"Unity" conference? Funny, no Chicago media that I have seen has reported the brawl that took place. Only one source I have noticed so far. Bias? What bias? BTW, I was wondering what the "unity" was supposed to be in UNITY'08.

Unity '08, the joint convention of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), and Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) that wrapped up in Chicago on Sunday.

OK. Now I understand. And from the same article by Mark Fitzgerald comes this interesting tidbit, again, from Unity'08:

With newspapers in such a parlous state, is it time for the federal government to again subsidize local papers?

I guess like any failed liberal enterprise nowadays, they expect a government (read, taxpayer) handout.

I have a simple question. Why is it offensive to say “colored people,” yet noble to say “people of color?”

Turning a participial phrase into a prepositional phrase transforms the exact same thought from evil to virtuous?

Oh, my gawd. Do these little simps realize just how ridiculous they sound? Political celebrity aside, their admiration has morphed into a sickening idol worship.

When he loses the election to John McCain, they’ll jump out of windows, enmasse.
