Hell hath no fury like a Maverick spurned
So, the McCain camp is trying to have fun with the Obamedia lovefest. They’ve posted two music video spoofs and are asking supporters to vote for their favorite. I agree with the message, of course. And the vids are well-executed.
But doesn’t anyone at McCain Central feel the least bit silly mocking the same suck-up media that McCain himself basked in so warmly until just very recently and spent his entire career wooing?
Free piece of advice to the lovelorn Maverick: Perhaps McCain should leave the media mockery to others who haven’t had their lips planted on the MSM’s backside for decades.

Here’s one of the lovelorn vids:

Ok, that clip was hilarious. I had heard about this clip and was wondering how it would be. Those grownups were rather sickening and that is the exact type of behaviour and thinking I hope we teach our children NOT to become.
What will be even more hilarious is that when obama doesn’t win, all those that were in the tank for him will have such egg on their face.
Solution: Support him to protect our nation from the Obamunist, and if McCain is not sufficiently conservative and doesn’t appoint a conservative Supreme Court Justice. . .you have the 2012 Republican primary.
If he isn’t elected prez, BHO has a very lucrative career as a male model, if he wants it.
Don;t you get tired trolling the same crap all the time, Because I get tired looking at it everytime you do.

I can only go on what the candidates have promised to do and how their previous actions dovetail with what they have promised. Either way I have grudgingly accepted that it is going to take work to guide their policies. Interesting quote from Gingrich.
I wonder if this would be a better reply to every single time he says “McInsane.”
I think I will.

I still think that was a very *cough* conservative estimate on Newt’s part. What are the ten percent of things on which we’re supposed to agree with Obama? I can’t think of anything.
Yeah think of all the pants he could rip open while he poses for gawking women…what a career.
It’s interesting that CNN reports that Newt said this on February 9, 2008.
Did you hear that? Let me say it again, incase you’ve never seen this before, JA,
political victory was more important than ideological purity.
So when you write in Newt, you are going against his wishes.
Lol, Crow is the married mans most served dish. You can skip yours, I get enough for the both of us.
“At any rate, it’s painfully obvious to anybody who’s not been in a cave the last few decades that McCain has made a career out of playing to and sucking up to the media.”
Indeed, so much so that his political bent impressed another poltician to consider him as good veep material. Of course, that politician was John Kerry and the party was Democrat….but, I digress.
Well, he’s been “engaged” to the media for so many years – and so I suppose he can be upset he ain’t the one they ever intended to walk down the aisle. A maverick scorned and all that, y’know.
“He didn’t have the smarts to know they were just using him for years solely to attack Republicans”
Does anyone actually believe the liberal MSM dubbed McCain the “Maverick” for his partisan attacks on liberalism?
Yup. And now the Senate ringleader of the Mother Of All Amnesty/no borders giveaway wants to make that look like a pleasant stroll in the park. And, to be fair to RR, I don’t recall his insistence that it was “my top priority today and it will be my top priority tomorrow.”
“he would have been well advised to take a page from Ronnie’s playbook and hold the media at a distance,”
Scroll up and re-read past the comma where you snipped that off. Actually, I’ll save you the scrolling. Here yuh go:
I sez:
“he would have been well advised to take a page from Ronnie’s playbook and hold the media at a distance, only using them when he wants to “go over their own heads”.
Smart politicians use the press and not the other way around.
Bill Grant, I fight with Newt over that too.
Well, as a conservative who has been told by McAmnesty to F-off, I say McAmnesty is a shameless fool who pursued the media like a love sick idiot.
When did McCain tell conservatives to F-off, zorro? Do you have a link to when that happened that you could share with us?
I remember that too Zoro. F Off is going right back to McInsane.
Maybe if McCain gets enough roid reaming, he’ll get the clue that liberals are out to get him and that they’re only interested in what they can screw him out of and that won’t change if and when he become the Pres.
Those who want McCain to win should criticize his illegal-pandering strategy. He’s currently polling at 22% of the hispanic vote, while ticking off the GOP base and alienating moderates like me who live at ground zero of the invasion. The American people overwhelmingly reject amnesty, so his La Raza kiss up is a double loser. If he wants to lose, then this is the way to do it and he will have no one to blame but himself.
