Obama and McCain at La Raza: An open-borders lovefest

La Raza twin powers…activate!
Barack Obama takes the podium at the National Council of La Raza/The Race tonight. John McCain will Hispander, as Mickey Kaus puts it so well, tomorrow.
It’ll be an open-borders lovefest for Obama, who was championed yesterday at The Race conference by L.A.’s zealous pro-illegal immigration mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa. You’ll recall that Obama is very, very proud to have marched “shoulder to shoulder” with shamnesty activists in the 2006 illegal alien May Day parade. ABI gives him a career grade of D- for his immigration voting record.
As I predicted in my column this week, the open-borders radicalism of The Race has been whitewashed out of the MSM’s coverage of the conference. See here. And here’s a La Raza propaganda op-ed that somehow manages to omit a single public policy fact about The Race’s agenda. See the 15 things you should know about The Race.
As for McCain’s appearance tomorrow, the Pittsburgh Tribune Review calls it “the biggest mistake of his 2008 presidential run.”
Look for McCain to parrot his idiotic “God’s children”, pay perfunctory lip service to “securing the border” which he doesn’t believe in, and use his Race conference appearance to grandiosely throw pro-enforcement conservatives under the bus.
There will be no Hermana Souljah moment.

Uhhhh, speaking of “the National Council of La Raza” or “NCLR”…
what ever happened to the “well regulated militia” part ??? Cause that’s where we are going…
I got another McCain 2008 Urgent Gram Saturday. I put a note in there “raise your money at the LaRaza Klan meeting and ask Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to be your running mate”. I did include a 10 Centavo coin.

Back in the PPEaters day with Fran at QB they were grand. Seems like teams these days are made up of just so much overpaid interchangable slabs of meat.
I wonder if there’s such a thing as being “illegally blind”? (Blind drunk behind the wheel would do it.)
But I have those days where I set my browser font to “large”.
A mule sounds about the right animal for the “Show Me” State.
And given it’s far-liberal bent, I’m thinkin’ Oregon got it’s state animal right, too. (you can put that joke together yourself, heh)
Thanks, for the link, As a Marine it is my obligation to support my brother’s. Travis UHRA! thank you for your sacrifice and God Bless you. Sempre Fi Tom Manion you’ve just recieved my donation and for anyone who would like to donate here is Tom’s website.
LMAO,
I really think that is a terrible way to explain it because it sounds like those people who claim victim status. God gave me a great gift with my eyes I see the world in a different way than most and I’m an artist so I see shadows and light in a different perspective, it’s actually kind of cool.
Yes the people of Missouri hold true to both the animal and the motto, stubborn and ya gotta Show Me before I’ll believe it.
Just for you Carl Cameron Fox News it’s an (I) you idiot not an (A) at the end.

What is it, that people don’t understand about signing away the US sovereignty with the stroke of a pen?
I am 71 same age as McCain, voted 50 times every time for Republican presidents so I have to cave in and vote for a guy just because he got an R after his name. If you really think McCain is elected calling and faxing it going to stop amnesty the next time you’re in for a rude awakening. It makes little difference about my vote because McCain will not win New York anyway. I believe the last Republican to win New York was Ronald Reagan. So some posters on this board are saying if you don’t will for McCain were going to blame you, go ahead make my day. I will not go to my grave knowing that I pulled the lever for a guy who’s going to sign away this country it just ain’t going to happen. We have a conservative party here in New York, too bad they don’t have one countrywide.
After Obama’s speech about speaking french and teaching our kid’s to speak spanish well what can I say Gateway Pundit finds a tincey bit of hypocrisey.
Let me educate a few of you RINOs out there who want to vote for McChump; this is simple so you should all be able to comprehend this idea. If not voting for McCrazy is a vote for BO, then not voting for BO is a vote for the Chump, got that! So in the future spare us Conservatives any more of your drivel. He’s your boy, let’s see you elect him.
Reg.conservative # 101, Well spoken Sir!
