Unhinged in Arizona: Open-borders mob, led by public official, ravages Joe Arpaio effigy

Reader Tim C. in Tucscon sent me an e-mail about some completely unhinged open-borders activists who mobbed a book event for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. A group of young pro-illegal alien protesters repeatedly beats an effigy of Arpaio as Isabel Garcia–local reconquistadora and an official from the Pima County legal defender’s office–eggs them on. She then parades around with the effigy’s head as onlookers cheer and hoist up the rest of the battered body.

And they call us uncivil?

Unbelievable.

Watch the video for yourselves:

Tim writes:

“Last week, we had an interesting situation here in Tucson that our local media, with the exception of one local talk radio host, seems to be afraid to cover.

Maricopa county sheriff Joe Arpaio has recently released a book and was in town for a signing at a Barnes and Noble store. Sheriff Arpaio is well know for his strict adherence for enforcing the laws and has some unique ways of dealing with offenders – county prisoners live in tents, work on chain gangs, etc. I would be surprised if you haven’t at least heard of him. Anyway, a local “civil rights” group, Derechos Humanos (http://www.derechoshumanosaz.net/) was on hand to protest his visit to Tucson. Isabel Garcia, is a member of the group’s board and holds a position with the Pima County Legal Defender’s office, was at this protest. I believe, and many others in Tucson agree, that Ms Garcia’s actions were way beyond what would be considered as an acceptable form of free speech from a member of the Bar association and as a county employee.

I’m hearing from many other upset Tucson residents. Reader Tyler writes:

For some reason (most likely a sympathic view/common ideology), her superiors, other city employees, and news agencies refuse to report on the situation, and those who are questioned see nothing wrong with her actions.

This is obviously in conflict with the ethical code of conduct she is expected to follow, and is clearly spelled out by the Arizona Bar Association: she is expected to behave in a respectable manner, in or out of office, and is not to show disresepct to fellow members of the legal institution.

Please give this story the attention in deserves.

    Just confirms what I have already learned about the savages that continue to invade my country through its wide open borders. Yes, I am typing this with clenched teeth after watching this display. I have absolutely no faith in our federal government confronting this issue especially after seeing a public official taking part in this reprehensible behavior with absolutely no consequences (at least at this time). The “rule of law” and decent behavior in public is blatantly ignored and pretty soon people will be forced do more then post their disapproval on the internet, or try to get the attention of their arrogant and clueless Congress critters or other public officials to do something about this plague on our nation. I fear once again patriots will have to rise up and fight this broken government in the streets while driving the invaders out at bayonet point. I hope many are arming up because the more outspoken our unwelcome guests become the higher the body count will be along with more frequent incidents of atrocities visited on our communities and families. We either begin to fight back very soon or we are doomed to die as a sovereign and free nation.

    Sen. McCain voted against the Cornyn Amendment (SA 1184) to S. 1385 to establish a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals. The Cornyn Amendment would have permanently barred from admission into the United States, and denied immigration benefits (including legal status under the amnesty in this bill), to: (1) absconders (i.e., aliens already ordered deported); (2) aliens deemed inadmissible or deportable as security risks (e.g., terrorists); (3) aliens who fail to register as sex offenders; (4) aliens convicted of certain firearms offenses; (5) aliens convicted of domestic violence, stalking, crimes against children, or violation of protection orders; (6) alien gang members; and (7) aliens convicted of at least three DUIs. The Cornyn Amendment failed by a vote of 46 to 51.

    Here is my e-mail I sent the administrator…

    Dear Administrator Huckleberry,

    Isabel Garcia should be 1) fired and 2) arrested for what she did at Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s book signing the other day. If your not sure what I am talking about (I know you are) go to Michelle Malkin’s website. How could such a vile and blantantly anti-law stance be tolerated by others in your area, the bar association, and coming from a county employee and bar association member?

    The sheriff is only upholding the law. We Americans are sick and tired of the drugs and crime coming freely across the Mexican border and we want something done about it. We have no trouble with people migrating legally, but this has gone way to far. A small step would be to reprimand, or fire, Ms. Garcia. She shows no respect for the law, law enforcement officers, or the people of America.

    Thank You for reading my e-mail! I look forward to hearing what you will do about Ms. Garcia.

    Border security and our failed immigration system are more examples of an ailing Washington culture…

    I keep hearing this, over and over, ad nauseum…other than NOT building the border fence, and NOT enforcing the current immigration law and not reformating the number of allowable alien inductees, where is this law failing?