Exactly. Good post.
Whoa. Sorry. He said it to Senator Cornyn, who opposed the amnesty bill.
But McCain’s comments about how those who opposed the bill were racists, in addition to his refusal to listen to the majority who opposed that bill, pretty much was his giving the finger to the conservative base he’s been trying to court since then.
If anything, McCain needs to take a few solid, lasting trips down Damascus Road, jellibean. Ya gotta have at least one advisor who’ll sit you down and tell you where/how you’re flubbing it.
And I pay no attention when folks toss out words such as “deranged” in lieu of intelligent give & take or some witty repartee.
It speaks more to their emotional state and frustration than anything. If they were sincere they would be spending their free time at the local McCain HQs licking stamps, making coffee, making phonecalls and reaching the clueless 1/3 of voters who have no idea who for whom they should vote. Instead you have folks complaining that their candidate might lose in comment threads. I wonder if they’ll even vote come November.
One thing I have to say for the Obama supporters, wrong as they are. They’re out there ringing doorbells, passing out literature and are busy doing something proactive in real life to help elect the Obamessiah. That’s the type of thing that impresses me, not silly emotional insults tossed willy-nilly in a comment thread.
taylork and I have noticed that liberal trolls and Mc supporters never comment on MM threads like this one:
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/07/22/sf-sanctimony-policy-enables-murder/
When, where or how has he been trying “to court” the “conservative base?” I have surely missed that.
I’m just guessing here, but my expectation is that he’ll offer his VP choice as his sole “courting”/fix-it.
I think there was one conservative at the La Raza party. Outside of that, I’m at a lost.
I’m on the McCain campaign mailing list.
This is the first time since the Maverick assumed the throne as the presumed nominee, that I feel like they know what they’re doing.
Yeah, hell, Bill. Let the illegals fill up the emergency rooms. Let them form gangs that cut off people’s heads. Let them kidnap people. Let them go on welfare, foodstamps, housing allowance.. on MY dime.
All my concern is just too many darn Red Bulls.
Yeah, too much caffine Bill. Who cares if they kill, rape, murder, steal..suck my money…
You Bill, you worry about caffine addiction, and I will watch this video and wonder how anybody can feel anything but pissed off anger.
wiseman, do a sidebar search here and at Hot Air. You’ll find the reference you seek.
Aww, poor widdle Bill Grant is upset with the right again.
When did McCain tell conservatives to F-off, zorro? Do you have a link to when that happened that you could share with us?
If it’s so easy, perhaps you could do this for me? When I searched for McCain telling conservatives to F-Off, I found …. zero.
The majority of Republican politicians, the good ones at least, do not spend their career trying to woo the media. McCain is exceptional in this regard.
Ever heard of “McCain-Kennedy”? Or “McCain-Feingold”? Or “McCain-Lieberman”? Or “tax cuts for the wealthy”?
We said that in 2004 with respect to Bush and Kerry. And instead we seem to have ended up with a man who makes Bush look like Reagan. So lets dump the senile old coot, in order to save our nation.
Hey Rob, maybe you can replace Red Bull with this little treat that is provided by the people McInsane wishes to grant amnesty to.
On second thought, better not.
Time to go to see blacktiger (Eric) and Evan perform a comedy act that has a conservative bent..hard to find -I know – that’s why I’m willing to fight traffic to go!
And A Shout out to Torrance PD and their operation:
No amnesty for them….wait, we have McInsane and Obambi runnin. Sigh!
Weird Bill Grant
If you thought that Bush was supposedly more conservative than Reagan then I guess that explains why you imagine that McCain is a conservative as well. FYI, it was well understood at the time that Bush was a “compassionate conservative”, even if just how “compassionate” was not clear at the time. Bush was the moderate compromise.
Please do not feed the troll.
Yes he did. Now go back and do some research on it. Congress PROMISED that if he would sign it it would be the LAST amnesty. Try to find President Reagan’s statements. John McCain was in that congress. I hope Juan picks a good vice president and a bad cardiologist.
(o;
Not that I wish ill of the man, certainly not.
