15 things you should know about “The Race”
With the La Raza twins scheduled to speak at the National Council of La Raza this Saturday, I devoted my syndicated column today to telling the truth about “The Race.” I’ve blogged these points before, but they are worth repeating as McCain, Obama, and the press whitewash “The Race’s” open-borders radicalism.
Stefan Sharkansky at Sound Politics reports that a new La Raza/The Race preschool has opened up in Seattle–subsidized with tax dollars. Meanwhile, San Diego has gone ahead and passed its mayoral-backed resolution declaring La Raza/The Race Day. Here’s video. Those who protested the decision were slammed as…racists.

15 things you should know about “The Race”

Only in America could critics of a group called “The Race” be labeled racists. Such is the triumph of left-wing identity chauvinists, whose aggressive activists and supine abettors have succeeded in redefining all opposition as “hate.”
Both Barack Obama and John McCain will speak this week in San Diego at the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza, the Latino organization whose name is Spanish for, yes, “The Race.” Can you imagine Obama and McCain paying homage to a group of white people that called themselves that? No matter. The presidential candidates and the media have legitimized “The Race” as a mainstream ethnic lobbying group and marginalized “The Race’s” critics as intolerant bigots. The unvarnished truth is that the group is a radical ethnic nationalist outfit that abuses your tax dollars and milks p.c. politics to undermine our sovereignty.
Here are 15 things you should know about “The Race:”
15. “The Race” supports driver’s licenses for illegal aliens.
14.”The Race” demands in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding US citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.
13. “The Race” vehemently opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state, and federal authorities.
12. “The Race” opposes a secure fence on the southern border.
11. “The Race” joined the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in a failed lawsuit attempt to prevent the feds from entering immigration information into a key national crime database–and to prevent local police officers from accessing the data.
10. “The Race” opposed the state of Oklahoma’s tough immigration enforcement-first laws, which cut off welfare to illegal aliens, put teeth in employer sanctions, and strengthened local-federal cooperation and information-sharing.
9. “The Race” joined other open-borders, anti-assimilationists and sued to prevent Proposition 227, California’s bilingual education reform ballot initiative, from becoming law.
8. “The Race” bitterly protested common-sense voter ID provisions as an “absolute disgrace.”
7. “The Race” has consistently opposed post-9/11 national security measures at every turn.
6. Former “Race” president Raul Yzaguirre, Hillary Clinton’s Hispanic outreach advisor said this: “US English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks.” He was referring to US English the nation’s oldest, largest citizens’ action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States. “The Race” also pioneered Orwellian open-borders Newspeak and advised the Mexican government on how to lobby for illegal alien amnesty while avoiding the terms “illegal” and “amnesty.”
5. “The Race” gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), which the late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized as “a radical racist group…[and] one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.”
4. “The Race” is currently leading a smear campaign against staunch immigration enforcement leaders and has called for TV and cable news netowrks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwaves–in addition to pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes. The New York Times reported that current “Race” president Janet Murguia believes “hate speech” should “not be tolerated, even if such censorship were a violation of First Amendment rights.”
3. “The Race” sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars (at least $8 million in federal education grants). The schools include “Aztlan Academy” in Tucson, AZ, the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, AZ, Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn., and Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles, whose principal inveighed: “We don’t want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don’t need a White water fountain…ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction.”
2. “The Race” has perfected the art of the p.c. shakedown at taxpayer expense, pushing relentlessly to lower home loan standards for Hispanic borrowers, reaping millions in federal “mortgage counseling” grants, seeking special earmarks, and partnering with banks that do business with illegal aliens.
1. “The Race” thrives on ethnic supremacy–and the elite sheeple’s unwillingness to call it what it is. As historian Victor Davis Hanson observes: “[The] organization’s very nomenclature ‘The National Council of La Raza’ is hate speech to the core. Despite all the contortions of the group, Raza (as its Latin cognate suggests), reflects the meaning of ‘race”‘ in Spanish, not ‘the people’ — and that’s precisely why we don’t hear of something like ‘The National Council of the People’ which would not confer the buzz notion of ethnic, racial, and tribal chauvinism.”
The fringe is the center. The center is the fringe. Viva La Raza.

