Sanctuary: the San Francisco curse
I’ve reported on the disastrous consequences of illegal alien sanctuary laws for the past eight years, in columns, books, and blog posts. San Francisco’s policy is one of the longest standing and most damaging. Cinammon Stillwell has an excellent piece flaying the San Fran libs in the wake of the city’s acknowledgement of its Honduran crack dealer shuttle service and dumping program.
What Cinammon says of SF goes for every city across the country that officially looks the other way at our immigration laws and endangers its citizens in the name of “compassion” and “justice:”
While San Francisco’s sanctuary city ordinance may have been well-intentioned, it has resulted in an untenable and anarchic situation that is taking its toll on city residents and surrounding counties alike. Providing sanctuary for law-breakers at the expense of law-abiding citizens is neither a compassionate nor a moral approach. The issue is not one of callousness towards illegal immigrants, but rather, the duty owed American citizens by their government. In some respects, every layer of the government has failed this test, but in this case, it’s the local government that is absconding on its duties. And all San Francisco officials can seem to offer up is more of the same.
They don’t call it the Wild West for nothing.

No.Federal.Money!
San Francisco is run by idiots voted into office by idiots and maintained by idiots, and the end result is people like Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. She is the perfect representation of her hare-brained constituency, who thinks their role in life is telling others how to live, think, and act. It’s the most intolerant city I’ve ever lived in and am glad I left.
I don’t understand why it isn’t pointed out more often (or more strenuously) that sanctuary policies come at the expense of the safety and security of American citizens. All of this talk about the “plight of illegals”, yet the focus on the plight of Americans and the preservation of our culture is repeatedly ignored.
Second class in your own country…that is the “American way” in SF and other sanctuary cities.
And I for one am tired of BEING the ignored class in my own country. If I’m paying the bills for all of these “guests” I should be allowed to choose who gets invited.
I think there must be something in the water. Can someone test the water supply in these sanctuary cities to make sure La Raza has not dumped mind controlling drugs!!!
What else can explain this!!!
At the core of modern liberalism is the belief that American is the source of the world’s evil: keeping non-whites down, raping the planet, etc. Citizens by extension are at least accessories to and likely perpetrators of the nation’s crimes. They must be punished and will be given no mercy.
Only by joining the Church of Liberalism can you be forgiven and absolved from your sins, from there to enter the heaven of the pearly-gated communities to delight in watching the torments inflicted upon those condemned to remain outside.
I finally get the title:
Sanctuary: the San Francisco curse
(sung to the Rice-a-Roni jingle)
What can I say? Living out here in the Gay Area, er, Bay Area, has fried my brain.
I don’t think we’ll ever see a shift back to reason out here. It’s too far gone. I agree with Bradley about the intolerance here. It has intimidated and silenced the hard-working, law-abiding citizens and legal residents.
I remember while growing up learning that one day California would fall into the ocean. For Berzerkely and the loonies out here, that plunge can’t come soon enough.
One more reason I never spend a dime of my money in San Francisco if I can help it. You don’t hear this much, but thank God I live in Oakland! It isn’t a lot better, but you don’t have Any Two-some Newsom/Major Nuisnace as the Mayor!
They must be put on the breaking wheel.
Welcome to the Neodark Ages.
Given the passing of time and the propensity for people to get, figuratively speaking, thrown under the bus, I suspect we may need to change the name of it to bus wheeling or something more appropriate.
Sigh. I am an employee of the city of San Francisco, and I am constantly embarrassed to tears by the utter stupidity of our “government” here. I don’t live in the city (are you kidding?), so I can’t have a say in the local elections. I moved out to the burbs nine years ago and will be leaving the state entirely when I retire in 4 years. I have had enough of life in the loony bin and I’m getting out of Dodge.
The rest of us need to take our picks and shovels out there to help that San Andres fault to hurry up.
Yeah, I understand that in Liberal sanctuary cities, there are always going to be innocent bystanders.
Having said that, most folks I know are enjoying the demise of California.
But, Californians, as Slick Willie used to say, we feel your pain.
I just READ WHERE MEXICO IS GIVING tED KENNEDY AN AWARD FOR AIDING AND ABETTING THEIR CITIZENS TO INFILTRATE THE USA….AIN’T THIS A GREAT COUNTRY WHEN YOU DON’T EVEN NEED TO HIDE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A TRAITOR.
There was a time when the west was pretty civilized but in many places The City most notably the citizens and the police have been hamstrung to the point that gangs run the place.
Hmmm, just where does that gang mentality come from?
Parts of this country have become almost viscous in their selfishness and self-centered attitude. The sanctuary laws are an example as is their attitude about coastal oil drilling. “We don’t want the risk of spills so the rest of the country can go hang.” Unfortunately it isn’t confined to selfish California, the folks on the west coast of my state, Florida, have taken the same attitude. “The nation needs oil but WE don’t want to take any risk so to h*ll with them.”
Every taxpaying citizen is a member of the class, which class should sue the City of San Francisco for its breach of fiduciary duty. How DARE they waste the taxpayer’s hard-earned money on harboring and transporting illegals? These citizens should sue to make CCSF open its books and reveal every red penny that’s been spent on this hideous practice, and they should sue the City to recover every penny and damages, to boot.

