Grow a pair, Obama

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 14, 2008 05:26 AM

Barry,

So, you found this satirical New Yorker cover art “tasteless and offensive.”

Welcome to public life.

Guess what? In Washington, political cartoonists and caricaturists spare no one.

*Update* Chris at The Hot Joints reminds me of this truly disgusting cartoon run in the Obama-worshipping Rolling Stone magazine last month:

Here’s a reminder of the crap Condi Rice has had to deal with over the years:

1. The buck-naked bigotry of Ted Rall:

2. Jeff Danziger’s Condi-as-Prissy cartoon:

3. Pat Oliphant’s exaggerated-lipped parrot caricature:

Much more here.

But hey, that’s nothing compared to the assassination chic targeting President Bush:

bushgun.jpg

killbush.jpg

killbush003.jpg

bushbeheaded.jpg

dope.jpg

Oh, and if you’re going to echo your wife’s claims of special victimhood and decry the satirical “attack” on her, go buy a copy of the Laura Bush-bashing novel, “American Wife,” read what they said about her trip to Afghanistan, and check out the diatribe published by the San Francisco Chronicle smearing her as a “docile doormat” and much worse.

Then, when you’re done digesting all that, wipe your nose, grow a pair, do your little Jay-Z dance move, and take your own advice to your daughters:

No whining.

It clashes with your glow.

***

Much more from Doug Ross and Rick Moran, who says: “Man up.”

Bush keeps moving on because he is focused on results. He doesn’t sweat the small stuff. Obama and the Moonbats focus on grievance and display because that is all they have. The cornering of the term Move On by the left was brilliant because that was the one thing they can not do. Results are meaningless to them. All they can do is attack those who create and build and solve problems. If Obama didn’t have non-issues to agonize over, like someone insulting him, then he would have to talk about the substance of an issue. Now Obama gets to talk about the appearance of substance. The hate filled thugs that attack Condi Rice are not an aberration, they are Obama’s core constituency.

To the liberal mind, an individual’s personal character is solely defined by his/her racial or gender identity. This is the reason that they don’t cry foul when similar attacks are launched against conservates who happen to belong to a racial minority. Afterall, if conservatives remained “true to their identity” then they would not be conservatives. Therefore, it’s only racist if you attack a liberal in this manner because such an attack is a personal attack upon character.

This is truly the most backward thinking movement that I have ever witnessed - and they call themselves “progressive”. Quite mindless if you ask me!

As for McCain, he thinks irony is something the laundry does to his shirts. If he does win, I can well am imagine him spending election night repeatedly apologizing. Like Bush he appears to have two modes: placating the left and attacking the right. Why didn’t these men switch parties decades ago? They could have spared us so much.

With due respect, this is one of the most oblivious blog posts I have ever seen. First, the issue isn’t Barack Obama. The issue is Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and all the other demagogues who have taken the opportunity at every chance they get to play on Americans’ bigotry by calling him Barack Hussein Obama (what’s John McCain’s middle name? I don’t know either because it’s not important unless you have roots in an unpopular ethnic group).

And the issue is Michelle Malkin for taking on Mrs. Obama for being a strong black woman — dare I say a typical strong black woman — who has the nerve to say what she feels is wrong with this country.

For once, it’s the Republican who has left his cripple wife for a young, beautiful, rich heiress — and then lying about the adultery. This time, it’s the Democrat who is the pillar of family values, but it doesn’t matter. It’s always something, and it’s always personal.

Moreover, either condemn all bigotry or excuse all bigotry. You can’t spend your whole life whining about the Ted Ralls of the world, and then say “get over it” when liberals are exposed to equally offensive hatred. Condemn the Curious George shirts. Condemn the Obamaassassination chic.” Don’t play the conservative grievance card and then tell Obama to “grow a pair” when his camp (not really Obama, who just shrugged and had no comment when told of the story) takes offense.

Obama is often compared to JFK, and for many good reasons. They are (were) both young and charismatic senators. It has been pointed out several times that Kennedy was a terrible president for many reasons, not the least of which is that he was nowhere near bright or experienced enough to handle the job.

But, although he was a cretin, there’s no denying that JFK had a pair. Aside from his psychotic womanizing, he was a man’s man. That was actually his aura - much of it faked, given the reality of his frail health, but his “pitch” was “here’s a man’s man.”

Obama has JFK’s look, but beyond that he’s 100% Phil Donahue.

