I’m looking forward to the debates. Unless, Obama can read it off of some sheets of paper or a teleprompter, he’ll stumble, contradict himself, or give some sort of vague answer, like “hope and change”, like he always does.

I don’t think conservative support for McCain is as strong as it was for Bush, but McCain is running against the most liberal senator out there.
That is also prbably why the moderate Democrats are shying away from the VP slot. Despite Obamania, having someone so far left on the top of ticket could affect the “Blue Dog” Democrats, as well as the seats taken in 2006 from Republicans.

about half of my conservative friends are in despair, the other half are openly rooting for big democratic victories so that we can pin the coming mess on them and regroup.

There are 300 million people in this country. Nobody has a good take on this election at the moment. Deep summer polls never hold.

wake up. look at the state polls. look at the states and races now in play that should be solidly red. of course anything can happen, but things are pretty grim and anyone who is not completely delusional should realize that.

I guess things were “pretty grim” when Dukakis was beating George Bush by 20 points in the polls in July 1988.

Obama is tied right now, a terrible sign for his campaign.

By the way, why are you commenting on this site? How much are you getting paid to try to divide conservatives and convince them that Obama is already president and they may as well not vote?

the problem JT is that his popularity is growing, especially on this recent road trip. that’s what we have to deal with.

this guy is crushing mccain and he’s been largely immune to the attacks. he’s got as much or more teflon than reagan I’m afraid.

Derel, what is your proof for the above? The glowing MSM coverage?

Liberals, like you, never understand that WISHING something is true doesn’t MAKE it true.

Being tied in the polls does not constitute “crushing” McCain. In fact, it is very worrying to many Democrats right now, such as Susan Estrich. Gore and Dukakis were far ahead at this time.
