Bad enough that I work in downtown Los Angeles for the city via the Metro rail system. I once lived it L A and glad I am no longer an Angeleno. Living in a nearby suburb is far closer to L A than I want to be.

I must hold out for another 8 years before retirement and a quick exit from California for the midwest. That is if I, L A, California, and, heaven forbid, with an Obamessiah administration, the USA last that long.

It is so comical how Dems NEVER learn. My grandmother lives in Montgomery, Alabama, which has a very high sales tax, but just outside the city limits where the city is spreading, the sales tax is much lower.

So Wal-mart and other stores are building right outside the city limit, and people are shopping there. That outraged the Montgomery mayor who is an “independent” (liberal in disguise). He actually was telling Montgomery citizens to boycott the stores because these stores were “hurting” Montgomery.

He has no clue that the sales tax is what is hurting Montgomery

That is what Chicago has done. Walmart built literally right across the street from Chicago city limits. Daley is running a patronage army that may exceed the power of his father’s. The corruption is rampant and not at all secret, but Daley may be untouchable, because he has layers of lackeys that insulate him.

Chicago is still a beautiful city and is not a dangerous place to visit, but the Democratic machine’s antics cannot continue without doing irreparable harm. The 10.25% sales tax will cause big problems.