So, you found this satirical New Yorker cover art “tasteless and offensive.”

    Welcome to public life.

The cover is accurate in its representation of Barack Hussein Obama and his wife. If he disagrees, it’s called freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

No doubt if this were his country, the first “change” would be to get rid of anything criticizing him or the revolution and to place his picture everywhere like in 1984.

The revolutionary aspect of the cover is dead on:

The Muslim and Stalinist Obama actually wants a civilian corps of Obama “youth,” just like in 1984, that is LARGER and more POWERFUL than the military. This is straight from the horse’s mouth on July 2. He actually wants a gang of La Raza style youth going around in guns to “secure” the country:

    http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007818.html

The above was a headline on Hot Air. Is there any wonder that the MSM does not want to advertise it?

Barack Hussein Obama IS a Muslim and he and his wife ARE communist revolutionaries. What Obama is upset about is the fact that the cover of the mag is going to draw attention to the evidence supporting it:

I’ve thought many times that Obama will not be the “uniter” his people think he will be merely because I am angry about the 8 years of tantrum throwing the left has had over Bush and I intend to give it back 10-fold. They think we’re mean? Let’s show them just how mean we can be. We are better at it and we’re smarter than they ever thought of being.

If McCain went to an all white church which spewed out anti black sermons every week he’d be on a grill for it. But he’s white so the rules are different…

He wasn’t registered as a Muslim in an Indonesian Catholic school? He didn’t go to a Marxist and anti-American church for 20 years? None of his family was Muslim?

He IS Muslim, and this article proves it. But he STATES he is Christian! Just because someone states something–especially when they are desperate to gain something from a lie, in this case the presidency–doesn’t make it true.

Here is the proof that Barack Hussein Obama IS and WAS a Muslim:

This, quite frankly, makes the Obama cartoon look like a walk in the park - yet I don’t hear nearly as much condemnation from liberals about it.

Here’s a sampling of the comments:

Just a sampling of comments from the aforementioned Democratic Underground.

Meet your maker and all the people you helped kill Tony.

Condolences to his family, good riddance to a fucking liar.

We have no right to rejoice over this. But what about the man whose entire family was slaughtered by american bombings in Iraq ? Snow, as Bush’s spokesman, bears a responsibility.

Mr. Snow, meet Mr. Fire. Another fascist bites the dust. None too soon.

A fond farewell Mr. Snow … If there is someplace you go after death, I hope George Carlin is there waiting to kick your ass.

He (or his masters) paid image consultants a crapload of money to make him seem like a decent guy, but he stood for and supported everything that Bush and Cheney do, and I wouldn’t apply the term decent to either of them…

My condolences … to the Iraqis who have died because of the neocons.

Why not just let him lie and say nothing, and save your pity for the people who have suffered and died because of Bush administration policies that Snow helped promote?

I saw him on Bill Maher maybe back in January. And I remember being shocked at the time that someone battling what is usually a death-sentence illness . . . would not have learned anything about life. His illness and what he went through obviously not having taught him anything about compassion, humility or empathy. But there he was, Tony Snow. As hateful and arrogant as ever.

that Tony was a filthy, lying bastard who devoted his later years to spewing propaganda for fascists and miscreants.

Rest in peace, Mr. Snow. Just joking.

He was a paid liar for the worst administration in our history.

He was just one of the flacks. Media manipulators for hire. Spin machines. I have often wondered how they manage to sleep at night.

    he lied to me daily

Isn’t that nice. A faithful Christian who enabled the slaughter of innocent Iraqis.

sorry snow——- his bullshit lies and smarmy face caused the deaths of soldiers, the ignoring of global warming, the spreading of disinformation.

Maybe he can now meet some of the people his lies killed

    .

Some similar hatred from the Daily Kos.

Question #2.Was Tony Snow part of a Goebbels-like propaganda machine allowing a cabal of pillaging, warmongering thugs to seize War Powers of an Industrialized “Democracy” allowing said Regime to unrepentently torture, maim, and kill civilians in foreign lands while rationalizing his patrons Police-State Powers at home via the comprehensive, calculated dissembly of the Rule of Law? . . . Yes.

I feel horribly for the children, elderly parents…the wife I am more ambivalent about. I could not love or stay married to a man who enabled Bush.

Isn’t it ironic. . . that a man who held onto and fed people the lies, the smears, the condescending attitude, who hurt so many should be overcome by the very thing that his own body was feeding and growing.

