Dallas county official: “Black hole” is racist!

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 9, 2008 08:51 AM

I swear I just snorted up my breakfast over this story. A Dallas County commissioner is demanding that a colleague apologize for using the term “black hole.” The unhinged official called the phrase racist and insisted on replacing it with… “white hole.”

Via the Dallas Morning News (hat tip - JWF):

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections “has become a black hole” because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud “Excuse me!” He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a “white hole.”

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Next on the p.c. forbidden list: black box, Blackberry, blackjack, and blackout. Oh, and all black Crayola crayons, which shall henceforth be called “African-American.”

Commenter annursa: “I’m confused. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee insists that hurricanes should be given “African-American names” such as ‘Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn.’ Which natural phenomena are to be associated with a particular color or race … and which aren’t?”

First, just a nit-picky comment to the “black” folks. Black is not a color.

I think this “judge” should be rid of his “black” robe. How about orange? Very regal and fits in with the scenarios he presides over.

shoot, since I like wearing black all the time maybe I can now practice idiotic doublestandards and scream racism when I get a traffic ticket since I’m wearing all black.

it’s the special color, you know. LOLOLOL

these kind of bottom-dwelling black racist fanatics need to be hounded out of any public office. they are jackals in the streets.

I am utterly and thoroughly shocked and terrified at the fact that an active JUDGE in the United States justice system not only doesn’t know what a black hole is, but automatically thinks it’s a racist phrase. He has a doctorate degree, he’s supposed to be wise, learned, and experienced in intellectual and erudite things, and even more fair and discerning than a large body of well-educated people (lawyers, say whatever else you will, are well educated). Clearly, today is a horrific day for America and justice and one step closer to the abandonment of reason.

On a lighter note, does this now mean that when someone asks for their coffee “black,” they’re racist?!?! What about when someone says that a color or design is the “new black”? I imagine we could go on with this for days, huh?
