Books that are walloping Nancy Pelosi on Amazon.com
For your amusement, here are five books I picked at random that are spanking Nancy Pelosi’s book on Amazon.com as of 12:01am August 5, 2008. The last one is so fitting:
Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, “Know Your Power:” 782.
Tori Spelling, sTORI Telling: 13.
David Freddoso, The Case Against Barack Obama: 14.
Adobe Photoshop Cs3 Classroom in a Book: 241.
The Anatomy Coloring Book: 299.
Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done: 446.

One more. Tee-hee:
When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need to Survive When Disaster Strikes: 679.

From commenter Ent, details about the review deletions at Amazon. I’ve heard about this from several readers:
The interesting side of this story is how Amazon has been deleting hundreds of negative reviews of the book. I saw the 1-star rating count at 170-something a few days ago. I hear it went over 200. Now there are 28. As people re-post their reviews, they get deleted again. No telling how many distinct negative reviews there have actually been since they’re apparently being actively deleted as they come in.
Needless to say, Amazon doesn’t provide this service for books by conservative authors.
There are some complaints in the discussion forum associated with the book.

No one ever cared what she had to say. I think I hate her more than I hate Hillary. Is that possible?
She thinks we are stupid.!
Wow. That must be one really disappointed ghost writer.

The Speaker’s job…making incoherency incoherent.
A job well done Muh..muh..muh..muh..Madam Speaker!! (Apologies to Porky!)
Can a Speaker of the House be effective when they are this scatter-brained? What an embarassment!
The things coming out of this woman’s mouth, and her facial expressions, are truly bizarre.
Please keep her front and center.
Alas … San Fran Nan goes on a book tour touting a book that is so lousy it could only be written by a loser like Madame Botox …
Hey DL,
Fess up, you bought a copy! LOL
Where is all the uproar about whatever advance she received on this book? Newt was pilloried in the press for the advance on his book. The funny thing is that people actually bought Newt’s book.
If the Democrats hold the House (I hope not), I bet there is a challenge to her from the more moderate Dems. If not, 2010 may be a repeat of 1994.
Wait, there’s HOPE for America — poor people will soon be able to revel in the wisdom of Our Blessed Grandmother Superior for $1.99 at Books-A-Million.
And if that’s too much trouble, maybe ACORN could give away a copy with every voter registration. Fruto Boy Crispila will not be denied!
Nancy: “I know my power…hey, wait! Have you seen my power. I had it when I came in here…”
Don’t forget the Bible, Ecclesiastes 7:15, KJV:
…in this case, a woman…
At risk of stating the obvious, I meant to associate Ms. Pelosi with the “wicked” clause (not the “righteous” …shudder).
I just went to Amazon’s site, I only saw negative reviews???
I don’t see where this info is coming from.
PS- is this how knee jerk reactions start, from reading these stories, not checking for yourself and taking the blogger at his/her word?
Evil and Stupid are Bad. Pelosi covers both well. She is a dolt.
Here is the screenshot of the number of reviews posted before the Amazon.com purge:

Capiche?
Talk about knee-jerk.
Guess I can’t leave any kind of review for the book since I’m not desperate enough to read anything she has to say. I get enough of her snooty and snotty words from the MSM.
My hope is that level heads will prevail and she will be stripped of her KNOW IT ALL POWER.
This is bigger than just ideological censorship. Amazon is deleting negative reviews and altering its star-meter rating system to influence purchases. Beyond a glaring lack of ethics and impartiality, isn’t this in some way a violation of the law? I mean they are actively deceiving their customers to enhance purchases.
What are you talking about?! Her book is number 74! No wait – “Skinny Bitch” is by Kim Barnouin, sorry, my bad…
My knees haven’t jerked in years. LOL
Pelosi Galore is a failure. Utter. Absolute. The botox has leached into the frontal lobes.
Read some of the reviews. When someone who is trying to like the book doesn’t that says a great deal. This will end up as shelf filler on extreme liberal’s bookshelves
there were actually 248 reviews when i last checked. ChazAZ’s review was either entirely removed, or bumped down. i would say that all of the 5 star reviews had been saved, but i see at least one 5 star review that’s gone (they were rare to begin with). but, Amazon got rid of enough to bump Nancy’s toilet paper rag up to 2 stars.
This little book review manipulation has been going on at Amazon for awhile, it seems. Glenn Reynolds got lots of foaming-at-the-mouth denouncements from reviewers who said they did not need to read his “right wing crap” to know he’s a warmongering fascist. (He’s a libertarian!)
Did you hang on to any reviews of your books there, Michelle? Do you remember good reviews disappearing, while the rage-enhanced lefties were allowed to pile up, skewing your overall rating? I remember well how YouTube screwed over anything anti-jihad on their servers.
That’s basically what advertising is. Just like the poster for a new Rob Schneider movie isn’t going to tout the legion of reviewers who say it sucks, Amazon is going to censor the reviews of things it wants to sell.
I’m not saying it’s nice or ethical, mind you. And it seems pretty clear they’re doing it here for idealogical reasons rather than a pure profit motive. I’m just saying it doesn’t even come close to being illegal… nor should it, really.
Well, the botox bimbo sales are way ahead of mine, but how many books have actually been sold – to someone other than libraries? And I think we can safely say that the libraries in Frisco have likely filled the shelves.
And why isn’t her book tour coming to Texas or Oklahoma? Or Kansas or Mississippi? Michelle will be welcome in any of those states.
One of my recent purchases!
One more thing…does anyone find it analogous that people who buy her book are also likely to buy “Beetle the Bard”? Some folks just love fantasy, I guess.
Prospective buyers often rely on those reviews as a true and reliable reflection of the product worth, and make a buying decision based on that – I know I do, and heavily. Unless Amazon clearly state that negative reviews will be removed and review rating may not reflect true opinion, then they are intentionally misleading the public, and as such could be sued for every item they ever sold, as it now casts all ratings into doubt and means items were sold under manipulated expectations.
Massage the rating or not, something Amazon apparently can’t hide is the way it’s dropping like a brick in their sales ranking. Overnight it went from #782 to #875.
I emailed her and said if she’d vote to drill, maybe she’d sell more books. Do you think she’ll take my advice?
She’s special.
Think we could “write” a book while pretending to be on the job?
I doubt it.
They need to have a book burning.
That should get her attention.
The public libraries in my “blue” county ordered 13 copies; less than half have holds on them. Look up your county on your Internets.
soap #8 …
right … sure thing … uh huh … ROFLMAO …
good one … but wrong … hadn’t checked back to see your comment until this morning …
Actually I have never bought anything on Amazon … I buy all my books in person … usually at B.Dalton or Barnes & Noble … and occasionally at an airport news stand …
So tell me soap … how long did it take you to get sick while reading your copy when it arrived? …
… he he he …