ArizonaNeanderthal
Correct … the Dem congress never had any intention of enforcing the border which was what they also promised to get Reagan to sign it …
I’ve said numerous times that illegal immigration is my number one issue. But just as the Gingrich quote suggests, I’d rather fight with McCain over immigration than Obama over every single issue.
Concered Citizen #142, I bet that had to kill Newt to say that. Being how McCain/Feingold was the reason he couldn’t enter this time around. The posting on his site was so anti McCain they switched to another format (not the official reason for the switch). But if you go to his site, you’ll see that people are still not happy with McAmnesty.
Hell, if McPain even picked up on just two of Newt’s issues (Drill Here, Drill Now, pay less and his Illegal alien proposals) he would win 48 states hands down. He’s liberal enough that I wouldn’t be far out on the limb to say all 50 states. But his campaign staff are idiots.
wise man, you really need to work on your internet skills.
Bill and wise-man, some reading material for you.
Also this.
Food for thought.
OOOHHHH The racist are at it again. Is that right Irish Rose? We call for the order of law and we’re called racists? OHHHHH I better watch it.
So when a cop arrest a gang banger he’s racist. When a Judge orders an illegal deportedm, he’s a racist. Boy, come to think of it a lot of people, by your thinking are racist.
Water off a ducks back.
When I see cop cars with the bumper sticker that reads: “You Report, We Deport” I’ll stop my “racist” post.
John,
I can’t agree with you more. I don’t know what his fascination with illegals is all about, but I know it’s costing him dearly. As I watched my choices dwindle before the primaries, it came down to McCain and Romney. Romney wasn’t my first choice, but standing next to McCain, he looked like the ideal candidate, regardless of who mowed his lawn.
I’m not going to bicker with the likes of flenser from now until election day about it, though. I’m sure that the real conservatives will end up casting their vote in a way that will ensure that Obama doesn’t get elected. If someone isn’t smart enough to figure how important the Supreme Court is, then they’re probably dumb enough to vote for “hope” and “change” anyway.
I see people here who have the same beliefs making smart ass comments about each other over this. This ridiculous infighting delights the lefties to no end. I know I wasn’t worried about Gore at all when the Gore crew were whining about Nader and the Nader groups kept saying how legitimate his chances were.
So I hope we have a lot more stories about whiny, morbidly obese welfare recipients, because at least we can mostly agree on that.
LOL CC, good point. BTY, I voted for Romney so I hope the old man has at least half a brain cell left to pick him.
Taking off. Have a nice night.
Amazing! With all of Obama’s nutty gaffes, the MSM has the audacity to file this
reportObama propaganda:http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080722/pl_politico/11939
“McCain gaffes pile up, and mixed-up word choices fuel critics”
Of course, Yahoo puts it as a headline. At least McCain is taking them on. They should post every Obama gaffe into a campaign commercial showing how dumb Obama is.
More reading for wiseman and Bill
I-Rose, I hope you’re not an SPLC-ite. They make Castro look like Reagan! Truly a hate-driven anti-America psychotic bunch of fringe leftists if there ever was one.
Irish Rose,
The Southern Poverty Law Center is about as socialist and pro-democrat (and approaching anti-white as is LaRaza) as one can get outside of La Raza…their point of view is fine if one is a Kos Kid or Obamamaniac. As I recall also they are gun control advocates (i.e.they’d have problem with the Heller decision).
Food for thought.
Gabe:
I just saw that article and, boy, did it p!ss me off.
Read this:
Disgusting.
Apparently, in this race, ageism is okay. And if you have an elderly parent or relative, they’re probably losing it, too – you know how those old people are. Past the age of 70, they’re not fit for anything!
I wonder if all the liberals in the media have time to eat, seeing as their tongues are constantly occupied liking Obama’s shoes.
And the list of gaffes at the end is just…petty.
Okay, so here are Obama’s gaffes:
57 states
Babies as “punishment”
Grandma as “typical” white person
Keep adding to the list. We could double, no TRIPLE, the list by the media.
Bias? What bias?
