Mumia Abu Jamal won’t go away
Mumia Abu Jamal, the unrepentant Death Row murderer who killed Philly police officer Daniel Faulkner (and otherwise known to the European press as a “human rights campaigner“), files yet another appeal.
Enough already:
Pennsylvania death-row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal has asked a federal appeals court to reconsider the decision that denied him a new trial in the 1981 slaying of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner.
In late March, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit left intact Abu-Jamal’s conviction but said a new jury should decide whether he deserved death or should be sentenced to life behind bars.
In court papers docketed today, Robert R. Bryan, the San Francisco lawyer representing Abu-Jamal with Widener University law professor Judith Ritter, asked the three-judge panel and the full Third Circuit court to take another look.
They contended that the panel should have ordered a hearing on Abu-Jamal’s contention that prosecutors intentionally excluded blacks from his jury in violation of a later 1986 U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Reader Mark A. writes, “Is it just me, or is the defense just regurgitating the same argument over and over?”

Run that by me one more time?
In other words, grasping for straws…
I’ve lost count. How many trials and appeals has this vermin had? If his own brother refused to testify in his defense, then why should this case continue?
i hope the next governor sets a date.
What’s with these left wing morons and their orgasams over Dictators, Tyrants and Murderers?
I Say Kill Him… Kill Him Now!
Great, another Tookie Williams saga.
If he was an unborn child in the womb, the left would have no problem executing him.
But convicted murderers - where the death penalty can be applied? No. Protect the dignity and sanctity of life!
You haven’t “arrived” as a liberal lawyer if you haven’t had a hand in getting a murderer freed or supported a terrorist in your career.
/sarc
If he was in a PETA-run animal shelter, he would have been put down by now.
Preposterous! How could such a claim even be proven beyond a reasonable doubt?
What are Jamal’s lawyers going to ask for next, a mistrial on the grounds Jamal had a hangnail and was in such pain he couldn’t think clearly enough to aid in his own defense?
At the risk of being both calloused and sadistic at the same time, perhaps he should be released…right in the middle of the nearest Police Academy during full firearms drill.
Let a freshly minted officer re-enact the event with a little 70s-era, feel-good-about-others role reversal.
Should be over in a few minutes.
Just one more chance for the LEFT to torture the poor WIDOW of a true AMERICAN HERO. The bleeding hearts will take this to the max, for as long as they can. What a bunch of CRAPWEASELS!!!
Oh for gods sake, do they really think the guy is not guilty because a black person wasn’t on the jury? Give me the rifle and this will be over in about 20 seconds. Grow a pair and execute the SOB.
Well, at least I know what to expect here in the People’s Republic of Santa Cruz: more protests on behalf of THIS guy, so they can take a break from their “Bush is a War Criminal” rants.

Take him out back of the prison.
Shoot him in the head. Quick, painless and therefore legal since its not cruel or unusual punishment.
Mail the bill for the bullet and the time officials used to execute him and mail it to his family.
This guy has had enough appeals and enough use of precious oxygen. Lets stop his spread of CO2 (and global warming!!!!) at the first opportunity.
If he were in Texas they would have already waxed his a$$. I’ve always said they spend entirley to much killing these slimey ba$t@rds a firing squad of 7 guards already getting paid to do a job would cost about $1.19 with .22 cal bullets.
If his lawyers would use their heads they’d have the appeal transferred to the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, where their idiot judges would not only free him, they’d probably apologize for his imprisonment and give him a new car and house. This man should have been hung long ago. Idiotic.
Hell, mail it to me!
Set an execution date. Tomorrow sounds nice
To give you an idea of the difference between a liberal and a Conservative by their definition of a hero:
Liberal hero: Mumia Abu-Jamal
Conservative hero: Colonel Bud Day
This tells us everything we need to know.
I’m sure Will Ferrell has a tingle going up his leg right now.
This is one of those cases that REALLY brings home the need to HATE the Left. A number of years ago that punk Ed Asner really ripped into the widow of Officer Danny Faulkner telling her she was mean and vincitive and did not know what she was talking about. Even Asner’s butt buddy Mike Farrell had a hard time with that.
http://www.danielfaulkner.com/
Maureen Faulkner reminds all that NO one from the Left came to help her and her children, just cops. But the Left has attacked her for years.
Great more Mumia crap awaiting for whenever I go downtown or get on the subway. I wonder if Fast Eddy realizes that this 20 year delay has only caused more cops to get shot.