Oh. And recall Gavin Newsome!!
We don’t deserve compassion. We deserve the worst punishments that can be inflicted on us by our masters in Washington and our state capitols, and as difficult as it is to believe, it will get worse. We suck. If you don’t believe me, read this and know the founding of this country was the beginning of the world’s ills.
And you folks have a nice weekend, okay.
Take a close look and you willfind thatsStarting with thew white-house, that sells the US border and hence, the sovrignity to anyone with a pero or a petro-dollar, corrupt and timid politicians are selling out their electorates, while electorates are “puzzled” with a “huh?” followed by a disgust at the murser, rape or robbery, not realizing tht their politicians had sole them out long before they realized. After all, Bush’s Arbusto and Harken Energy are not new revelations. And if you still wonder, as they say.. “Fish starts to rot in the head”.
As for San Francisco, every member who voted for special order 40 or whatever made it a “sanctuary city” should be impeached, city council sued and federal funds cut-off. Then, and only then will the rape, murder and robbery of tax-paying, hard-working and honest citizens, stop,
that 1.6 billion we just gave Mexico should have been enough to buy the entire country….
we need negotiators that actually get some bang for our buck in DC, right now we have lame brains without a clue.
I want all members of congress to have mandatory drug testing, they have to be high and i’m not talkin about drinkin to much red bull.
WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS SHUTTLE SERVICE RIGHT?
Prince William County in Virginia had a tremendous illegal immigrant problem. The Board of Supervisors initiated a crackdown a little over a year ago and the results are nothing but astounding in improving the quality of life for the American citizens of that County. Of course, the MSM won’t report any of this because it proves without a doubt that something positive can be done to deal with this horrendously costly invasion and abuse of our over generous welfare system.

I would simply observe that Bush did not invent this cr*p, its been going on a lot longer than him. In fact, it is my opinion that he is one of the more honest folks in DC.
How will history remember late 20th century San Francisco?
Those low-lifes are at it again, by the way. From Hot Air Headlines.
Do Nothing= Others pay the price. Huh, San Francisco? Why don’t you name some sewage plants after San Fran Nan? I mean, she really relishes her 9% approval rating (or is that 14% now?) and has really taken your motto to heart.
I wonder if San Francisco will start to care when one of these illegal darlings attacks/maims/kills one of the city’s protected class, gays.
SF Chronicle update on a recent triple murder by a MS-13 gang member
Slaying suspect once found sanctuary in S.F.
The man charged with killing a father and two sons on a San Francisco street last month was one of the youths who benefited from the city’s long-standing practice of shielding illegal immigrant juveniles who committed felonies from possible deportation, The Chronicle has learned.
If I were the wife of the father and two sons, I would sue the city. Unbelievable dereliction of duty by the city. If she does, I hope she wins a huge settlement. The insanity of being more concerned with illegals than US citizens is appalling.
