Barack Obama is afraid of himself
Update: Obama now says he wasn’t race-baiting with his dollar bill comments. Horse-hockey!
***
How moronic is Barack Obama’s latest, bogus whine about Republicans emphasizing his funny name and how “different” he looks from other American presidents to gin up fear?
Well, look who’s afraid of himself. This comes not from the GOP. Not from conservative talk radio. Not from John McCain, who has been too busy calling members of his own party racist for challenging the Obamessiah.
No, this comes from the Senate website of…Barack Obama:
I remember when I first ran for the state Senate – my very first race. A seat had opened up, and some friends asked me if I’d be interested in running. Well, I thought about it, and then I did what every wise man does when faced with a difficult decision: I prayed, and I asked my wife.
And after consulting with these higher powers, I threw my hat in the ring and I did what every person on a campaign does – I talked to anyone who’d listen.
I went to bake sales and barber shops and if there were two guys standing on the corner I’d pull up and hand them literature. And everywhere I went I’d get two questions:
First, they’d ask, “Where’d you get that funny name, Barack Obama?” Because people just couldn’t pronounce it. They’d call me “Alabama,” or they’d call me “Yo Mama.” And I’d have to explain that I got the name from my father, who was from Kenya.
As for how “different” Obama looks, here is another “attack” on his looks. Not from the GOP. Not from conservative talk radio. Not from John McCain.
It’s from Barack Obama in Berlin last week, via LGF:
“I know that I don’t look like the other Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city.”
Self-fear-mongerer Barack Obama: Afraid of himself.
Stop the hate! End the fear!
It’s the pot calling the kettle black.
Oh, wait. That’s racist.

Reviews of Obama’s latest victim card stunt…
Jake Tapper: “Pretty inflammatory.”
Yeah, and defamatory.
Allahpundit: Defibrillating a desperate narrative.
Peter Kirsanow: “If the GOP really wanted to scare voters they would simply threaten to replay all of Sen. Obama’s insufferable statements, accumulating rapidly by the hour.”
Instapundit: Gaffe-o-matic!
Flashback: Ed Morrissey called out Obama’s race card strategy last month.

Since the Obama campaign would die of old age waiting for someone from the McCain campaign to ACTUALLY make a racist comment, they had to rely upon one of their minions in the radical left MSM to get the narrative going. Mark my words, from here on out the MSM will constantly refer back “to that time McCain went radically negative and pulled race into the campaign”. I still can’t believe NOBODY has accused Obama of being racist for his constant insinuations that racism must be the motivation behind McCain campaign tactics and the many Americans who don’t want to vote for him. If a white candidate suggested on a regular basis that blacks were not going to vote for him because he is white (thus assuming a racist motivation on the part of most blacks) there would be all hell to pay. The NYT puts out a lot of crap, but this ranks up there among the worst in my opinion. Outright lies and slander against McCain. Disgusting! I hope the conservative blogs (not to mention the McCain campaign) go nuts over this. If anything warrants it, this does.
“Hope. Change. Hoping for Chamge. Changing for Hope. I’m the One The whole world as been waiting for. Anyone who disagrees with Me or disapproves of Me is a racist.
You’re welcome.”
Yes, it’s hard for me to believe he was worried about what Republicans would think. Of course, on the other hand that would mean we are the ones he is taking orders from, lol. But, again, as you said the bottom line is principle . Refusing to go because there would be no adoring entourage doesn’t speak well of what drives him.
Then again he might have been petrified of getting a negative response/reaction froom the wounded troops. They could ask much tougher questions than his worshipful media. (then again, who couldn’t ask tougher questions than the Obamedia)
Speaking of “tough questions”, when is Obama going to debate McCain? Will he do it? Or is he going to hide in the gym?
atheling, re: ” Having him sink into well deserved obscurity is reward enough for me“.
Oh, no,no, no, obscurity is the most dangerous state of all! for a communist, or a gangster! The majority of Americans don’t even know who Soros is… or who Marx was for that reason.
The communist revolution is at our door & has gotten this far because of “obscurity”, we refuse to see it!
Madam Hostess, PLEASE! a thread on Soros.
So – is he afraid of his Black half or his White half?
yall do know he’s half white – right????
“Hope. Change. Hoping for Chamge. Changing for Hope. I’m the One The whole world as been waiting for. Anyone who disagrees with Me or disapproves of Me is a racist.”