Boy I regret teaching you that word.
Bill Grant trolled in and lied #92
You didn’t teach me anything, Bill, except that you’re a liar and a troll. All you’re doing now is continuing to confirm it.
Mommy, Mommy.
I don’t know Michelle personally but I have read plenty of her stuff and one thing I do know is that she at least understands that all of these “race” groups are nothing but race hustlers who are being aided by most of the power structure to our own peril and demise. They do exactly what we in a supposed “colorblind” society are taught we are not supposed to do. That the same rules don’t apply to everyone and most importantly she also understands what makes America great. What made America great and what unites us and gives us the backbone we have or at least used to have.
IR to you and Mr Johnson the only real issue is the “Muslim extremist” and not the massive invading hoards who are just as detrimental and in fact even more so as they wholesale change cultures and displace populations with no attempt to adopt and for the most part insist we must accommodate them. You insist there is a NAZI around every corner. That everyone who takes a stand wants to exterminate millions of people. Then blatantly ignore the detrimental and genocidal effect of these massive unabated invasions. At least they are standing up. At least they act like they are a people. At least they are not intimidated to protect themselves. At least they realize what they are losing. At least they realize they in fact do have their own culture and nation. They are not some damn universal experiment that protects everyone’s culture and race except for that of their own.
I continue to be very concerned about what I’m reading here at MM, and I hope that Michelle is as well.
I too am concerned about what is happening here on Michelle’s website – with certain people here calling it a site for hate speech, and those same people attacking Conservatives.
What can be done about it, I wonder????
Jettisoning needy, emotionally immature provocateurs like you who bring absolutely nothing to the debate except to show up at the end of every single discussion thread to flame and provoke, stage yet another narcissistic display of “look at me!” behaviors, rally a group of “supporters”, and shut down any further conversation would be very helpful.
You make Michelle look like an idiot because you bring the level of discourse down to the grade school level the moment that you show up, JHS… but you just can’t help yourself, can you?
Why do you think I was talking about you, Irish Rose? Guilty conscience perhaps?
You might try a little less projecting. It would do you – and the rest of us too – at least a small amount of good.
Michelle, I don’t disagree with you about illegal immigration. Quite the contrary, in fact.
But your posts about illegal immigration and La Raza are bringing a lot of racist, supremacist wierdos out of the woodwork and I beg you to start monitoring your comments a little more closely.
I know that you can’t be here 24/7 but disclaimer aside, these comments really do reflect poorly on you as the owner of this blog, as they would any blog or site administrator.
If you don’t support the notion of “hating Mexicans in general” then why allow those who do have a problem with “hating Mexicans in general” to post racist, bigoted comments on your blog or support those who do?
You’re a highly respected Conservative blogger; if you’re interested in protecting and promoting your brand, these are the type of comments that are going to rob you of your credibility. You’re going to be labeled a ‘bigot’ whether you agree with these people or not.
I’m a longtime reader and I enjoy coming here to read your usually excellent commentary. I implore you to consider if this is really the direction that you really want this blog to go.
I for one am not interested in rubbing shoulders with racist bigots. There are other Conservative blogs out there and I’ll go elsewhere, if this is the direction that you’re going to take here at MM.
Respectfully, IR
and here Irish Rose calls Michelle Malkin and the Conservatives who post here “racist bigots”. Whoa.
This comes just after a little diatribe against me accusing me of doing the very things she herself does in the very next post.
I’m impressed.

Since you posted this publicly it obviously is not intended for just MM. The only one losing “credibility” is you IR. When the Mexicans of the “hating Mexicans in general” start standing up against the invasion and groups like LaRaza then we may find common ground but you are the exact kind of person that “haters” and “racist” like LaRaza love because they know they can push you in a corner and make you continually back up with calling you names all the while promoting their one way racism, culture, RACE, perspective and agenda.
Respectfully, AlturaCt.
For the love of God Michelle, would you PLEASE get rid of this idiot?
Yeesh, enough already!

