I did.
Which is why I used the word “supporting” instead of “endorsing”.
It’s a tough decision, so many funny choices!
My vote for 1st Prize:
RH Potfry at The Nose on Your Face
(that Baby Obama and the beards… priceless!)
Close second: David Lunde’s Beatles.
I vote for Tour de Farce.
Please print these up as I would like to purchase one.
You can vote for your own, Tennyson.
I still like the message it conveys best.
I vote for Tour de Farce.
CHA-CHING
CHA-CHING
Tennyson gets my vote. It is about time that the
realconservative Americans wake up and see how the Libs really look at us. Enough of their “holier than thou” attitude.I see lgm votes like he is still in high school. “Obummer is better looking…” IDIOT
LGM forgets, all the great dictators were charasmatic.
I don’t know. I don’t think it was Obama’s “charisma” that lgm believes is “better looking.”
It’s not jealousy, lgm. No, it is out of the strongest of all conservative emotions, fear! Fear of illegal immigration, fear of homosexuality, fear of islamofacism…but there greatest fear is not of an Obama presidency that destroys this country, but that of an Obama presidency that is successful. And judging by his trip thus far, that fear may soon be realized.
Lord Tennyson for me. Absolutely on target.
Close but no cigar. But, you aren’t too far off-base, TOS.
I “fear…an Obama presidency that is successful” in destroying our country.
See? You were soooo close.
Oh please, his promises alone would backrupt this nation, and he doesn’t support domestic drilling ensuring your gas will stay high. His plan for Iraq is a plan to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I could go on and on and on…
TheOtherSide: Trust me, Obama can never unite this country unless it is by force.
sonofdy, off to re-education camp for you.
Camp motto: “Resistance if futile. You will be assimilated.”
Ooops!
if= isDamn, another week of Obama is great(pbuh) 24/7
Bankrupt this nation? You might want to check your history an see what party the biggest deficit spending presidents of the last half-century were.
Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Well according to the conservative’s favorite on-the-ground blogger in Iraq, Michael Yon, “a fair-minded person could say with reasonable certainty that the war has ended”. Not to mention that Maliki agrees with Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq.
If an Obama presidency scares you and BarryF so much, then you two have little faith in our constitution and the system of check and balances if affords our government. One might even go so far as to question your patriotism.
What he said.
Thanks MM for doing this contest. We have quite an array of talent on our side and it’s impressive to see it all in one place.
I think the best way to defeat a cult of personality, like the one that surrounds Obama, is by mocking.
Obama’s no Saviour, no Messiah, not even a JFK - he’s an inexperienced conventional politician with a record that’s unremarkable at best, cynically self-serving at worst. He has no principles that cannot be compromised in exchange for the pursuit of power.
The only things he’s got going for him are a highly manipulative “branding” effort and the drooling mindless support of the vast majority of the news & entertainment media. Plus he’s got the most spectacularly overblown ego in modern political memory - lacking in accomplishments, he tries to substitute shallow self-esteem.
I say we fight back. All of us. The best we can. One comment or blog post or silly picture at a time. Thanks to everybody who’s contributed, here, and elsewhere.
Then something remarkable happened. The Iraqi government came out Sunday morning, after the Sunday newspapers were printed and delivered, and issued a statement of their own announcing that the Der Spiegel article and its allegations about statements made by the Iraqi Prime Minister were false.
This incident is virtually a duplicate of another that happened a little more than a week ago, after the drive-by media breathlessly reported that the Iraqi Prime Minister was demanding that any bilateral security agreement between Iraq and the United States include a firm date for withdrawal: NPR - Al-Maliki Demands Timetable For Iraq Withdrawal. The only problem with that story was that it was false, as well. The BBC’s Baghdad bureau reported that when they listened to their recording of what al-Maliki actually said, they discovered that he never mentioned withdrawal at all - and that all subsequent reports in the Western media were based on a “mistranslation”.
full article
Tennyson’s introductory pic, “United Smug Elitists of America” gets my vote. It really sums it up about media bias.
I must say there’s a lot of talented folks out there. You’d think that McCain would take notice and act accordingly. Unfortunately, it looks like he wants to play “nice” and be the Dole candidate of 2008.
#119
Sambo,
Yes, it’s funny how they only had a problem with the translation after a call from the U.S. government.
That’s BS. You sure didn’t mention Obama’s withdrawal. The MSM spreads enough lies…why do people like you continue to help them.
That would be the Constitution that liberals constantly try to destroy in the courts, right? I believe liberals are trying to scratch more of it than they are trying to “check” more of to tip the “balances” in their favor.
Don’t worry about my patriotism, TOS. Unlike your candidate and his militant wife, I have been and remain “proud of my country.”