2 minor points… 1. “We have a conservative party here in New York, too bad they don’t have one countrywide.
YET.
2. “go ahead make my day.”
is now…You don’t look so bad, here’s another!
juss sayin
There is no Conservative party to speak of in MN, so it looks like the days of Francis Marion and John Mosby may have to return, albeit in a northern climb… but I can still shoot straight and still remember guerrilla and jungle tactics. Sad to say, I may need them before I pass on…. I miss my country. Dramatic? Well, we need to be, virtue and ethic are succumbing to the followers of anything but Obama.
Someone should ask McCain about this.

Isn’t it exciting that we have three patriots who are willing to serve again? — the list is on my post # 93.
I must look nation-wide–my selection here in CA is slim. I figure that their votes will affect me and mine when they WIN
Where’s the candy.
Sorry could’nt help myself. Is’nt “The Race” such a peacful outfit, whata bunch of tools.
Yes it is, I do believe that no matter what state they come from they effect all of us, so supporting those true conservitives is a must.

Artist to artist-what medium do you favor?
My passion is sculpture (stone carving is my favorite).
I’m trying my hand – again – with oils using the back wash techniques of Goya et.al. to achieve depth.
# 106-They would not get away with that in Mexico! Our tax-payer $$$$ at work!
Oils and Acrylics on canvas, I also like graphite on watercolor paper.
I paint with traditional brush and airbrush, I also do CG (computer graphics) and 3D animation. I have also done some wood sculpture and stained glass. I’ve never worked with stone although I’ve alway’s wanted to, maybe one day I’ll give it a try. I just love creating these works. I kind of think I understand how God felt when he created all of the beautiful wonderful things in the world and why he loves them so much but I am only recreating what he already created so the credit has to go to him for giving me the blueprints.
Since the two candidates/pander-bears are in complete agreement that all white folks can ****-off, we have little choice but to either waste our votes on unknown third-party candidates like Bob Barr, or place a vote for Obama or McCain that is based on other issues. As much as I hate McCain’s stance on illegals, I will likely vote for him to keep the next Jimmy Carter out of the White House. Our country BARELY survived Jimmy’s “leadership”.
Mule, Christian, if the opportunity ever comes your way, visit Amsterdam NL and spend a day at each, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijks Museum (Rembrandt van Rijn and the Dutch Masters).
I’m a amateur photographer. F-1, sports cars mostly. Still life more recently.
Can’t they just bring them to me.
Actually that is the only reason I would travel oversea’s, I have absolutley no desire to learn other’s culture’s like some do although it would be interesting but I would much rather go to see the great master’s works. I do large pieces like 60″x72″
(5′x6′) is the largest so far my dad said it reminded him of the one’s he saw in spain.
Ok, just so I’m not accused of changing the thread “The Race” is a bigoted hate group that deserves no coddling from either candidate. there.
Mule, putting fact & reason before art & feelings??!
OK, you pass… NEXT!
Could you list the states they are running in?
Rembrandt’s “The Night Watch”
(I’m sure The Race would not like this very large piece one bit.)
Isn’t La Raza related to MS13?

Stubby, BOB, i agree, iam about off this ride…it’s been great until the 90’s, then I saw my country slowly slide into a 3rd world country run by selfish, self-righteous, elitist bastards elected by a selfish, self-centered constituency. Me, Me Me…whiny a$$ cry babies top to bottom.
I have a question for you conservatives…just when is a revolution the appropriate action, when it’s too late?
By the way i am now a member of the Constitution Party, i will not be voting for the lesser of two evils, I’ll be voting for the man and party that holds the same values as myself.
#114 zorro-thank you for the head’s up!
I’ll add your suggested destination to my short list of Denmark-Ireland and Pierta Santa (sp) – Italy(..my friends go every year to stone carve and they tell me it’s great!!!!)