    Short of a sweeping Presidential decree, which is probably unconstitutional, how can any President affect immigration law? It has to come from the respective houses of congress, and only then signed or rejected by the POTUS.

    Both candidates, and their surrogates are talking out their rear-ends. They can’t even come together, put partisanship aside, and help solve the current spike in gasoline prices. How in the heck does anyone expect them to do anything about illegal immigration?

    2. When will the authorities of this country begin to enforce the Treason and Sedition laws that are on the books, justifiably putting an end to all the “Separatist” organizations such as the “Aztlan” traitors and others?

    McCain did not formally endorse this behavior today, but like as typical he hasn’t do a d@mn thing about it either.

    The only way to deal with McCain is to put enough conservatives and conservative wrenches in his administration to get him to see the light and never ever ease up on him..like he was finally shown about off-shore drilling.

    The funny thing about what I just said is that exactly the same thing will have to be applied to “Lightworker” Obama….

    Is there a difference between McCain and Obama…yes!

    McCain can get me some cheap suds and his wife is younger..and for now he likes the Heller decision.

    In Septemeber, McCain if he seriously wants to win, he will just have to realize his illegal buddies aren’t coming out to vote for him…at that point he will either save his candidacy by selecting a conservative VP or do something stupid again and spite his base -like pick Michael Bloomberg with LOTS of money to match Obama or some other anti-gun liberal-in which case his promulgations of a constructionist Supreme Court and support of gun rights will be crap in my eyes, and will deserve to lose altogether.

    Wiseman you are the one who has gone off his rocker not I…This nonsense in Arizona and such wouldn’t be happening without the current “Power Twins” seeking office. McCAin and Obama’s mutual sucking up to LaRaza has encouraged this. This has been one of my problems with both McCain and Bush…they push their policies on Iraq or illegal Immigration (that sound ostensibly good) but when stuff like Berkeley or this episode in Arizona (McCain’s home state by the way Wiseman ) happens …John McCain is nowhere to be found–why isn’t John McCain cussing and swearing at the illegals and sympathetic “government” people in Arizona for this nonsense against Joe Arpaio?-he certainly has no problem with that if it is a conservative policy or person he can’t stand, now does he?

    He should at least SPEAK UP-it is on TV Wiseman-not in some back alley with no journalists around…. if we are to believe his words on “border enforcement” are to be taken seriously he should SPEAK UP, now shouldn’t he?

    If McCain wants to win an election (just like a kid wants to get good grades in school), he needs to do the stuff it is going to take to make it happen, now doesn’t he?

    John S, you have to consider a few things when suggesting that Garcia be arrested. I don’t think this amounts to treason or sedition; supporting Aztlan does, but not this particular display. This would fall more under the threatening and intimidation heading, and I agree wholeheartedly that it can be taken that way.

    The bottom line is that as long as votes are up for grabs, politicians will not stop this sort of nonsense. Professor Alexander Tyler, back in 1787, said this about the Athenian Republic some 2000 years earlier;

    “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.”

    “A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.”

    “From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

    “The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years”

    “During those 200 years, those
    nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

    2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

    3. From courage to liberty;

    4. From liberty to abundance;

    5. From abundance to complacency;

    6. From complacency to apathy;

    7. From apathy to dependence;

    8. From dependence back into bondage”

    With the help of the liberals in this country, we are somewhere between number 6 and 7.

    Sure, you also have the option of just voting for Obama directly too. Just don’t kid yourself that you are doing it for conservative principals.

    “Isn’t America Great?”

    I sincerely love this county. Yes, I object to illegal immigration however, since both candidates are soft on it I have resolved myself to fighting it through action in the congress and donating to political action comities that will work to that end.

    ON EVERY OTHER ISSUE, (actually, on every issue since McCain isn’t as bad as Obama on immigration, Obama has vowed to have amnesty immediately!) McCain is a better choice for President.

    “Instead of attacking people that refuse to vote for your guy

    I attacked you? Are you Ok?

    “spend your time convincing McCain that he’s wrong on the issue”

    He has vowed enforcement first, which will give us time to pursue tougher action in congress. Again, Obama has vowed to sign whatever real live genuine amnesty bill that Reid, Pelosi et al send him.

    “We, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, have already told him that.”