I agree, NYK – my summary is much more substantive. But somebody had to pad it out a bit.
I don’t rebut what’s on the Social Labor Party’s website or the National Socialist’s site, either.
Hint for ya, if you’re new to politics and/or the internet: Don’t believe everything you read on a webpage. Moreso when it’s politicians promising a chicken for every pot along with the sun, moons and stars tossed in as incentive – and especially when HopeNChange is the binding glue.
It is a nickname that my friends gave me way back before computers and blogs. But I could go into my profile and change it to that. Evidently I struck a nerve. Ron the Ordinary…what do you guys think? Does it have a ring to it?

There’s a page somewhere that has a countdown clock from when McCain first challenged Obama to a townhall forum debate. It’s still ticking.
It’s no secret that McCain is awful reading a teleprompter, but without a teleprompter Obama gets that deer-in-the-headlights look. I don’t blame him for being terrified of a prospect where he won’t get away with HopeNChange answers to hard questions.
Ron Rockstar:
Don’t you love being lectured at by 20 something year old know nothings?
How dare you call yourself a star, you ordinary mortal! Didn’t you know that only Obama is allowed to be special?
His great herd of nonconformist teenagers and 20 something year olds, in their great wisdom and experience, have spoken!
I know exactly what you mean atheling. I just try to have some fun with serious topics, usually. I like taunting the trolls as well. Some liberals take politics way to seriously, but; all liberals aren’t horrible. Hell, some of my best ex-friends are liberals.
I tell you what would do alot more for my children….boards like this spending 80% of their time striking down each and every one of BO’s proposals, positions, etc.
It’s already been established this guy isn’t all his handlers and the media makes him out to be.
Any ads that try to portray him as one thing or another as a person will do nothing but help get him elected.
His anti-economic growth, anti-freedom (that’s what i consider wealth redistribution) and pro-union/protectionist positions must be attacked endlessly and repeatedly through careful discourse and analysis for the failures these policies will bring forth.
Heck, someone’s got to do it – McCain isn’t going to get the message out with only one reporter following him!
Actually, no it isn’t. If you want to counter his points, that’s fine. But just re-stating every other conservative talking point doesn’t count.
I don’t know what either of those things have to do with Obama. But perhaps you should study those sites for a bit, so you can understand the actual underlying principles of Socialism.
atheling — adjust your jock strap. You can call yourself whatever you want, Ron. I was just calling a spade a spade.
What are you talking about? How is “several” inconsistent from “plenty”? Would you like me to cite them all? I figured since you are clearly a biblical scholar you would know what ones I am talking about. But that was my whole point with respect to not wanting to get into a citation war. I am sure you can cite many examples from the Koran and I can cite ones from the OT. Lets both concede point that and move on to the substance of the argument.
Please tell me where you disagree rather than blanket, useless statements that I am wrong.
And why did Nazism really grab hold in Germany? Because there was a fundamental flaw with the society into which it was introduced at that time. So they latched onto a radical ideology. Same with many middle eastern/asian/african countries. These societies suffer from extreme poverty, lack of basic human rights, etc…So the populaces latch onto a radical ideology. But the root cause what causes them to turn to that is a separate issue from what they use to justify their actions.
nyk:
Isn’t it time for you to head to some club, sweetie?
Oh, atheling. That’s cute! Is that what you think “The Kids” do, Sweetie?
Well, nyk,
that or else you must be home listening to the rap music on the MTV.
You conveniently ignore those posts which address the fact that the 9/11 terrorists were affluent. The recent attempt to bomb the airports in the UK were perpetrated by medical students.
Those facts belie your false stance that it’s economics (typical marxist ideology) that drives them. It’s their religion. The “lack of basic human rights” is because of ISLAM. Islam does not respect human rights – look at how they treat women!
Are you that blind?
You also choose to ignore the statistics provided above, of the UK Muslims, over 30% of whom believe that killing unbelievers is justified!
Are you that blind? Or is this just obtuseness?
Good evening nyk. Kind of late to jump in here but I would like to remind you that at least twice I have posted specific policy positions from his website and why I thought they were nothing but empty words, or worse yet just more ineffective govt. programs that will further raise taxes. I never recieved responses but I’ll give it a try. Here’s one off the top of my head:
Obama wants to create a program to show industries how to modernize. My objections are
1. Where do these experts come from (ans: industry is are already using them)
2. Most manufacturing plants that remain in existence are already operating at high efficiency using the latest technology, or they wouldn’t still be in business.