A convenient excuse, but racism is racism and it doesn’t fly. I despise people who use this arguement as a platform for their bigotry.
Actually no, I’m just a person who believes that any man or woman from Mexico who comes to this country legally and follows the correct path to citizenship is deserving of respect from people like you.
As I’ve stated before and often, I think we have a real problem with illegal immigration in this country and we need to work harder to resolve it.
But I despise the so-called “Christian” conservatives who hate Muslims, Asians and Mexicans simply because they are Muslims, Asians and Mexicans and jump on board the “immigration” train to spread lies, hatred, bigotry and fear.
Deal with the illegals, yes… it must be done.
But open hatred for those who are legal citizens of this great Nation simply because they come from Mexico or the Middle East or somewhere else, is WRONG and it should have no place in Conservative discourse.
This is America. Do we welcome those who come to this country legally and follow the correct path to citizenship, or don’t we?
On the issue of immigration, far too many CINO’s practice a level of hypocrisy that is nothing less than stunning.
Some here might wonder why I’m so sensitive on the issue of immigration.
Check out “Gangs of New York”, and then get back to me.
This guy has also seen the film… and on the issue of immigration, he’s a Christian conservative who “gets it”.
He provides a reality check that frankly, a lot of CINO’s here could really use.
There’s no “lies, hatred, bigotry and fear” from Conservatives. These are all descriptions of the left.
Seeing as how you think we’re all a bunch of intolerant haters, Irish Rose, why do you stick around?
On July 10th, 2008 at 11:03 am, JHSII said:
You just keep on spinning that bit, JHS. It might just prevent intelligent conservatives from actually taking a closer look at what actually goes on in the name of “conservatism”.
Of course I never said that.
But don’t let it stop you from banking on the ignorance of some of the more apathetic participants here to post lies like this one.
Your whole world revolves around discrediting people who disagree with your position using whatever means necessary, and you lie constantly to do so.
You need help, seriously.
You keep on projecting Irish Rose. Don’t let threats of intelligent conversation get in your way!
I really don’t mind taking the heat on this issue alone.
But I find it to be both a shame and a disgrace that I’m seemingly the only one here who believes that racism and bigotry have no place in Conservative discourse, and cares enough about right and wrong to come forward and say so.
There is no racism or bigotry in Conservative discourse. I suppose though, if you’re seeing what you want to see rather than what is actually there, that you can see racism and bigotry anywhere you look.

So tell me JHS, what exactly do you see in #10?
Then leave. What an *ss you are. You disagree with 90% of all posters here who love MM. Then whine to her about “concerned”. Next thing “comprehensive” and “tolerance” and “multiculutral” will be flowing from you.
AlturaCT, you are right on about the European conservative groups VB, etc. irish rose links a bunch of liberal op ed pices from liberal rags to show how “racist” they are. I too beleive they are seeing the writing on the wall and trying to stop it before it is too late. They simply don’t want the immigrants coming into their countries and demanding teh natives change their 1000 year old culture to fit the immigrants. They, like me, also beleive we have too many immigrants and it is changing the dynamics of the society (a society that has functioned very well for centuries). Europe like us no longer requires the immigrants to be of value to the society. Merely, that thye are immigrants.
In post #10 I see Irish Rose complaining that this is becoming a hate blog now. I see Irish Rose attacking posters here as “overtly racist”. I see Irish Rose attacking Michelle Malkin over “journalistic integrity” – even though Irish Rose can’t read the disclaimer at the top of every comments section that says:
Finally I see Irish Rose telling Michelle Malkin how to run her own website.
In short, I see what’s actually there, not just what I want to see.
On July 10th, 2008 at 7:08 am, JHSII sniveled and whined:
In the way that you can “teach” a parrot, sure. Again, want to try for something more difficult? Give this a go:
“Polly wanna cracker?”
Good boy…
Where have I lied? Isn’t it a bit infantile to call someone a liar when you just don’t want to hear what they have to say? Isn’t that what a big crybaby would do?
You got something on your nose their kiddo. You so crave acceptance, don’t you?
SOP for Bill Grant: Lies, trolling, name-calling, and attacks on Conservatives.
When you’re willing to discuss anything in a mature, intelligent manner then we can actually have a conversation.
White Nationalism is a disease, a malignant cancer.
I could give you a dozen examples of Vlaams Belang being directly linked with European neonazi fascists, but you already have your mind made up about it so why bother?
If you’re open to factual evidence however, then google LGF Vlaams Belang. Charles Johnson has been tireless in exposing European neonazi fascists for what they are, and uncovering their deception and connections with Vlaams Belang and the BNP. Europe has a huge problem that has absolutely nothing to do with immigrants.
Then you can go over to David Dukes’ website (I won’t link it out of respect to Michelle) and read statements like this:
Then you can read this:
Or, you can simply choose to remain ignorant.
Your call.
Antisemitic fascism is on the rise again in Europe and has attached itself to the anti-jihad movement in order to re-enter the mainstream. The internet has opened up a whole new world of global communication, where ideas are expressed in an instant and accessible to nearly all. European fascists are now able to reach across the pond to hold hands with anti-Jew, anti-Muslim, anti-Latino anti-immigration White Nationalist “conservatives” in the states and the intensity of their effort is absolutely frightening.
It’s scary as hell, and true conservatives in this country who think that the days of the KKK are in the past just sit back and let it happen. They see White Nationalism in full flower with their own eyes, but their brains don’t seem to absorb what they’re seeing because they don’t want to see it.
I’ll say it again: intelligent, thinking Conservatives have to start being more aware of what is being said and done in the name of “conservatism”. And when they see anything that smacks of racist bigotry they need to SPEAK UP.
Because there are those among us who are anything but “Conservative”.
You aren’t a consirvative, conservatives have jobs. You do not speak for “conservatives”, just basement apartment dwelling, Cheeto’s eating lonely little people who are desperately looking for approval from an online peer group.
As if you had anything intelligent to discuss.
You guys have your own little private blog war going on here… lol… have fun.
I think there is something in this message for everyone here…maybe.
#119 right-on
Everyone who is anti-immigration has a different modus operandi, it seems.
So you dislike Mexican immigrants because they insist on speaking their native tongue and have the audacity to do so even after they learn English. Okee dokee.
Do you have the same animosity towards Asians who don’t speak English? How about Indians?
I agree that all immigrants who apply for citizenship should be required to take classes in English. This is a reasonable requirement and I think that most immigrants to this country are more than willing, as English is a difficult language to learn and learning it is widely considered to be an accomplishment.
I have a real problem with people who “demand” that Mexicans or any other ethnic group dispose of their native language and speak only the language of Europeans.
My Irish ancestors had their language (Irish Gaelic) supressed and then outlawed by Europeans because the English decided that it would make them “easier to govern”. Families were separated and people were murdered and imprisoned for daring to speak in their Mother tongue.
The Irish were so brutally punished for using their native tongue that today older Irish citizens and Irish Americans still bear a sad sense of shame for using the language that they had previously spoken for 2,500 years.
The human spirit being what it is, trying to supress the native tongue of an ethnic group in order to control them rarely works.
On 13/06/05, Irish Gaelic was been unanimously approved by EU foreign ministers as the 21st official working language of the European Union.
IR, you have yet to espouse anything on this board that I would consdier conservative. That is the problem today. The conservative GOP has been infiltrated by moderates such as yourself, which have redefined conservativism to be this touchy feely centrist full of compassion (hence the out of control spending in the gov’t by Repubs). And anyone who is right of center becomes a far right nutjob. Good luck with your mcamensty support for POTUS. You are going to need it.

