With the La Raza twins scheduled to speak at the National Council of La Raza this Saturday, I devoted my syndicated column today to telling the truth about “The Race.” I’ve blogged these points before, but they are worth repeating as McCain, Obama, and the press whitewash “The Race’s” open-borders radicalism.
Stefan Sharkansky at Sound Politics reports that a new La Raza/The Race preschool has opened up in Seattle–subsidized with tax dollars. Meanwhile, San Diego has gone ahead and passed its mayoral-backed resolution declaring La Raza/The Race Day. Here’s video. Those who protested the decision were slammed as…racists.

Only in America could critics of a group called “The Race” be labeled racists. Such is the triumph of left-wing identity chauvinists, whose aggressive activists and supine abettors have succeeded in redefining all opposition as “hate.”
Both Barack Obama and John McCain will speak this week in San Diego at the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza, the Latino organization whose name is Spanish for, yes, “The Race.” Can you imagine Obama and McCain paying homage to a group of white people that called themselves that? No matter. The presidential candidates and the media have legitimized “The Race” as a mainstream ethnic lobbying group and marginalized “The Race’s” critics as intolerant bigots. The unvarnished truth is that the group is a radical ethnic nationalist outfit that abuses your tax dollars and milks p.c. politics to undermine our sovereignty.
Here are 15 things you should know about “The Race:”
15. “The Race” supports driver’s licenses for illegal aliens.
14.”The Race” demands in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding US citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.
13. “The Race” vehemently opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state, and federal authorities.
12. “The Race” opposes a secure fence on the southern border.
11. “The Race” joined the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in a failed lawsuit attempt to prevent the feds from entering immigration information into a key national crime database–and to prevent local police officers from accessing the data.
10. “The Race” opposed the state of Oklahoma’s tough immigration enforcement-first laws, which cut off welfare to illegal aliens, put teeth in employer sanctions, and strengthened local-federal cooperation and information-sharing.
9. “The Race” joined other open-borders, anti-assimilationists and sued to prevent Proposition 227, California’s bilingual education reform ballot initiative, from becoming law.
8. “The Race” bitterly protested common-sense voter ID provisions as an “absolute disgrace.”
7. “The Race” has consistently opposed post-9/11 national security measures at every turn.
6. Former “Race” president Raul Yzaguirre, Hillary Clinton’s Hispanic outreach advisor said this: “US English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks.” He was referring to US English the nation’s oldest, largest citizens’ action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States. “The Race” also pioneered Orwellian open-borders Newspeak and advised the Mexican government on how to lobby for illegal alien amnesty while avoiding the terms “illegal” and “amnesty.”
5. “The Race” gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), which the late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized as “a radical racist group…[and] one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.”
4. “The Race” is currently leading a smear campaign against staunch immigration enforcement leaders and has called for TV and cable news netowrks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwaves–in addition to pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes. The New York Times reported that current “Race” president Janet Murguia believes “hate speech” should “not be tolerated, even if such censorship were a violation of First Amendment rights.”
3. “The Race” sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars (at least $8 million in federal education grants). The schools include “Aztlan Academy” in Tucson, AZ, the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, AZ, Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn., and Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles, whose principal inveighed: “We don’t want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don’t need a White water fountain…ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction.”
2. “The Race” has perfected the art of the p.c. shakedown at taxpayer expense, pushing relentlessly to lower home loan standards for Hispanic borrowers, reaping millions in federal “mortgage counseling” grants, seeking special earmarks, and partnering with banks that do business with illegal aliens.
1. “The Race” thrives on ethnic supremacy–and the elite sheeple’s unwillingness to call it what it is. As historian Victor Davis Hanson observes: “[The] organization’s very nomenclature ‘The National Council of La Raza’ is hate speech to the core. Despite all the contortions of the group, Raza (as its Latin cognate suggests), reflects the meaning of ‘race”‘ in Spanish, not ‘the people’ — and that’s precisely why we don’t hear of something like ‘The National Council of the People’ which would not confer the buzz notion of ethnic, racial, and tribal chauvinism.”

If McCain wants my vote (and I am a Conservative) – why is he at La Raza?
The answer is painfully obvious. He doesn’t think he needs it. Conservatives are supposed to be “in the bag.” McCain takes conservatives for granted the same way Dems do to black voters.

Issues will win elections if the politician is willing to take a stand and stay put.

Boy MM this one should sure generate a lot of response… For two MAJOR pols to BOW to the wishes of such a RACIST GROUP as LA RAZA just baffles me. This is no different than MR. Of course, the La Raza meeting comes on the heels of yesterday’s meeting with the “League of United Latin American Citizens” (what a joke). Here’s typical Juan McCain shoving it in the face of all the McCainaanites who’ve screamed at us here, “But he’s changed! He says he’s going to secure the border!!!”