The deceased officer’s widow still shows up to fight the good fight. Hollywood asshats like Mike Farrell also continue to carry water for scumwad Mumia. Amazing all the time and money wasted on the poor death row inmates and how the Euroweenies absolutely adulate Mumia and other cold blooded killers. Ira Eichorn is another who comes to mind, but in his case the French protected him for his many years in hiding.
Someone earlier in posting said Mumia should be hung. The correct word would be hanged. If partial birth abortion to innocents is not deemed cruel and inhumane, why can’t we do the same with abu jamal- insert scissors in brain and suck out his evil brain matter?
Very recently the killer of a child was put to death here in Florida by lethal injection despite his appeals that it was cruel and inhumane. Some places get it right, including the big Star state.
Execute him. Now.
Wow, one has to admit, this is pretty impressive. On a bleaker note, this is a symptom of a greater problem in our culture: legalism. Since we’re no longer a “self-governing” society, due mainly to our collective intellectual apathy, moral cowardice, and overactive ids, we’ve resorted to legalism to solve all of our problems. One symptom of legalism is that there is never an end to the discussion. We used to have the rule of law, where motive and action were weighed and measured to determine one’s innocence or guilt. Now we’ve forsaken the entire process of finding the overall verdict to nitpicking irrelavent aspects of the process itself. It’s no wonder movies like “Boondock Saints,” “Spider-man,” “Batman,” etc. are so popular. Most Americans are tired of this crap, but feel powerless to change it, whereas the “elites” have embraced it.
sorry for the bad grammar earlier, was in a rush
but ok, i’ll mail the bill to whoever wants it
Poor Mumia Abu-Jabba Labba Ding Dong.
I say we kill him!
Yeah!
I say we hang him, *then* we kill him!
Yeah!
I say we stomp him!
Yeah!
Then we tattoo him!
Yeah!
Then we hang him…!
YEAH!’!
And then we kill him!
YEAH!’!'!
(Regrets to the authors of PEE WEES GREATEST ADVENTURE).
A Pee-Wee and a Batman reference in the same thread? Didn’t know you guys were such big Tim Burton fans.
I hate the death penalty. I have no problem with Mumia spending the rest of this life in a cell. The people who lionize this cop killer are woefully misguided.
Need I say more? *giggles*
Rusty, the state decided to execute him and he should have been executed 15 years ago. I think the death penalty should be used more often. Child rapists for example should be executed by castration. The left cares far to much about these sub-human scum.
Wesley must die. That’s this turd’s name: Wesley Cook. Bimbo Jujube is his stage name.
According to Wikipedia, “He was given the name Mumia in 1968 by his high school teacher, a Kenyan instructing a class on African cultures in which students took African classroom names.”
What? Was Barack already taken by the time it was Wesley’s turn?
Sam Donaldson did a great report a few years back de-bunking all of the arguments for even the slightest possibility this man is not guilty. The same crowd with the Che t-shirts runs around about this guy without the slightest clue that he is a cold blooded cop killer.
At the least, by finally executing Mumia( I gag when I just type his filthy name) the appeals would stop…. let’s see the nimrods who would mourn his death…. I’d love to laugh at them. And before a fool asks me what about Mumia’s family, let me put it to rest, I don’t particularly care.
Then just type his real name instead: Wesley.
H-a-a-a-a-y Weth.
In the Russian penal system, once a person is found guilty of murder, they are immediately taken back to the prison and shot. Their bodies are buried at the prison. I personally would rather not have capital punishment, but if you are going to execute murderers, just do it! Years of court appeals does not a deterrent make.
The current gov of PA, Ed Rendell, was the District Att’y in Philly when the murder took place…go figure. Of course he’s not going to sign the death warrant…he’d be damaging his political power base.
just let the guy go, drop him off outside phillys city limits about 2a.m. and see if he makes it back to the city.
Hey aj,
They don’t call it Killadelphia for nothing.
