Unhinged in Arizona: Open-borders mob, led by public official, ravages Joe Arpaio effigy

Reader Tim C. in Tucscon sent me an e-mail about some completely unhinged open-borders activists who mobbed a book event for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. A group of young pro-illegal alien protesters repeatedly beats an effigy of Arpaio as Isabel Garcia–local reconquistadora and an official from the Pima County legal defender’s office–eggs them on. She then parades around with the effigy’s head as onlookers cheer and hoist up the rest of the battered body.

And they call us uncivil?

Unbelievable.

Watch the video for yourselves:

Tim writes:

“Last week, we had an interesting situation here in Tucson that our local media, with the exception of one local talk radio host, seems to be afraid to cover.

Maricopa county sheriff Joe Arpaio has recently released a book and was in town for a signing at a Barnes and Noble store. Sheriff Arpaio is well know for his strict adherence for enforcing the laws and has some unique ways of dealing with offenders – county prisoners live in tents, work on chain gangs, etc. I would be surprised if you haven’t at least heard of him. Anyway, a local “civil rights” group, Derechos Humanos (http://www.derechoshumanosaz.net/) was on hand to protest his visit to Tucson. Isabel Garcia, is a member of the group’s board and holds a position with the Pima County Legal Defender’s office, was at this protest. I believe, and many others in Tucson agree, that Ms Garcia’s actions were way beyond what would be considered as an acceptable form of free speech from a member of the Bar association and as a county employee.

I’m hearing from many other upset Tucson residents. Reader Tyler writes:

For some reason (most likely a sympathic view/common ideology), her superiors, other city employees, and news agencies refuse to report on the situation, and those who are questioned see nothing wrong with her actions.

This is obviously in conflict with the ethical code of conduct she is expected to follow, and is clearly spelled out by the Arizona Bar Association: she is expected to behave in a respectable manner, in or out of office, and is not to show disresepct to fellow members of the legal institution.

Please give this story the attention in deserves.

    Weary Citizen…I agree.

How is it that this administration and our DO NOTHING Congress manage to DO so much to bring this country to it’s knees. $400,000,000 to Mexico for drug fighting in THEIR country?
$100,000,000 for our border authorities taken out of the bill.

MY TAX DOLLARS GIVEN TO A CORRUPT COUNTRY!
$400,000,000 would build a hell of a barrier at the border.
Our border agents in jail for ten years!

    Sheriff Joe for Prez!

    That would stop it.

I have a better idea. Load all the illegals into cattle cars and turn them into dog food and lamp shades. Schmuck.

The Dishonorable Isabel Garcia claims to speak for Tucsonans when she states that Arapaio is not welcome in Arizona, yet he has held his democratically elected position as sheriff in Maricopa County for 14 years, soon to be 15.

As we have all witnessed by the public outcry, it is Garcia (who is NOT in an elected position) and her ilk that are unwelcome – anywhere!

Just this morning, she rebutted Jon Justice by claiming that it is a corporate conspiracy to oust her from her job – no, Ms. Garcia, it is the voice of the people who matter: the average American citizen who are now calling for your metaphorical head on a platter

    OH MY!

With the exception of Irish Rose, nobody here thinks amnesty is a good thing any more than adopting Mexico’s culture and language is.

If someone knows of a candidate better than McCain that has a legitimate shot at winning, then please say so. Otherwise, hold your nose, write letters and make phone calls. Vote for conservative Congressional candidates. Remember, the President can’t do anything without Congressional approval.

Irish Rose …my girlfriend whom I love was adopted legally by her American father from Mainland China in 1993 at the age of 7. She loves what she remembers was her Chinese culture -other than the physical abuse she suffered by her biological father in China because she was female and an “extra” child-but is first and foremost an American by her own consideration.

She and her adoptive family played by the rules for immigration to the US, unlike La Raza and their sympathizers.

If asking immigrants to play by our rules is too much to suggest, then it isn’t too unkind for me to suggest that those who violate our immigration rules and their political enablers are the real bigots, fascists, etc.

I’ve plainly stated multiple times now that I do not support the agenda of La Raza, and I recognize that we have a serious problem with illegal immigration.

My problem here (and I have stated this plainly as well) is with the hispanic-hating bigots on this website who hate all Mexicans – including those who have earned their US citizenship – treat all Mexicans like they’re cattle instead of people, and would deny someone their basic rights as a United States citizen simply because they don’t like their ethnicity.

I have the same amount of contempt for those who promote those ideas, and defend them.

    This is NOT conservatism.
And there are some among us here, who are NOT conservatives.

    Deal with it.

Perhaps those conservatives here who are still capable of understanding the difference between right and wrong will join me at some point in defending the right of other human beings to be treated with both dignity, and decency. I continue to hope.

The silence here from those who claim to have moral authority, is simply appalling.

Whoever hired that Public Defender needs to fire her immediately! She was hired to protect the rights of indigent people in court, not participate in a protest where they beat up an effigy of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Fire her now!!! She was a bad choice.