Well, the last thing officially on record is that Maliki’s camp has negated what was trumpeted previously by the MSM as his agreement with Obama’s
withdrawalsurrender timetable. They now indicate that it was a misunderstanding. Perhaps the Obamessiah can go back and ask him for a do-over?It’s funny how you and Chaps have the same magic 8 ball about a “successful Obummer presidency.” How many times did it take to shake the ball until the right answer appeared?
Funny, that you forgot to mention one important item after your misleading comment that deficit spending presidents were the worst for the economy ever! Typical liberal perspective. I guess you forgot that it was Clinton that loosened mortgage requirements for certain socio-economic groups.
I guess you and your fellow Obummer supporters think a large welfare system will “stimulate” the economy too, right? Where’s the freaking liberal fiscal conservative practices that they promised? They’ve already promised a 2nd bailout. What’s up with that?
You need to shake your magic 8 ball again. I don’t think you’re reading it correctly.
Mus’ be holdin’ it upside down again.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Okay you explain how he is going to pay for his 2.7 trillion in promises without rasing taxes except on the rich.
Thats 2.7 trillion in ADDITIONAL spending.
Direct translation from the audio of the interview:
That is exactly what Maliki said. Spin it anyway you want.
fixed
And, again, the last thing on record from the Maliki administration is that the remarks had been “misinterpreted” and is not in agreement.
“Spin it anyway you want.” That’s the last thing on record, chap.
Link to the translation? Because we already know one translation was wrong. Maliki said so and since he was the one speaking I would think he would know. BTW didn’t any one of Obamas 300 advisors on forgien relations let him know what a negotiation point is????
Clinton signed it. But it’s brainchild was Phil Graham and was voted on by strictly party lines in congress, Newt and his bunch voting for it and the evil democrats voting agaist it.
Come on…you don’t think the administration put any pressure for him to “clarify” his remarks?
And notice how all they put out were vague denials and never specified in any way how or what was misinterpreted?
Why is that?
Link to the article here.
If you are going by words out of Maliki’s mouth only, then you have nothing to stand, as it was “a Maliki aide released a statement saying the remarks had been misinterpreted, though without citing specific comments.”
And again, please tell me why this clarification was made only after a call from the U.S. gorvernment?
CNN’s Obama lovefest today is almost more than I can stand.
“Iraq warm to Obama’s 2010 withdrawal plan”
“Obama’s Afghanistan plan”
“Obama rejects McCains plan for Iraq”
“McCain is old Obama is young!”
“Obama Obama Obama Obama OH BAMA!!!!!
Okay so a democratic president signed the bill he could have vetoed and you blame the republicans. Right.
Tour de Farce is the timely one. It was also the one that had me laughing the longest!
Its your theory. (note not a fact), so you go ahead and make up your own answers.
But you had no problem with emjem24 strictly blaming a lame duck Clinton right?
You call being backed up by stories in both the WaPo and NYT “a theory”. Your blatant denial in the face of facts supports my orginial post in this thread about the right’s fear of a successful Obama presidency.
He signed it right?
It would if those stores actualy backed up you theory. Which they don’t.
Oh please, So how exactly is Obama going to pay for the additional 2.7 TRILLION in spending without rasing taxes?
While Kiss-up is actually my favorite, the Katy Couric-flipping-last-one is even more accurate! They would be my one and two choices.
Could you please provide your source for this number?
My “gut” tells me you’re right. According to Sean Hannity, even the so-called “youth vote” is losing interest. If that is true, it’s probably due to their usual desire to go “against the flow”. Remember when you were 18-25? When did you agree with the network anchor man?
“why is Obama preferred over McCain in Europe?”
OBAMA IN THE WAR ZONE…the Situation Room
Do you think CNN is in the tank for Obama?
Irish Rose, what really rubs me the wrong way is that Juan McCain knows we have no choice, and still insists on rubbing our conservative noses in his $h*t!
Yeah…that youth vote really let Obama down in the primaries. No way he could count on their support in the actual General Election.
Huh?
Did you bother to read them?

I have not watched cnn since the Dem convention of ‘92, but I know what you mean about the saturation coverage B. HUSSEIN Obama receiving in the MSM.
It is overt, overwhelming and unprecedented, which may be a good thing if he wins: By setting the bar so high, the MSM has inadvertently made it impossible for BHO to live up to the hype.
“
Take you conspiracy theories elsewhere.
Speaking of which I’m still waiting on your source for the alleged 2.7 trillion in additional spending.
Dude,
The NYT has the AUDIO! They are not going to patently falsify a quote and then claim to have the AUDIO to back it up.
If you do, then it is you who need to take your conspiracy theories elsewhere. And BTW,
So tell me again where TOS or I are engaging in speculation? It is patently clear that there was no claim of misinterpretation or misquoting until the White House stuck their nose in the situation.
And lastly, they still have yet to say how Der Spiegel was “not accurate.” If he was misquoted, what did Milki actually say?