I’m sorry. That’s a fail. What I asked for is a link to where McCain allegedly told conservatives to “F-off”
Last time I checked, someone named “Cornyn” does not equal “conservatives,” zero. Is your real name is “Cornyn”?
Here we go – from one of Michelle’s posts.
Ten gaffes in that post.
And if gaffes make McCain look “old”, I guess Obama’s gaffes just make him look…stupid.
Naw, we’re talkin’ even nuttier than the Daily Kooks Kidz, runba. The SPLC hates everyone/thing that’s not the SPLC. I don’t know if I-Rose was joking there, but these looneys are none too pleased with Catholic folks, either.
Id like to thank everyone for not replying to 130, 132, 133, 134, or 138.
Maybe it will get bored.
And then there’s hope for more sanity and less “Insanity.”
wiseman:
And it’s not even an American.
The links are there for information only, not to promote the SPLC.
McCain’s criticism is already starting to have an effect, and the MSM is getting very sour and snippy. They are very confused in this article on Drudge about the shallow, stupid megalomaniac Obama appearing at the Temple of Hercules:
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080722221541.itdi1dcz&show_article=1
These people do NOT like to be criticized and get very defensive.
Of course they don’t like it. How dare we peasants even contemplate criticizing them!
Reminds me of the story about some journalist who was astonished when George Bush won the second election:
“How can it be? No one I know voted for him!”
I’m not feeling the thrill up my leg but I have a tremendous build up of gas after watching some of this crap. The very dangerous part of this is that it does affect the mind of OB and he is approaching, if not already there, megalomania. The press is so shallow in principle and standard they will crown him regardless of the what the electorate says.
So wiseman, you don’t think the discussion in committee concerning Shamnesty between McCain and Cornyn where Cornyn tries to make a point that McCain has been an absentee senator (by the way, I think both McCain and Obama should resign from the Senate as Dole did, to run full time) and the old man (McCain) loses his temper and tells Cornyn F-you is not quite the same as F-off? Well, I apologize for the discrepancy. And Cornyn is not a conservative? Well he is more a conservative than that hot headed Shamnesty promoter. But as the headline at Hot Air indicated, I wasn’t too far off. And by the way, you republicans “no matter who’s running” are awfully sensitive about criticism of McShamnesty. I guess you know he will never earn the support of conservatives.
One more reference wiseman, you’ll really appreciate this one. Yes, it refers to the original incident but the words are not mine.

Ditto.
The problem as an info source, I-Rose, is akin to referencing webpages on a KKK site as resources on the nature of racism. (Or to a website run by foxes on the appropriateness of raiding henhouses!
)
What confused me is that you said:
And McCain did not tell you to F-Off. Cornyn is not all conservatives, or you.
And as I said before, in the past 7 years, liberals said that Bush “was not my president” and that was a very childish attitude to take for the president of the united states. No one is telling anyone that they have to agree with McCain, but since he won the republican nomination, he is not “your” candidate if you are a republican. Or, you can say that McCain “isn’t my candidate” and be as childish as these whiny liberals were about Bush.
I believe that what you see as ’sensitive about criticism’ is quite incorrect, as there are many lies and half-truths told about McCain, mocking his name just as the liberals mocked Bush’s name and acted the same – that I take offense. Argue that his decisions are wrong in your opinion, but don’t act like a liberal and use liberal tactics against the republican nominee out of respect for the other people who don’t despise him. But I don’t see any of you people stopping this juvenile behavior.
Couldn’t care less. I’m not going to be voting for Hillary.
Hey Zorro, your post #163, I’m puzzled, how did you do that?
sarc/
Correct, I wouldn’t speak to that open borders career politician under any condition.
I’ll tell you what wiseman, you vote for McShamnesty, I won’t. Fair enough?
You know what?
…. so you don’t vote for the republican against the democrat, and then we’ll all have to fight the president 90 percent of the time. That sounds like a wonderful plan, Zorro.
How many McInsane Brownie points were generated from this thread? (not pointing to wise-man, just in whole, no wise cracks here)
John, check out Michelle’s enunciation of “Maverick” in this clip (around 3:25 in). Brian asks her if she will now support McCain, you’ll love the response.