McCain has been disingenuous about this from the start, carefully choosing his words of, “Americans want the border secured first”, knowing that most people will ignore the “then” that follows.
It is time (well past due) that we have a national primary day or days, divide the country into three groups not just geographic and then we may not get saddled with choices some of us never had a chance in deciding the outcome. this current system is a joke.
This other McCain quote should be a slap in the face to every American, included Irish Rose:
“Many Americans, with good cause, didn’t believe us when we said we would secure our borders, and so we failed in our efforts.”
AJ, I cannot get behind that for two major reasons:
1) political parties control their primaries and how their delegates are allotted and candidates chosen.
2) it is a state’s sovereign right to hold an election (minus federal elections) whenever and however they choose.
Please do not advocate the abdication of states rights.

IR, I now understand why you support mcamensty. You are obviously one of those “compassionate conservatives”. You obviously support mcamensty’s policies. That’s cool, but then don’t pretend you are a conservative who is holding thier nose and voting for this horrible candidate. You throw around the race card as much as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
Now, as for the hispanic invasion we are experiencing, that is a major problem. What, I can’t say hispanic w/o being called a biggot? Look, our forefathers understood we can not have too many immigrants from one nation or distinct culture. To do so, endangers the “melting pot” as the groups will not assimilate unless forced to. Hence why we have had moratoriums on immigraiton in the past. We can easily see the impact of allowing too many hispanics to immigrate here (not to even mention the illegal version). They begin pushing for spanish over english. They refuse to assimilate. They congregate in “barrios” where everyhting is in spnaish. They fly their native flags over the US flag. Their loyalties are split. They begin forming powerful groups to push their own ethnic agenda (eg la raza, lulac, etc). Therefore, we MUST reduce immigration levels from hispanic (and all for that fact) countries in order to allow the melting pot to work. So does calling a spade “a spade” make me a racist? No it just means I have not let PC, or fear of being called names, blind me to the obvious. La raza is a dangerous orgnanization that is using our “compassion” and PC against us. And for the record, I grew up in Texas nand have had and still have friends of hispanic origin who don’t think I am racist (as I am sure you beleive). The difference between my friends and the newest arrivals is they see themselves as Americans, not mexicnas or whatever nationality. If we do not act to curb the growing power of these ethnic groups advocating their own race over others, then our children will pay a very high price. Of course, that remains tobe seen, but I say why take a chance wiht my and all americans children’s future? All risk with little return is not a good gamble.
Having strong feelings on racial issues does not make me a racist. One of the reasons myself and many other people are soooo ready to explode is because we have been expected to be PC instead of being allowed to voice a legitimate complaint and concern.

If you noticed my link earlier showing the huge discrepancy of Mexicans to other races in Los Angeles schools, (here again) you will notice that whites are a real minority.
Well, there are support groups for Mexicans, MEChA. Blacks, African American Club. Asians, Asian Club. Even Pacific Islanders have their own club, the Pacific Islander Club. But White clubs are not allowed!
Is it time, since they are REALLY a minority now, for whites to get to have their own club??

That’s no slap in my face, Khan. He is saying they failed in their effort to pass CIR legislation, specifically because – and this was somehow a surprise to him – we didn’t believe that they were serious about securing the border first, even as they claimed they would.
Well, we didn’t. But if our congressional representatives were serious, and did in fact secure our borders, I am certain that this legislation would have passed. My feeling on citizenship, and the feeling of (I believe) a great majority of Americans, would be different on that issue if we thought that illegal immigration was no longer possible.
I know many will disagree here, and I admit to some conflicted thoughts on the matter, but politically at least, I have no doubt that McCain was 100% correct in his statement. I don’t see what was insulting about it.
That said, and back on topic: La Raza is a racist organization and should be isolated, shunned, and all politicians who pander to them should be publicly shamed and their careers ended.
That we have exactly two choices for President, and both are going to speak to these maggots proudly, is an unbelieveable state of affairs. Just effing unbelieveable.

Face it folks, rank-and-file Americans (whites mainly) are sick and tired of these Mexicans, and we know it’s going to be getting a lot worse. And it won’t matter if they’re illegal or legal, the blood will be thicker than water.

Yes, La Raza IS something I bear in mind, on a daily basis. As I’ve posted before I’ve lived beside (and believe i do now, working on that angle) illegals and the ill effects they have on the community.
If you want to talk about driving the economy into the ground, lets take a long and VERY hard look at the funds that are expended taking care of the illegals in our country. Lowball the number and call it the 12 million here, instead of the 20-30 million that could be here. The estimates of supporting even 12 million illegals runs into the BILLIONS of dollars. And for what?
Education for illegal children, and now people vying for college tuition that is funded from the taxpayers.
Healthcare(and not just emergency care) for illegals that BY ITSELF is not only expensive and drives healthcare costs skyward for those legally here and paying for service, but also takes needed time and resources away from said legal persons in their time of need.
Sitting in line at the gas pumps? This isnt the 70’s. And if they arent here using gas and taking up space at the pumps AND polluting the environment while driving illegally (fake license, no insurance, insert other offenses here)…well well well, something else that can be avoided.
If La Raza has their way, those will be Refried Beans, Amigo. Don’t kid yourself about food costs and things of those natures. Illegals are getting assistance with food, so THEY dont have to worry about their next meal. The rest of us who work for what we have and are legal…well, maybe you have a point. But not because of the reason you think.
As far as jobs, do those include the “ones americans just wont do” that i wont be able to get because illegals have come in and taken those as well? So, Obama is going to tax the job out of existance, and the lower paying jobs are being taken by McShamnesty’s illegals that are here or coming over…my my my, decisions decisions. Guess we better get our applications for lettuce picking now, right?