No more Slippery Slide to Socilism >>>>>>>>>
Socialism
As the invaders march into the country Americans sit on their hands griping……I know one thing, if they institute an amnesty and the takeover begins there will be a race war in this country like no other. Unfortunately legal hispanics will also bear the brunt of this travesty. You don’t take over a country without blood, sweat and tears. Get ready because either traitor will work for it.
There should be no question about a “slippery slide to socialism.” We will get a descent into Stalinist hell if Obama is elected.
The Obamastalist wants to create a Red Guard of Socialist Youth to patrol the streets of America with guns and equal funding as the American military.
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007818.html
No joke! Youth would be forced to serve 50 hours a week and college students 100. Remind anyone of the Cultural Revolution of China in the 1960s? How about the Khmer Revolution of Cambodia?
Want proof? I couldn’t believe it, but Obama actually did state this, and it was on the headline on Hot Air:
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007818.html
Of course not a peep about this proposal that would make Hugo Chavez blush from the MSM.
This “equally bad” BS about McCain and Obama is getting really old. Obama a/k/a Stalin says the following:
If this doesn’t scare you into voting for McCain, I can’t believe you could possibly be an American who cares about our country.
Oops. Mispelled the new nickname for Obama: Obamastalinist:
Unbelievable! On July 2, he stated he wants an armed corps of Obama “youth” patrolling our streets just like China had in the 1960’s. And it would get more funding, according to Obama, than our military would.
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007818.html
This was a headline on Hot Air. Hello, Manchurian Candidate!
Sure McCain wants Hispanic votes. I sure hope he gets them to protect us from Obama. Again, Obama wants a civilian corps of armed youth in which high school students would be forced to serve 50 hours a week and college students 100.
And we’re complaining about McCain?! Let’s get real here!
Lots to complain about.
Much more to complain about with Obama.
What should be more important? Depends on if the question is asked before or after the republican convention.
Wise Man,
Sure, there is a lot to complain about in McCain, such as his “Gang of 14″ and openness to amnesty, AFTER securing the border. (Barack Hussein Obama does not want to even secure the border.)
But when you have a Stalinist candidate ACTUALLY state that he wants an armed corps of American youth http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007818.html, in which high school students would serve 50 hours a week and college students 100. . .and this Red Corps would be funded more than the military and would be more powerful, it is time to stop complaining about McCain and do ANYTHING to stop Obama if you care about our country and don’t want us to a communist state.
This guy is the scariest thing ever to run for president and have a serious shot. I could not for the life of me believe that headline in Hot Air, and yet it is documented that Barack Hussein Obama actually stated he wants an armed civilian corps of “youth” equally as powerful as our military.
Is this Orwellian “change” or what?
# 130 Gabe – thank you for the head’s up.
Has McCain answered to ANY of the outrageous statements from B.Hussein Obama or his RETINUE????>>>>
NO>>>>
I didn’t think so!
I’m STILL WAITING for him to become …..something!
And his love for La Raza doesn’t help.
I was taking a leisurely evening stroll with my wife this evening along the Embarcadero in San Diego, when who should emerge from Anthony’s Fish Grotto but Juan “My Friend” Hernandez…… he passed me too fast, but I wanted to introduce myself to him and remind him that I am NOT “his friend”, and that he should tell Sen. McCain that as long as he continues to associate himself with you, there is no way in hell that I would vote for him (although I wouldn’t vote for him anyway)…….
Hernandez looks even greasier in real life than he does on TV……..
Hello Everyone:
2/3s of the update on Dad’s status was posted this morning.
Unfortunately the “after Church” completion hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been “putting out fires” — not related to Dad’s health situation all day, since just after Church.
I have an early call Monday morning, but I will no doubt complete the post Monday evening. Late Monday evening.
Wow, I just found that Dad’s/my moniker here is a clickable hyperlink to Dad’s blog! That’s really neat! (yes, I’m a “newbie”, as a friend called me…).
Sorry about the off topic post. I’ll post a notice when the update is completed.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers on our family’s behalf.