Wiseman #171, Please mention Newt when quoting him. He deserves the credit for his quote, don’t you think? Plus it puts more weight behind it.
Just saying.
If our hostess can’t contain herself, then why should they?
Just sayin’.
Wiseman, I’ve already switched parties independent, I am no longer a republican, in PA it’s “no affiliation”. I voted republican all my life. And what do we get? Mel Martinez, Arlen Specter, John McCain? Nope, no more RINOs in my future. I won’t vote for Obama and I won’t vote for McShamnesty. I will vote for Melissa Hart for congress.
Ha HA HA, That’s some great stuff there Zorro. Of Course had to watch the whole thing. Michelle’s the best. Plain and simple.
I just wish she would have a thread asking us what questions we would want Hannity to ask McAmnesty for the interview tomorrow.
Mine: Why is Juan “Mexico First” Hernandez still on his camapaign? Hasn’t he had time to review his past comments?
Oh, I could go on a roll,
Would you support Jamiel’s Law?
Would you cut off funding to sanctuary City’s, Counties, and States?
What’s your reaction to the Mother who recently lost her husband and sons in San Fran?
Do you think English should be the official language of the USA?
How much money have you taken in donations from La Raza?
Oh, I wish Michelle would post a thread like that.
You remind me of that ‘lifelong republican’ who is voting for Obama that won the youtube video contest. He’s hoping that Obama wins, and he’s not voting for McCain, just like you!
Isn’t that a coincidence!!!!!
*Obamacan – Winner, Obama in 30 Seconds
Wishful thinking there, #1:
Ordinary Americans are stupid dunces who will vote for a creep like Barry Dunham aka Barack Hussein Obama.
why do you hate americans bruce?
LOL Barry, why do you hate Dunhams? Are they too conservative for you?
Does anyone know how we can get this amnesty issue on the November ballot? Seems we need to to circumvent the two traitors to this country who are vying for the top spot.
Of course if it were A REFERENDUM anything like in MA ,THE POLS WOULD JUST IGNORE THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE AND DO WHAT THEY WANT…..
You loony liberals seem to think that this is your blog, and not Michelles. If you can’t stand what she writes I’m sure there are plenty of blogs that would suit you better. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
The fact that you think that the SPLC is a useful source of information tells us all that we need to know about you – that you’re a moonbat.
In fact you’re a proud member of Moonbats For McCain, or MFM.
I like the idea that McCain is all butt hurt over the MSM media spitting in his face. They were the ones who handed him this nomination, not because they liked him but because everyone but him running for the GOP nomination could have beaten obama or hillary. Fred Thompson and Guilliani couldn’t get media coverage in the primaries. Et Tu Fox news.
Lousy reader there, Bruce. Note that I qualified it by saying “Ordinary” Americans. I guess you don’t know what that means. I will spell it out.
By “ordinary”, I mean the guy who delivers your mail. Or the lady who served you your lunch at the diner. Or the the fellow who changes the oil in your car.
Not ivory tower college graduates who go on to journalism. Not Hollywood movie stars. Not political pundits on PBS.
It’s well known that Obama is not very popular among blue collars (unless they are black). Why do you think he’s reaching out to NASCAR fans?
Oh, well, McLame can look on the bright side: if he loses to that pathological liar in November, he will be back in the MSM’s good graces.
– txvet2
But because she’s not, you do waste time reading her columns? Interesting choice of words.
If she were just part of the pack, none of us would waste the time reading her columns and blog posts.
- txvet2
That’s not what txvet said, Yashmak.
It’s clear he pointed out that if Michelle were just another just-hold-yer-nose-everybody RINO elitist then reading her columns/blog entries would indeed be a waste of time.
I think the best way to have at it, Daisy, is through “nationalizing” the election around the issue. Referendums are applicable only to limited places.
But something like a “Pledge To Save America” along the line of the 1994 “Contract With America” would probably be very effective. Moreso, since it woulddn’t be just GOP candidates signing on, the issue cuts across all party lines. So it wouldn’t be partisan. (Esp. with the interchanagable official GOP and Dem party positions being for expanding the illegal invasion!)
Wise_man, you are such a simpleton.