    We, the AMERICAN PEOPLE nominated him to be a candidate for the president. He is running against the most liberal socialist candidate in history.

    “If you get McAmnesty to switch on that position,”

    Great news! He has vowed enforcement first. That way, you can join FAIR and actually DO something positive. On behalf of the old grump may I welcome you aboard.

    “I will be a vote waster, but I will be voting Conservative Republican. “

    ““As a citizen, I would rather have a President McCain that we fight with 20 percent of the time than a President Clinton or a President Obama who we fight with 90 percent of the time.” -Newt Gingrich

It’s just that being called a bigot because I want the ILLEGALS deported makes me wonder how I’m a bigot for wanting the laws to be followed.

    John, that pretty much sums it up. When a liberal has nothing else, like the facts or the law for instance, to fall back on, then they either have to blame a conservative, yell hysterically or call someone a name. Rational thought is not part of their world.

    Comprehensive immigration reform is just another way of saying they want to change the laws we already have on the books that they don’t like and that they refuse to enforce. I have to admit…whenever I hear a politician use that term, I want to blame a liberal, yell hysterically and call someone a name.

    Sheesh… this article is called “Unhinged in Arizona”, and after reading the majority of the comments, I have concluded that it’s “Unhinged in MM’s Blog”.

    I came to that same conclusion, a while back.

    I could make thousands of pinatas depicting illegal alien criminals who have raped or killed people and protest in the street. Little punks hitting pinatas with a stick in front of a book store don’t scare me. But… To me the message is very clear. These sort of people seem to want to wage war and own the United States without any responsibility. Nobody’s stopping them either. If they were to do that silly display near me I’d be sure to give them hell back. A crook is a crook and if he get’s unfair treatment I am all for it. Bad karma is a b*tch.

    I would put the army on the border with orders to shoot to kill.

    That would stop it.

    I solve problems.. I don’t prolong them.
    Gee, Rob, glad you posted that, someone else thinks that you had some more nuanced ideas that didn’t involve killing. Something about laws or something…

    Great idea, and after our Soldiers have killed off a bunch of people it would slow. Of course others might have something to say about us shooting unarmed people but they are probably RINOs or maybe even part Mexican. (A DNA test ought to sort that out.)

    Wouldn’t it be easier/better to build a fence, deport the lawbreakers and find a reasonable way of dealing with those people who REALLY want to become Americans and have proven it with a history of good citizenship? You know, like people serving in the military or something?

    Naaah… Shoot ‘em. That will work out fine.

    I was going to respond to this but you said it better than I could, so I’ll simply concur.

    Rob, you are one of the worst bigots that I have ever seen… you don’t even try to hide it.

    You mister, are NO conservative. You’re a white supremacist who is exploiting this place to push your agenda.

    You’d think that our hostess would want to distance herself from this kind of hate speech, but apparently not.

    I’ll say it again, it’s becoming sadly obvious that some forms of bigotry are taboo here and other forms of bigotry are just fine and dandy. This place has become a refuge and a platform for fascists, racists, and bigots. Moderation is non-existant.

    Sad, and disgusting.

    The only thing sad and disgusting is the La Raza twins (you know McCain and Obama) handing over this country to people who broke the law to get here in the first place. Not only did they break the law, they flaunt it and demand our taxpayer dollars to feed, clothe, house, educated, and medicate them. And THEN have the audacity to burn or beat paper filled objects with law enforcement faces on it because they *gasp* do their job. Yeah, nothing wrong with that, move along folks nothing to see here.

    I find the differences between McCain and Obama withering away every day. The fact that neither is interested in proposing a real solution to secure our borders and put an end to illegal immigration is just the tip of the iceberg to my thesis that they truly are birds of a feather.

    Is there a chance that we the grassroots can begin the for a real alternative? I think even a Ron Paul/Ralph Nader ticket would be better for our country than these two clowns…who would you recommend?

    other forms of bigotry

    platform for fascists, racists, and bigots

    I partucularly liked way you got “facists, racists, and biggots” all in one sentence. You throw around these words more than any liberal I know. Then of course, you look down your nose and say how “sad and disguting” the person is. Take note of how Bill Grant addressd the situation. He did not feel the need to use every PC term in the book. He simply used logic and common sense, w/o ridiculous name calling. I have a hard time beleiving anyone who throws around pC terms as much as you are truly conservative. You should be in command of a PC re-education camp. You would make a great frau Hilda.
