   He was able to say what he needed to say before leaving all of us too soon. Many never get that chance. We would do well to take everything he said in his lectures to heart and live them as he did. Blessings to his family and God has another angel.

    Pancreatic cancer is so unbearably quick and deadly because it starts right in the body’s core and is usually irreversible even before detection. My father had just whipped a very low level of prostate cancer when he was diagnosed with pancreatic last year, the first case ever discovered on both sides of my family.. He died just five weeks later.

    His only symptoms before diagnosis were, a lower pain that he mistook for a strained back muscle, and a complete loss of appetitive right before diagnosis.

    I wish Randy’s family the very best.

    I tried pointing out once in a forum populated with 99.44% extreme liberals that cancer and cardiopulmonary diseases kill many multiples of what AIDS does and you’d think I’d personally shot all their house pets in the way they lashed back. AIDS is the only disease with civil rights and because it primarily affects core liberal constituent groups, it reaps a disproportionate amount of funding.

    Besides, complaining about this does nothing to help Michelle Obama’s children and John McCain’s God’s children. Shush.

    I just watched his lecture 3 days ago because I’d read about him here. (Thanks Michelle!)- I got so much out of that lecture that wasn’t even meant for me! I learned so much! I made my roommate watch the lecture with me last night. We were up until 1 AM watching it.

    I feel so badly that he’s had to leave his family behind. You see it in all the press about him- he can talk about cancer all day, but he can’t talk about leaving his children.

    I pray that they realize how lucky they were- and I hope those of us who got to hear his speech apply what he’s taught us.

    I used to work for Disney and there’s a point in time when he characterizes the office politics as “Soviet Russia- kinda dicey!” and I just LAUGHED… because when I worked for Disney the ‘Dreaded M.E.’ (That’s Michael Eisner who we hate and dispise and spit on)- was getting ready to get the boot by Roy Disney. People were split on the issue. I, of course, a patriot- stood with Roy!

    Anyway- he hit the nail on the head about what’s so hard to explain about working for that Company. I felt as though finally I’ve connected with someone who understood! (I still get asked why I left- and I’ve considered going back.)

    Anyway- lots of valuable life lessons- and the lecture is a little technical and a little long-winded- but stay until the end because the last 2 lines he speaks make the entire speech a 360.

    My mother was diagnosed with the same pancreatic cancer about the same time as Professor Pausch. She had the Whipple, 2 rounds of chemo, one round of radiation and is doing amazingly well. I wish all cancer patients had the same luck. My prayers go out to the family and friends of Randy.

    It’s sad that he’s no longer here with us on this Earth, but geez, he’s done more living than a lot of people!

    His lessons are definitely something to pass on.
    He was quoted as saying, “My book sold a million copies, but I only cared about the first three.” (In reference to his three children).

    He was a very moving individual…and I never met the guy, but gee, I wish I had!

    I saw Patrick Swayze on TV the other day and he has had pancreatic cancer for a while now. He looked much better than when I saw him a few months ago.