Here’s a sure thing you can bet on. The next president will be a piece of garbage.
The thing about McCain is basically he is stupid. So is Obama, BTW. But they are different. Obama pretends he never said what he said. He is a liar and a cheat. McCain keeps with the theory even when proven wrong.
Juan McAmnasty is like Larry Craig. he moves his foot under the stall door to signal his intentions to make a racist hispanic group his cozy domestic partner.
one word for the mark of (Mc)Cain—DISGRACE !!
I am so glad i still have my religion and guns to cling too. We are so F&**ED
The way I see it – Obama and McCain may as well be on the same ticket……………to HELL.
McCain and Obama are no where near the same.
If you joked that they are the same, and never bothered to look up the facts, then you may be just ignorant of the truth. Now that you have read this, the next time you make the claim, you are deliberately lying.
I agree that not voting sends NO message at all. That strategy, even if recognized, will be interpreted very differntly by the MSM and party leaders. When was the last time the GOP interpreted losses apporpriately?
That is why I am voting 3rd Party this time around. My first choice is the Constitution Party and Chuck Baldwin. Impecable credentials on paper but no idea on his charisma. My distant 2nd choice is Libertarian Bob Barr. Barr has recently softened his stance on illegals but he is still light years ahead of mcamensty and obummer. But voting for candidates that stand up against illegal immigration will send a strong message to both the parties and to the ultimate winnner. I am not delusional that a 3rd party can win. But it lays the groundwork. The 2 party system is not serving the needs of Americans like myself.
Best of luck with your 0.32% or 0.12% percent of the vote “groundwork.”
In other words, if you want to be part of either extreme side of a bell curve, then knock yourself out. But don’t do this with any realistic expectations that you are making a difference or laying groundwork while (again, using the 2004 election as an example) 62 million votes will be up against 59 million votes, and you want to be part of the 150 to 400 thousand of people voting for a third party candidate.
People who study elections only laugh at these people who are nothing more than footnotes while everyone else participates in the actual election.
Well, if you want to be part of electing a LIBERAL, knock yourself out. Even more so, in 4 years when the repubs trot out a “HRC” as their next nominee. I don’t care if I am the only person who votes for the Constitution Party. Your whole premise of electing mcamensty is based on suppostions that he will play nice with conservatives once in office. I base my decision on his past actions and his current rhetoric.
We can either start the long arduous process of producing a viable conservative 3rd party now, or we can start it later. The sooner the better since each day, the liberal base grows as a result of immigriaton (legal and illegal). Continuing to vote for a repub party that has and will continue to drift left on issues, violates the sunk cost paradigm of business. No point contiuing to pour resources and votes into the party until they show, with actions, they are ready to stop poking the conservative base in the eye. In other words, time to cut our losses.
That’s why I am going to participate in voting against a liberal Obama and voting for a flawed candidate who is the only other person in a two man election to be president.
OK. I respect your choice. We must agree to disagree on the subject. I won’t argue the subject any longer. Gets tiresome for me since it is purely a subjective choice based on one’s own priorities. I know from other discussions that you a conservative who is trying to do what is best for the country. Me as well, we just come at it in a differnet manner.
I wish I could say that I respect your choice. I really do. Any option that has as it’s goal for more conservatism is worth it. Especially now. If anyone here thinks that by sacrificing the nation for 4 years of Obama in the hopes that we get a more conservative president next time, you really need to understand what you are getting the country into with Obama. If there was a guarantee that we’d get a stronger conservative after Obama, then it would make it that much more enticing.
After George W Bush’s dad broke the ‘no new taxes’ pledge, many people voted for Ross Perot to send a message. That vote split between people that actually voted for Bush, and Perot, and Bill Clinton was elected. Twice. And then the next president was Bush’s son, W.
It went from Reagan, to Bush Senior, to W. Not a step forward. And it was certainly a step back with eight years of the Clintons. I’d really like to see stronger conservative candidates impress the voters of the republican primaries and win.
