Pretty late with the response, but I just wanted to advise that some of us should stop breathing for the sake of the planet. If they do so, I’ll be able to think a little better.

The irony in your statement is that global warming causes earthquakes, or so I’ve read. Google it. Better yet, don’t bother, because we all know it’s true. It’s just, ehh…common…sense…isn’t it?

Now with Obama we have a real danger of a theocracy taking over the US as he falters with the defense of the country thing. I am hoping that the Republicans do not give in to the Evangelicals invading my person and home with their attempts at micromanaging my life. If they do – I give up. Until then I hold back the mild revulsion and vote for McCain come November.

(I’ve had an evangelical Christian mess up my life once already. That is more than enough.)

Garbage collectors would inspect San Francisco residents’ trash to make sure pizza crusts aren’t mixed in with chip bags or wine bottles under a proposal by Mayor Gavin Newsom.

leave a couple of cold pops sitting on top of the garbage pails when the guys come by to pick it all up..

doubt they would care if about pizza crust and wine bottles then..

if not sure pop would work, up the ante with a cold beer or two..

but the fines on recycling?

if anything, that would force more people to throw things away en mass..

And if residents or businesses don’t separate the coffee grounds from the newspapers, they would face fines of up to $1,000 and eventually could have their garbage service stopped.

But surely they have an exemption for poor illegal aliens, because a $1,000 fine for coffee grinds would be…, well, grinding the face of the poor.

If they stop garbage service, how does that save the earth or teach kids to recycle? Before long, the entire city of San Francisco would become a garbage heap. Wait, how long has this rule been in affect?

As a US city, they can be as free as they want; but freedom from Dumpster Diving Big Brother (DDBB) isn’t a right, it’s a privilege, and San Franciscans no longer have the privelege. I don’t need to point out who would make a good DDBB employee, do I? (See comment #25 for a hint.)