3. What makes Obama think the owners don’t know how to run their businesses effectively and why would anybody ask the government for advice on how to do things better?
Your reply?
Ha! Love this. Reminds me of my overprotective parents as a kid. They’d ALWAYS talk about “The MTV.”
Um…I’m so many things (and I even posted here once about how people — especially Asians — think I’m part Asian ), and a lot of my friends who identify as African-American, or Asian are as well. So…your point is…?
Sure Barry Obama, there’s been no other public figures before you with modest skin pigmentation and a huge freaking chip on their shoulder.
What a putz…Obama the media phenomena!
I agree, NYK – my summary is much more substantive.
You’re right, NYC. I forgot to add three or four refrains of “Hope and change”. Don’t know how I missed that.
I’d like to counter his criticism of the surge, but Barack Obama purges Web site critique of surge in Iraq
Holy 1984, Batman! So are folks supposed to counter his “flips” or his “flops”?
“I don’t rebut what’s on the Social Labor Party’s website or the National Socialist’s site, either”
The common denominator is absurdity.
Naw, that would take just the one trip to HopeNChange Central. You get an uber-egomanicial ChangeFuhrer and Marxism in one shot. You do realize The One sought and received the endorsement of a Marxist 3rd Party – correct?
Again, you really have to get into the real world arena and not rely on the day-to-day position changes on a self-obsessed politican’s website.
Some were. Some grew up very poor. All were from societies that were socially economically and politically backwards.
This is a fair point. It is true that in many of these countries the religion and government are intertwined. But the places where Islam rules these were tribal societies long before Islam. But I will admit there is a chicken/egg issue with my argument here.
I would be curious to see that survey. I would also be curious to see what percentage were immigrants to the UK and which were born there and how those percentages may differ.
But overall, thank you for your post and making many salient points for me to consider, in a somewhat civil manner.

Have a nice weekend. Good posts as usual. I tried to address you on the Congressional Apology thread, but some loser keeps deleting my posts.
“you flip-flopped from “The Old Testament contains several calls” to “plenty of passages”. It’s easy to make such mistakes when one relies on one’s behind for facts.”
Offering the “what is is” defense, eh? Well, if you can only get by using ambiguity and avoidance, I understand. But in case you’d like to do a bit of self-enlightenement there are these things called “dictionaries”, some are even online.
You’re the self-proclaimed expert. When you make bizarre coverall relativistic claims and then tap dance when called on it then, as I said, you’re just pulling it out of the backside.
Already answered – read and memorize it:
“Violent ideologies attract violent, sick people.”
jsr — To start, I’m sorry if I haven’t responded in the past. Honestly. And I hope I didn’t seem rude.
I guess looking at your questions, I specifically think of a best friend of mine that works in fashion. Because it’s such a disposable industry. They already have experts and expOrts (not a typo) coming in (waaaay before Obama appeared), and they’re all in favor of Obama’s business recommendations. Honestly — don’t you think that there are ways to improve the industries we know?
mistress, it’s always lovely to see you here. Have a good night!
Yeah, MsJustice, but I’m also an ornery curmudgeon now and then! I have my fun and can mock with the best(worst?) of ‘em. But it’s never anything personal. I don’t believe the other person is evil, just wrong.
Here is great article that Michelle linked to on “buzzworthy.” It shows the utter lack of historical knowledge that even a middle school student should have. . .but Obama doesn’t when he complains about all the “presidents” on dollars who have had “decades” of Washington experience.
http://biglizards.net/blog/archives/2008/07/obama_dont_know.html
Barack Hussein Obama has the lack of knowledge of American history that you would expect any foreigner to have. A foreigner should not be the president of America.
I dunno, MsJ, it could be the comment submit mechanism sometimes just “hiccups”. I know once today I did everything right, the comment wasn’t nasty or anything, hit the “submit” button and the comment didn’t show up.
But if you’re seeing your comment posted then deleted, it could be something else at play. At any rate, before I hit submit I always copy and paste my comment into Notepad since I’ve seen a few get eaten up in transit. It’s a habit I picked up a long time ago since internet forums/boards sometimes just eat posts -comments.