In my opinion, allowing Obama to win is not acceptable. Others have their opinions. I can’t change them, we can only discuss facts and how we interpret those facts. When it comes to opinions, they need to be based on a strong flow of logical frameworks to be able to justify these opinions.
While McCain is such a great distance from being a conservative, he is no where near Obama. Some people are one issue voters. They will only vote for pro-life candidates, no matter what else the candidate is for. Besides international terrorism, I can’t think of a stronger issue than border security and finding and prosecuting illegal immigrants who break our laws and steal our citizens identities. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why the federal government can’t enforce our laws when cities declare themselves sanctuary cities.
If the federal government can surround and take down the branch dividian cult for breaking the law, then they can do everything up to surrounding the city of sand francisco buildings with tanks and force them to follow the rule of law.
Again, if there is a way to force McCain to change his views, I’m all for it. If you or anyone else thinks that Obama will be just the same as McCain you are really mistaken. McCain is rotten on this subject but in the hundreds of policy positions and their ability to become the president, commander in chief and everything else that comes with the job, then the possibility of Obama really isn’t something that is up for debate. We know what he’s going to do.
I can’t see any scenario where Obama could ever be best for the country.
I can not understand how ANYONE could say obama is best for the country. He isn’t. Mcamnesty for all his warts, when everything is taken into account, is better than obama (I won’t say a lot better but better nonetheless). And if this election was the last one ever, I would concede to mcamensty. But I don’t beleive this is a do or die moment for the country. I don’t beleive the country will be destroyed under 4 years of obama. I may be wrong, but I hope not. Therefore, I am thinking long term and what it is goign to take to stop this slow death march to the left by all parties. So either a conservative arises in 4 years as a challenger from the GOP that I can support (borders/language/culture), or a 3rd party has more time to build a base (not saying viable at that time but more and more peopel will begin to feel disenfranchised). I suppose the big difference in our opinions really boils down to the perspective of timing and what that means over the next POTUS term. You feel the country can’t last an obummer presidency, while I beleive it will (maybe severely injured) survive. As such, I just can not vote for mcamnesty and validate the gop new paradigm of drifting leftward to pick up more moderate dem votes.
I gathered that this is what so many people here believe.
As long as you understand what we are all going to be getting.
Unfortunately, my eyes are wide open. I have never seen such a p*ss poor bunch of candidates in my life. Oh well. But you have to admit, mcamnesty’s stupid stunts like adressing la raza, isn’t helping his case wiht conservatives any. He REALLY needs some better advice. It’s one thing to talk with the group its quite another to take valuable time to give a speech to them, while at the same time poking 80% of your party’s base in the eye. Its as if he doesn’t want to win.
McCain once said something to the effect of ‘id rather loose an election that loose the war on terror’ or some such quote to that effect. While I don’t know for certain, I believe that McCain does and says things that he believes in. So McCain is doing this amnesty move of his because he believes in it. I think this is completely wrong to reward people who break our laws.
Barack Obama is very liberal, and now that he has clinched his party’s nomination, he is moving toward the center. While Obama may claim more centrist views closer to the national election, anyone who has been paying attention so far knows what motivates him. McCain has never claimed to be a strong conservative. He received more votes than Thompson, Giuliani… and now this election is down to two people.
This constant bickering between conservatives I can see as being a blessing to democrats who want Obama to win. In your and everyone’s heart, you’ve got to have a clear mind and really vote for the person who you think is better for the nation.
Agreed. That is why I am voting for Pastor Chcuk Baldwin of the Constitution Party. Voting for mcamensty in order to keep obummer from winning is not voting for the best person for the nation. It is what it is. Voting against someone else. And again, if i believed that an obummer victory would destroy the nation over 4 years, I would be with you. But I don’t beleive that so I can’t support mcamensty due to his continued hispandering and commitment to “comprehenisive ILLEGAL immigration” reform.