Jealousy? His superior character and Ayers’s are what really impresses me about him. [snort]
TheOtherSide
http://taxvox.taxpolicycenter.org/blog/_archives/2008/6/17/
(yes I already know about mccains cost 3.8 trillion.)
SO you would have me believe that maliki does know what he said and meant to say but that the new york times, already proven to be an Obama hack news paper knows better than the guy what actualy said what was said.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that Maliki doesn’t know what words came out of his OWN mouth? PLEASE.
You know TOS, Ali al-Dabbagh’s blatant denials in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary reminds me of some other Iraqi governmental spokesperson….can’t quite place my finger on it….
WHAT OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE??? All you have given is 2 conflicting views of the same event. You are starting to sound like a truther.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that there is not audio of the actual conversation? Is the NYT making up the existence of the audio? Or are you saying that they are falsifying a converstion WHICH THEY CLAIM TO HAVE ON AUDIO?
I would think that trumps what any party, even the ones involved, claims to have said, especially when the motivations for such a denial are questionable.
A FREAKING TAPE OF THE CONVERSATION!
A FREAKING TAPE!
Who is being all “Truther” here? Who is denying hard evidence and taking the word of a spokesperson whose motivations are highly questionable in light of the pressure imposed by the US administration?
I
So says you,
From your article, Its clear that the NYT doesn’t have a direct quote of Maliki saying what you say he meant, only what it seemed to say (to the new york times)
I will leave you in the same catagory as the truthers..
I am done with this non-topic. You are schooled and dismissed.
sonofdy,
From your own link:
“Barack Obama’s tax plan will either raise $262 billion over the next 10 years or increase the national debt by $2.7 trillion.”
Seems like I wide range of possibility there, with 2.7 trillion being worst case.
Regardless, given McCain’s larger deficit woes, your link also supports my original point which you responded to:
chapoutier,
Never mind sonofdy…doing a quick search I found that he is a:
vandal
hate filled troll
professional commentor
and this is quite frightening
TOS, are you Roy Edroso?
http://newsbusters.org/people/roy-edroso
If so, that would make you a professional hate-filled commentor. I don’t have the time to check on the troll part, but I’m sure its out there, since it appears here. After all, your present claim to fame was in labeling all the top right wing bloggers “dunces.”
Foul-mouthed blogger Amanda Marcotte has high praise though, and says that “you rule.”
http://edroso.com/
But you need a new cartoon face because this one is quite frightening: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/archives/exploring_the_r/
No. I just found the page linked some where and found the MM description apropos.
I know YOU know that you are simply lying and/or being purposely obtuse, but, as a public service, I thought I would throw that up so that everyone else can know just to in general ignore anything that you have to say
Sticks and stones, Dave. If you disagree with anything I say, please feel free to refute with evidence. If not, I’ll let the truth and facts I disperse speak for themselves.
Associating with a known terrorist is hardly what I would call character.
So, what’s the next stop on “Obama’s Excellent Adventure”?
Michelle. Excellent. Linked up to LGF.
How to chose, all are very good. I picked 3. In no specific order: Hays, Well, and Potfry.
This may be the best poster contest I have seen.
I want one of each, but must vote for:
Potfry - The Star In The East
They are all so good it’s a hard choice. The Tennyson is my favorite. I need a second one that targets Obummer directly though, so my runner-up is Tour de Farce.
I’ll happily wear each on alternating days until the election.
I was going to create a “Obama World Tour” T-Shirt to enter in this competition but I found out it’s impossible to sew smoke and mirrors together. Ah, well…
Tennyson Hayes says it all with “United Smug Elitists of America”. However, it would make a better poster. “Tour de Farce” is the best T-shirt.
Barack Hussein isn’t Jesus Christ he’s the 12th Imam.
The Obama presidency is now 3 days old.
The troops greeted him in Iraq and Afghanistan with the flowers and shouts that they did not enjoy upon their arrival.
The press is crediting him for ending the war in Iraq, and today it looks like he’s going to broker a middle east peace deal. Next stop, old Europe.
This is going to be a long 8 years.
Contest!!!
What do all these have in common?
Bhagwan Shree Rashneesh
Jim Jones
Charles Manson
Reverend Sun Myung Moon
Marshall Applewhite
Barack Obama
First correct answer gets to spend a night in Michelle Malkins basement.
I have to get some of those t-shirts to wear on campus this fall.
Point me in the direction.
Credit card at the ready for deployment.
Periods and commas are your friends. Use them! Your 6th grade education will seem more elegant then.
Yeah….I reread that after posting and was pretty appalled myself. Usually I throw too many commas in to my sentences (and I probably use parentheses too much as well).
But my point that sonofdy is an idiot stands.
After careful and diligent study, and much gnashing of teeth, I would have to go with “Tour de Farce” by True Obamanation