SO! Back to the original question. Can you answer it and address it, or do we want to go over this line of dodging the issue for “Obama Bad, McCain Kinda Bad” banter all over again.

When I look at our presidential candidates, all I can think is, “God must really be upset with us.”

The McCain camp is foolish, if they think they can get votes by kissing up to a racist organization like La Raza. The New York Times threw McCain under the bus, and so will La Raza. If anyone at the McCain camp has bothered to watch or listen to the Spanish speaking media in the United States, they would know that:
1) The Spanish MSM is in the tank for Obama. MSNBC doesn’t have anything on these clowns. The Spanish MSM is saying McCain is exactly like President Bush. They back Obama at every turn. This goes unchecked by anybody.
2) They back the idea that the reason the State of Arizona tightened up their immigration laws is because of American racists. They also tell their viewers that this racism is spreading across America.
3) The Spanish MSM often tells their viewers, and listeners that the McCain amnesty plan is unfair because he is going to require illegal aliens to pay a $3,000 fine to wait in line, and stay in the United States. The Spanish MSM says it’s unfair because President Reagan did not make them pay this fee. They often site racism as the reason why the fee is being asked for.
4) The Spanish speaking Media in the United States, believes that the Global War on Terror is a wasted effort.
5) Liberal bias on Spanish Radio, and Spanish TV goes unchecked by the right, because they don’t listen. As a result, the moonbat fringe has a monopoly on this type of media. McCain will loose the Hispanic vote.
Who needs McCain “points” when we could get a smoking hawt Luce lady poster? Heh.

So when is McStain and Obmanation going to speak to the KKK or Nation of Islam? Because there is really no difference between La Raza and the KKK and Nation of Islam, all racist organizations. The difference being that the KKK and La Raza are white and Nation of Islam is predominately black.
Once again I have to say there is no Hispanic race they are white. Hispanic is a culture not a race.

Not being “with it” culturally, I missed the meaning of the last sentence in his comment, but the body of his message was clear, necessary, detailed, and not supplied by anyone else. Best wishes to him professionally as well. With diligent authors and community members as such, the nation is not yet lost, dark across the horizon though it seems.
Permanent locks on the black and hispanic voting blocks will spell doom for this country. The demographic trends indicate that those groups will have increasing weight in future elections and the dems have the formula for keeping their allegiance…this will not be an election by election thing. The dems see themselves as perched on the brink of permanent majority status in Congress and increasingly at the state level, too. This decade will be a turning point politically for this country.
The simple fact is if we don’t start ridding ourselves from the open border pro amnesty politicians we will be forced to assimilate to the South American culture!

Either way, on immigration it is going to take more organization and work then just flipping a lever on election day to have a better system. Unfortunately, from what I have seen I suspect that means that the open borders advocates, who take to the streets, will probably get their way.

My only concern here is the overt racism of many who call themselves “conservatives”. This is NOT conservatism, and those who adopt racist attitudes and spew racist dialogue are not the type of Republicans that the Republican party needs.
Europe is currently having a lot of trouble with white nationalists, overt racists from Vlams Belang and other parties/groups who see the opportunity to hitch a ride on the anti-jihad movement as a way to regain their mainstream legitimacy.
Alarmingly, I see white nationalists in America doing the very same thing and the acceptable targets for them here are both Muslims and Mexicans.

Nope, I never said that. Your Irish temper got the best of you, I’m afraid. I have never, nor would I ever, call any pro-American, unpatriotic, regardless of their heritage. I myself come from a long line of warriors, and poets. And of that, I am very proud. I am an American of Polish, Irish, Scottish, and English descent, and I find no useful reason to hyphenate my heritage. I am an American first, and foremost. I speak several languages that I learned on my own, albeit, some not as fluently as I would like. I would like to learn more.
I didn’t learn how to play a musical instrument, as I had better things to do with my time, most of which was not idle. My interests leaned towards the ballistic arts, an area in which I excelled. I have created ballistic loads that perform sub-minute angles of accuracy, which is music to the ears of some.
I served in the Marines, and, among a plethora of other occupations, been a Police Officer. I have sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the innocent. I have place my life at risk for people I have never met, and have never asked for anything in return, save sane and trustworthy leadership of my elected officials.
One of my daughters served in the Army in the Korean theater, just miles from the DMZ. Hopefully, my other girls will not have to serve in the armed forces.