Mistress Justice doesn’t notice the irony in her statement below:
That statement with its ad hominum attack seems pretty “angry” and “hostile.” Projection?
When you say violent ideologies attract violent sick people are you implying that people of Middle Eastern descent are inherently violent and sick?
I don’t think that is what you mean, but I am a bit confused as to what that is supposed to mean.
And another question that maybe really gets to the fundamental discord we seem to have on this issue:
Do you believe that the term “radical Islam” is redundant?
Gabe, sometimes you (meaning, generally, “you” — not “you” personally) can have real, meaningful, interesting, thoughtful debates. But there are certainly people here that resort solely to junior-high antics. And I’m not saying that we all haven’t participated, but it’s hard not to respond in kind when someone is being incredibly rude. But it’s only the liberals that get called out for being uncouth.
Yes, and most serious businesses are always on the lookout for improvements. Larger companies may even devote staff to just the task of keeping up with developments. Government agencies will never be able to keep up and will always rely on industry to keep them informed instead of visa-versa. When I was in college the University had some program and offices devoted to advising local industries. It always got a favorable write-up in the student newspaper and plenty of publicity but I can tell you first hand the program was an utter failure and never helped anybody. They were a cure in search of a sick person. I forsee the same with Obama’s plan, but on a much larger scale with the danger of morphing into another huge regulatory beast.
I don’t know much about it (being a conservative), except that fashion changes overnight, or at the whim of some major designers. Textile production is mosly moving oversees due to labor costs, not technology. What kind of help do your friends think the government can offer? Obama is very vague in his proposal and I doubt your friends have any specifics in mind.
The reality is we already have a system in place whereby Universities retain experts and train students to go out and run businesses more effectively. Idealy, these expert (professors) have many years of industry experience and keep abreast of developments to pass on to their students. After they graduate, they need to keep up themselves with continuing ed, on-the job learning and professional organizations. I don’t see another government agency improving on this.
One of my closest and oldest friends is Pakistani-American. The idea that she is just waiting to somehow crush America, starting in St. Louis (where she’s from) is…just absurd to me.
No, it wouldn’t apply to a regional-ethic group. Obviously, Islam is found throughout the world.
How you can take the ideologies statement is to apply to any group. Liberalism attract liberals. Conservatism attracts conservatives.
About “radical Islam” – I don’t consider it redudant because it has no real definition to my mind.
It’s somewhat like the abuse of the word “fundamentalist” when it’s applied to Islam. For Christianity the term has specific meaning – this is good, concise definition from:
“Creation Wiki”
“In their attempt to fight modernism and liberal critics, those who wrote and accepted the Fundamentals pamphlets tried to define the most essential doctrines that a true Christian would believe. The northern Presbyterian Church in 1910 came up with five essential beliefs: [5]
The inerrancy of Scripture
Christ’s Virgin Birth
The substitutionary Atonement of Christ
Christ’s bodily Resurrection
The historicity of Christ’s miracles.
Other versions put the deity of Christ in place of the Virgin Birth, or Christ’s Second Coming in place of the miracles.”
I would say there is what could be called “Pure Islam” – derived from Mohammed, the Koran and the Hadith. I would also say Osama Bin Laden is a practitioner of it.
I think where you’re not catching the essential difference in Islam/Old Testament is in not noting that the OT is a chronicle of ancient history. You will find examples of where the Israelites were commanded by God to destroy an enemy tribe. Once done, it was history. The enemy was no more.
However, in Islam, there is no sense of “that was then, this is now” – the Koran is open-ended in it’s commands to kill unbelievers. There is no “The End”.
Therein lies the defining and crucial difference. While no one can correctly justify murder by citing a bible passage about a military battle some 3000 years ago, murder can easily be justified by any one person citing the Koran and/or the very basics of Islam.
Exactly. It was just plain stupid. Playing the race card was simply a feeble and fairly insulting attempt to insulate himself from criticism by insinuating that his critics are racists or bigots.
Dare I say the “audacity of a dope?”