So much for Reagan’s “Big Tent”. (Almost forgot, today he would have been shouted down as a RINO and a traitor.)
“Infiltrated”? In order to win elections you need to get votes. In order to get votes you have to connect with the people. We had a series of primaries that saw a dozen or so legitimate Republican contenders wheedled down to one. John McCain (82% lifetime consirvative rating) got more votes then say Fred Thompson. (86% lifetime consirvative rating.)
In other words, we (the GOP, as I actually am registered as a member of the Republican party) could have run the “Weary Citizen ‘08″ ticket (heh, not too far from the reality of the situation I have to admit) in the primaries and come out with pretty much the same conclusion.
Well he probably wont win. We are pprobably going to have a president Obama. A full on socialist who is going to surrender to islamist terrorists and have a REAL Amnesty program that will forever change the character of this country that I love.
But you will have the luxury of standing on the stern of the sinking ship that was once the USA and saying “I helped Obama to be elected because McCain wasn’t enough of a “consirvative”.
Not a very consirvative position if you ask me.
I will say this. I agree about he narrow view I have sometimes. There are many who would call me a liberal b/c I don’t care one bit about abortion either way. Its a non issue for me. What has disappointed me more than anything is the RNC tacit, if not outright, support of entitlement growth and especially immigration. The shift of many of the leaders to “comprehensive immigration reform” (aka amnesty) was the final straw for me. I was not happy they began to suck up the PC kool aid, but I stayed with them. The amnesty push by mcamensty and bush, among other high ranking repubs, soured me on the party altogether. It does not mean I don’t vote for repubs, I do, I just don’t vote for anyone who supports amensty under any name. That is my biggest issue and there is not an ounce of difference between mcanesty and obama on that subject. Please spare me the obama is worse on it too.
But he IS…
…sigh….
