LGM:

The Huffington Post? You've got to be joking.

You must have a better source on the issue that than, and I'm willing to bet that McCain HIMSELF has no connection.

It's also interesting that you didn't talk about his sympathy to La Raza. They are a racial supremacy group, but haven't blown up anything yet.

Rusty,

But his efforts on behalf of gay marriage rights will always make him a hero to me. A flawed hero? Certainly. But a hero nevertheless.

You're idea of a hero is someone who circumvents the law and the will of the majority (the key principle behind democracy) and when it's covered by the noble people on FOX, he attacks them?

Osama bin-laden is a hero to many Islamists and neo-Nazis. What's the difference?

Should be fun.

Let the insults, accusations, and belittling begin, a la, Hillary vs Obambi style.

Rusty, you're right. Eating expensive food or having a really nice home and material possessions doesnt make you an elitist.

His attitude, his "i'm better than you" attitude, and his public image (real or otherwise) make him look like an elitist. His choice of arugula and 100 dollar ham is just the result of his mentality.

btw, the definition:

The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

It could be applied to Obama in this context, i believe.

Obama isn't an elitist.

He just can't understand why arugula is so expensive at Whole Foods, and when he raises money from millionaires in San Francisco, he describes the hicks in Pennsylvania as turning to guns and religion when times get tough.

But don't call him an elitist.

He doesn’t have convicted terrorists holding fundraisers.

Trying to kill soldiers on a US Army base is fine and dandy as long as one isn't convicted, isn't that right, you unpatriotic puke?

Your Obamarxist served on boards with this guy, and launched his first election from this guys house, you deceptive turd.

On July 2nd, 2008 at 1:51 pm, Rusty said:

I think "elitist" is a pretty good descriptor for Obama, Rusty. The things you cite, by themselves, would not qualify him. But, coupled together, along with other things, like the "bitter" comments back in the Pennsylvania primary, etc. would.

And, no, I would not care to try "$100/lb ham." In my neck-of-the-woods, country ham is the preference, especially if it is one you cure yourself. ;-)

Well I have wanted to leave for over five years now. We had a vote, we are somewhat democratic here, well most of the time anyway, before my last went to high school and I lost. But all bets are off now I’m free, free to go where ever I decide. I have been researching where to go and it isn’t easy. I have eliminated any perimeter states from my list, living here for as long as I have I can spot not so easily seen trends and in many cases I don’t like what I see. Take in to consideration that I saw the slippery slope when we were just hearing about the nannies attacking cigarettes, I saw the writing on the wall I knew where it would lead and I was not wrong. I have relatives and friends in most of the fifty states I could go anywhere two of them recently bought a house in Colorado I wonder how they feel about the African national anthem being sung there recently?

I have narrowed it down to a few states in the western center of the country, thought about moving to Nevada but coming from a state that has Boxer and Feinstein I cant stomach moving to a state where Harry is the man, I consider that a step down. So good luck finding a place to go, but again, it ain’t easy. To steal a line from a prominent leftist, yes we can! My brothers are gone my father is gone most of my friends are gone, I feel like the Omega Man but I know I’m not alone. Just read MM’s site for awhile, there are many others just like me here but we are islands in a sea of insanity greed and narcissism. I had it worse though, when I joined the military they sent this southern Californian to northern Ca. Yep a Socal serviceman in San Francisco and to top it off I rented a place in what was at the time the murder capital of the country. Hey I didn’t know but I did wonder why there were so few people on the street and the rent was so affordable. Talk about Indian country, anything else is gravy. I think back to my late night walks to the neighborhood jack in the box and I say to myself, what an idiot.
