Sigh! Maybe I missed it, but I could not find anything resembling illegal immigration in the "Issues" section or subsection. Only the choices THEY gave (umm dictated) us. "So which of the issues we, at the republican party HQ, want addressed is your top issue?" I still put in illegal immigration but it is for naught. What a joke the RNC has become.

Do you really want an example of what the Republicans have done? Go to www.lsu-unofficial.com. I have been listing all the sins from a medical angle.

The one thing I would desire in their platform would be to leave us alone. Actually two, reduce the government by 50% across the board.

I've been sending the RNC the my own form letter for months: control the borders, build the fence, wage an all-out war on terror (including the use of waterboarding, Sen. McCain) drill here, drill now. All I get back are more solicitations for money. They won't listen because they think we'll hold our nose and vote for more RINOS. I may do exactly that, but I'm not contributing ideas, money, or energy to an RNC that is willfully blind, deaf and dumb.

I have been reading the ideas submitted, and many on the Left have been posting there - hence lies the problem.

If conservatives do not speak up, the RNC will only hear suggestions from the Left - and there will be no hope for reform or change.

Apathy is the first step in destroying this country. Those of you who have decided to just sit on your hands and complain have no one to blame but yourselves for your inaction.

Thanks Michelle

I signed in - got the password email - worked out how to submit ideas - did it.

They may or may not listen. I think that will depend on how many similar responses they get.

You do not gain influence by losing elections. What you set up is a situation where half the country is working for the worst for the USA to blame the other half. You wind up with a race to the bottom and that is a race that the conservatives will lose every time because the liberals don't even give lip service to loving the USA.

I am an American and I do not want to see harm come to the USA, even on the off chance that I could blame someone I don't like for it later. Besides, the press will blame the few republicans left and the lemmings will buy it.

I think that the RNC has turned a tin ear to Conservatives for years. I think their years of gearing elections toward moderates, independents, and liberals... perhaps, "out liberal" the liberals will hamper any future success they hope to achieve.

If the RNC had truly cared about the direction of the party instead of lining their own pockets by putting forth RINO candidates, they wouldn't be in the desperate shape they're in.

It's going to take a lost presidential election to wake them the hell up and start getting serious about the following issues:

1. Illegal immigration- it's real, it's happening, and it's not only harming and stealing American lives, it's taking taxpayer money away.

2. Control government spending.

3. Balance the federal budget, or rather, be the fiscal Conservatives the Republicans once claimed to be.

4. End support for the UN as well as foreign aid. If foreign aid is given... don't use it as a bribe and make it conditional. Obummer's Poverty Aid program is just more foreign welfare freebies.

5. Dismantle the education system and rebuild it into a system that gears it more toward knowledge retention and the kind of competitive learning that encourages independent thought and analysis.

6. Reform the tax system once and for all. Stop making the system complicated to the extent that it takes the Rosetta Stone to translate it to laymen.

7. Strengthen our military for future challenges (and wars).

8. Stop lawsuit abuse that makes health care so unaffordable.

9. Reform healthcare so that everyone can pay for it, not force it down everyone's throats in a socialized system.

10. Term limits. Senators should have only 2 terms (you hear me Kennedy, Byrd?) and Congressman should only have about 4 years. That way, the same old twerps aren't controlling things.

11. Energy Independence. Drill here. Drill now. Pay less.

Will the RNC get serious on a Conservative platform or will they continue to gear elections toward identity politics? Will they encourage former military folks to run for office? It's become apparent that the divide is widening between the military and the people and it's time to narrow it.

Until the RNC address more of these issues instead of giving them only lip service, they will never receive my financial support. Only the candidates who personally espouse them.

Oh boy, all this finger pointing and name calling is getting ridiculous... Let’s face reality we had a bunch of lackluster uninspiring candidates to choose from and now we’re stuck with John McCain. I’m no McCain fan, I don’t like him and I don’t trust him to standup for conservative principles. But given the choice of voting for him or Barack Obama it’s a no brainer... I’ll hold my nose and vote McCain.

Yeah, I could cast a protest vote and write in Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich but the reality neither one of them has a snowballs chance in hell of actually winning. So we’re back to the choice between bad and worse, I’ll take bad over worse. There’s at least a chance we’ll be able to influence McCain in less bad direction but there’s no chance will have any sway over Obama.

Every few days I get weak and think "Yes I must support Juan McCain, he is my Party's candidate"; I get ready to send a check to his campaign and the RNC.
Then Old Juan pushes me back with some stupid stunt such as speaking at LaRaza. That clown isn't a maverick; he's a G-D Damn Liberal. Yes, he claims to be strong on defense. Just bring your criminals and weapons across our southern border we don't mind. Anyone catch his new ad? More pandering to the Open Borders.

Bill Grant said:
And Ronald Reagan had to deal with a Democratic Congress and too many RINOs for eight years. Yes Sandra Day O'Connor was a bitter disappointment and perhaps the most intellectually dishonest Justice of the late 20th century. Shame on her.
But in my life time Ronald Reagan was the ONE American President who truly cared about America, the American People, rolling back the Soviet Union and actually being an American President and not worrying about what the Beatiful People thought.

That is the earful I gave to the RNC.