The irony is that everyone, at least on the conservative side, is walking on eggshells to do anything but attack him on a racial basis. It is the media that keeps injecting race into the argument (purposely?) by constantly repeating the “first black president” phrase and insinuating that blacks of both parties have to vote for him because he is black. Considering that half of his heritage is caucasian, it would make as much sense to say that whites have to vote for him because he is half white. Just plain dumb, and kind of racist itself. Imagine if the media said that whites will vote for McCain because he is white. Can you say uproar?
As far as I am concerned, race and insinuations of racism just get in the way of legitimate criticisms of Obama. You don’t need racial attacks to criticize him if you are so inclined.
Not 1/10 as much as he will if he’s NOT elected.
Imagine Detroit’s infamous “Hell Night” magnified by ten, all across urban America.
Am I saying black America will rise up if the Black Redeemer is rejected by Whitey?
You bet I am.
Hopium addicts do crazy things when anyone interferes with satisying their Jones.
You do remember Obama did threaten “quiet riots” in a race-filled diatribe just last year?
Obama: Bush Ignoring Blacks’ “Quiet Riot”
I agree with 176…Bob Cobb would be a funny name. Barack Hussein Obama is downright sinister. It’s a cross between Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden, and it’s an insult to this country. Of course that’s not his fault, but he’s the one that keeps bringing it up. If the GOP nominated someone named Rudolf Hitler Caligula, I think it might be an issue. Oh wait, no it wouldn’t. He would have either changed it long ago or stayed away from politics.
Then I guess that the “great uniter” would be anything but. One has to question his motives and methods after a 20 year immersion in the Trinity Church of Racism.
If “black America” riots in the streets over perceived racism in an election (something that Obama is trying to gin up with his “I don’t look like the presidents on our currency” speech.
It will set back the status of blacks in this country and virtually guarantee that there will not be another black presidential candidate in our lifetimes.

When he said I look different he meant his,… uhhh err mmmm NOSE!!! yeah thats right, his nose. Clearly he meant that. Right?
/whiney democratic party excuse naker mode off.
BTW Obama may have peaked 3 months too early.
Even that professor from Temple University that support Barack Obama acknowledged on Fox & Friends this morning that Barack Obama was, obviously, making reference to his being black, when he talked about not looking “like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

So what? Why is the man afraid of his own name? That is not why I would or would not vote for the guy.
Obama bin Lyin’
What’s with Davis saying, “..and we’ve withered under the attacks of the Obama campaign on a daily basis.” ?? Like ‘dried up’? wasted? or that the Obama attacks anihilated McCain?
Odd choice of words…, ‘weathered’ would have made sense.
A bit off topic but…
I’ve not seen much on the true story of the prayer note written by Obama that was filched from the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Initially there was outrage that someone committed such a dastardly deed. And the MSM went bonkers when a sister newspaper, Ma’ariv, had the audacity to print the contents of the prayer note.
What’s not been mentioned by many -even Foxnews- is the following:
A Ma’ariv spokeman admitted that Ma’ariv had coordinated its publication with the Obama campaign — even BEFORE Obama had put it in the Wall.
“Obama’s note was published in Maariv and other international publications following his authorization to make the content of the note public. Obama submitted a copy of the note to media outlets when he left his hotel in Jerusalem. Moreover, since he is not Jewish, there is no violation of privacy as there would be for a Jewish person who places a note in the wall.”
Just goes to prove that Obama will do or say anything to get elected – even in attempting to appear “Christian”.
*I like that one.
With regard to the above comments on Obama and the prayer note, I’ve just learned and it should be noted that there are efforts underway to ascertain whether the statement from Ma’ariv is accurate or an attempt to deflect criticism about it’s decision to publish the prayer note.
Based on iamsaved’s post, 30, we might need to revamp that a little bit…
Obama bin Connivin’
Okay. Now, the “revamp” may be on hold.
Ah, nice.
Did you also deliver a speech in San Francisco regarding those who cling to guns & religion?
I think Obama’s prayer probably went more like: Dear Allah, can you run down the hall and get my golden club. These mere mortals are losing respect for my tarnished halo and I am not in a forgiving mood. I am looking forward to the day that the jews rebuild their temple here so I can walk in and claim what is rightfully mine.
Your homeslice,
Barry
Israel Insider has some thoughts on Obama’s prayer note at the Wailing Wall..
Thanks, but I can’t take credit for it… I saw it on a bumper sticker this morning on my drive in. I wish I were clever enough to have come up with it on my own.
At any rate, I knew it would be a hit!