What I cannot fathom is the logic behind those on the left who worship killers and have no problem with abortion on demand at any time in the womb. So someone completely innocent may be terminated as a matter of choice, but the proven guilty and sentenced to die killer needs forgiveness and rehabiltation? Or you’ll see some serial killer on death row who claims they’ve found Christ and been born again and should just be forgiven. All those weeping for killers have no problem showing contempt for the actual victims and families who get no appeals at all. Or you get a farce like OJ living in the white world and benefiting from his blackness while on trial. Jury nullification and freedom to enjoy more life and even avoid paying out any monies as ordered in the civil case. His 25k monthly pension is exempt, for example. Celebrities sure benefit from public fascination with their lives. Does anyone think Robert Blake was innocent or that Phil Spector?? How many lives was Charlie Manson responsible for destroying? And yet he sits in prison, filing appeals every so often while he does art that some people are fascinated with and wish to own.
JUST WAIT FOR THE GITMO TRIALS.
UNFRICKIN BELIEVABLE
Die Hippy
Even on such a bitter topic, ya made me laugh…. thanks!
it’s not a death penalty so much as that he needs to be not living anymore..
and anything to hasten that will make this world a better place..
I don’t mean this to be some sort of Orwellian doublespeak.. I’m all for capitol punishment..
whooops, forgot this:
find out what really happened here;

Buy the book by Faulkner’s wife & Smerconish.
Michelle, do you have an Amazon link?
I just put a new barrel on one of my
M-1 Garands. I need a target. Send Mumia to mee-ah.
Remember that in Leftist-Hippie-Boomer parlance, all he did was “off a Pig”. (I apologise for even using that term, but let us remind ourselves of what these radicals of the 60’s and 70’s said and thought about police officers) In the American Leftist weltanschauung, that is simply a revolutionary act in retribution for police mistreatment of black people in general, and as such should be forgiven him.
Once again, the Left shows whose life has value, and whose has none. Daniel Faulkner, just some white pig, to them. Mumia? Revolutionary hero complete with blood on his hands, a cool name, and black skin. A perfect victim, a perfect hero.
I oppose the death penalty on religious and moral grounds, but this guy should spend his life in lockdown, and media blackout.
Can’t this guy get hit by lightning or something? It’s not as though the state’s going to do anything…
The liberals who supported this guy only show they are motivated by bandwagonism and moral blindness. How many of them are protected by off-duty cops at their concerts? How many of their bodyguards were former cops or military? Don’t they rely on police protection of their mansions? Yet Mr. Faulkner was expendable.
In Pennsylvania there is also the case of George Banks, a mass murderer (13 people) who has been on death row since the early 1980’s. He’s been thru the court system so many times that he could top Mumia in hearings. Sadly, we have a legal system, not a justice system. 30 appeals is crazy.
Liberal Srtategy is always the same.
Obfuscate, muddy up the water.
Marketing, stir up the water.
Repeat until someone relents.
I love the death penalty. I would extend it to a lot more people if I could, and we don’t use it nearly enough. Hang ‘em from the highest tree.
The death penalty works every time its been applied…
Our justice system is so concerned over murderers’ rights, they forget the victims’ rights. I thought we were against torture (or so they tell us). What about the torture these victims must go through, year after year? It is almost come to the point where a death sentence and a life sentence are one and the same. The only ones getting anything out of this, is the lawyers.
Psalm 37:9-10 For evil men will be cut off,…a little while and the wicked will be no more, though you look for them, they will not be found.
How long oh Lord, how long?
I once saw a bumper sticker that was pink with black (can I say that?) writing. There was a picture of Mumia on the left with the caption on the right that said “Free Mumia.” The car was coming from Sebastopol, CA. If that tells you anything.
Personally, I’d like to see the same bumper sticker but with a picture of Mumia with his dreadlocks sticking straight out and his teeth clenched in a grimmace of pain. The caption should read “Fry Mumia.”
When does this freaking nightmare end?
Or Here
I am strongly against the death penalty but strongly support that this convicted killer be locked away in isolation for 23 1/2 hours per day, 7 days per week for the rest of his life with NO CONTACT with the outside world. This is not cruel and unusual punishment this is fair justice.
Lets support an amendment to the US Constitution which outlaws the death penalty but mandates life imprisonment in solitary confinement for anyone convicted of murder (all degrees, no insanity defenses) or forcible rape. This is what would become a true deterrent
So basically, they needed to have ESP in order to avoid the decision of 5 years later????
He should be granted a new trial because of a law that didn’t exist for 5 more years????
Un-FREAKING-believable!!!!
Throw this out of court, kill the SOB, and arrest, try, and convict his supporters for aiding and abetting this worthless chunk of animal waste shoved into a dread-lock encrusted boy-bag, before another graduating class invites him to speak…or he starts writing children’s books.