Tony Snow I am sure was a nice man to those of like mind. And there is exactly the problem. “Those of like mind” do not give a damn about you or me or the rest of this once great country.

Let’s talk about Tony Snow - I mean really talk about Tony Snow and what lies he spread to the world for profit.

Standing in Puragtory’s line, behind 100k Iraqis

It is fair and balanced to note what team he played for. How many Iraqis and Americans died so he could continue in his job?

So if liberals here act with surprise that we find them less than tolerant, this is a prime example why.

As to Coulter, Rush, Savage, Malkin and hte rest - often, when liberals call them “insulting” or “hysterical”, it’s merely because they’re right. When they’re really offensive or wrong, we call them on it.

Can’t say the same thing about liberals and their cohorts.

I love you, Michelle. I was going nuts over the weekend because you only updated a couple of times, and when you come back, you give us this post.

I hadn’t seen that McCain cartoon (how tacky and appalling!), but you’re right that Obama needs to learn to deal with stuff like this. Bush has been compared to Hitler and the Nazis and killed in effigy in many ways for almost 8 years; if Obama can’t handle mild criticism and a political cartoon made by an organization that (I’m sure) overwhelmingly supports him, how can he handle being criticized as President?

My grandfathers were the type of men who made this nation…hardworking, supported their families, NEVER went on welfare or other loser support programs, NEVER had to have help sending their children to college, loved me unconditionally, and were both hard-line conservatives!

They built this nation and made it easy for the losers to survive, and now you have one running for president on the liberal, demoncratic ticket. My grandpas would be so sad and angry to see what they built being turned into a nanny state.

    The truth marches on!

I do know some conservatives who aren’t so wrapped up in their self-pity that they can recognize that the media and Hollywood aren’t out to get them. They are mostly ashamed of seeing bigots like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Savage embarrass their cause.

Red State Skeptic must have imaginary “conservative” friends who have the EXACT same liberal beliefs that he does.

It is like the Tom Brokaw conservative “friends” who are going to vote for the most liberal Senator in history. Yeah, sure they are “conservative” and they really exist!

Red State Skeptic shows what tyrants most liberals would be if they had any type of power. They want NO counter points of view, and if there are any they demonize them as “bigots.” Oldest trick in the book.

Liberals have NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, AP, Reuters, all the major newspapers, the entire public school system, every university. The only counters to this virtual monopoly are talk-radio and Fox News that gets the truth out. Yet they are still upset that there are ANY type of opposition to their point of view and that the truth can get out.

Their reaction to the cover of the New York Magazine is typical. What is normal for Republicans happens for once to them and they are aghast and suddenly want to ban free speech and freedom of the press.

What’s your point? I know they are popular. I was just saying that I can’t make a blanket statement about all conservatives buying that crap.

For what it’s worth, I love Coulter, Rush and Michelle because they are remarkably intelligent and effective communicators. Plus I agree with them on a lot of things. They are bigots, or at least consciously appeal to bigotry (Michelle less so), but probably no more bigoted than white liberals who think it’s OK to mock working-class whites (or “rednecks”) on My Name Is Earl.

Like Bush he appears to have two modes: placating the left and attacking the right. Why didn’t these men switch parties decades ago? They could have spared us so much.

The problem is that the party has moved to the left along with them, forcing US to consider other options.

If Obama manages to get elected the press will throw him under the bus and make life more miserable for him than the Republicans ever dreamed. While the MSM always wants to see a Dem in charge, they will turn on Obama shortly after the inauguration as there will be too much ammo and gossip. They simply cannot help themselves and they will be stampedeing to uncover all the dirt and incompetence that is at the core of Democrat politics. (Unfortunately they will never seriously question policy, which is what really matters.) The stories and rumors that will come out of the White House will make those of the Clinton years seem like a Disney movie. It is the one thing about an Obama presidency that gives me hope.

The mockery on this NBC show is about people who don’t work. Please get your mockery correct. I am not offended by ‘Earl’, because I work every day–my offense comes when I get paycheck for said job, and see how much of my $$ goes to those who live like the folks in ‘Earl’ do…

Imaginary? Michelle Malkin herself has condemned Ann Coulter. So has George Will.

Trust me, I’m talking about people who are still for the war, oppose “nanny” government, oppose killing babies and are among the 28% of America