Does that mean Casper the Friendly Ghost comic books are outselling it?
Cut the Pelosi some slack! She is going to save the planet. I mean, we got lucky that this rock has survived the 2 billion years it has without her. We have GOT to save the planet; it only has about 2 billion years or so left!
Of course, humans will be extinct… and there will be new plants and animals, but hey, we should suffer now! Nancy knows best.
In all fairness, they are being deleted because they know that the reviews are fake. How can reviews of the book outnumber copies sold?
As Al Gore might say: “This is a very succesful book. The debate is over.”
It will be on the $1.00 book table in no time.
I was thinking the same thing. It will be in dollar stores soon.
I will buy my copy then and mail it to DL. The pages may be a little sticky from puke.
SOAP …
Knew I could count on my friends to look out for my intellectual needs …
This is comedy at its best. This woman goes screaming out the congressional door in order to promote a book about her “power” while simultaneously incapable of using this “power” to promote any solutions to our energy crisis. I guess her “power” is the power to just say f**k Off to the American people
IT”S ALL ABOUT ME…by PELOSI
Here she comes to save the planet
San Fran Nan is the one who can
She has the power and she wrote a book
Saying Listen to me and take a look
I am the champion of diversity
For anyone who thinks like me
Off Shore drilling for more oil
Not my view will you spoil
More oil if drilled it will not help
Let’s just use what we saved for a rainy day
For we must always do as I say
Got to leave now on my jumbo jet
To sign my book for the fan I met
For those who more drilling is an issue
My book is being printed on toilet tissue
When because of me you can’t afford TP
Just wipe your butt with page 33
And think of me
Me, me, me, me, me………….
Your Queen and Savior,
Fancy Nancy
What I never understood was why anyone would buy a book they KNOW is propoganda. This goes for all the liberal books in the last 8 years and the “documentaries” produced by micheal moore wannabes.
Maybe the reviewers just picked the book up and read it, (OK some of it), in the bookstore so they didn’t need to buy it?
Milwaukee Mike and BOB …
I would submit that the numbers shown on the Amazon website probably only reflect the book sales from there … I am sure some of the hardcore libs are buying the book at book stores … I know it was prominently displayed at some airport news stands and kiosks I passed yesterday while traveling …
giggle giggle
OUCH!
Amazon deleting 200+ one star reviews and censoring people both there and on the forum discussing the censorship? Say it isn’t so!
Well, not that I ever bought anything from Amazon anyhow but that just reinforced the political bias that company has. In this day and age of technology did they honestly expect their little censorship party and deleted reviews would go undetected and unreported?
Maybe she’s too busy saving the planet to promote her book properly. (Take that with however much snark you want.)
A leftwing propoganda machine disguised as a news media. Large companies like Amazon deleting negative reviews of a liberal wack job’s book.
Orwell was a genius.
I figure they were deleted because of Rules of Use – no profanity. I have trouble even thinking of THAT WOMAN without bad words popping up in my head.
Heh. But the good news for ConsRUs is he’s now able to hit all the high notes in our national anthem with no problem.
Nancy’s dilemme as a writer-wannabe made me think about a revised version of a 70s slogan: “What if she wrote a book and nobody cared?”.
What I want to know, lgm, is how is your book doing?
School isn’t in session you have plenty of time to promote it. Inquiring minds want to know!
Then there was the Wicked Witch of San Francisco in the Wizard of OZ. A house fell on her. San Fran Nan does bring to mind the Third Beast in Daniel 7 v6. She also reminds me of a deer in the headlights, although that may be wishful thinkng..
Yes she is, I saw Her Exalted Speakership out front this morning checking my tire pressure. She was using a John McCain Tire Gauge.

Conservative authors can sell books no matter how many bad reviews there are, since the reviews were most likly written by leftywackos who didn’t read the books. Bad reviews for liberal authors mean that the books is most likely terrible, not worth reading and a waste of the publishers’ money.
I bought Obama Nation today and Pelosi’s book was nowhere in sight at B&N.
Nancy won’t have to worry about having enough books to sign. Her book wouldn’t make a good door stop!
Well…she’s not doing that bad. “Proud To Be A Liberal” by Robert Lasner is ranked #904,696. Your kids’ drawings hanging on the refrigerator door could sell better than that literary classic.
Howls of derisive laughter! How do you save the planet flying around in private jets and driving in giant SUVs to promote a book nobody wants to buy?
I don’t see a single upside for the planet in anything she is doing. Heck, her body alone is a biohazard with all that botulinum toxin in her!
Amazon frequently lets people post what I call basher reviews, “reviews” posted by trolls who simply hate the author or whatever and most likely had never cracked the book or seen the movie or whatever. Frankly, I hate basher reviews. It’s meant to distort whether something is any good or not and yes, there are things that I loved and enjoyed (besides conservative books) that have been “victimized” by these trolls.
That said, if Amazon is going to delete troll reviews for San Fran Nan, it should also delete them for Ann Coulter or Bill O’Reilly or anyone else right of center.
ROFL, you made a funny
awesome
And here I thought lgm was like the Strawman in the Wizard of OZ—he finally got a brain.

“The Pet Goat” is ranked at 156,255 as of this morning.
Nice.
This woman is an absolute failure, just like her book. She’s a bizarre example of how even feminism has its limits.
I didn’t even know she could connect words into a sentence. She’s pretty much incoherent when she gives interviews. What’s with her facial expressions and her gesticulations?
San Fran Nan had the audacity to say that Pres. Bush was a “failure” too. Lady, look in the mirror. Your face should be next to the definition of failure.
Are there any pics of San Fran Nan from when she was a younger woman?
It would be great to have a bikini shot of her.
Well sort of great.
A word about Amazon and their reviews and deleting reviews.
I am a top 100 reviewer on the site, so I have a little bit of experience with them. I have never had a review deleted because it was negative. However, when I write a negative review, I make sure I stick to facts and leave emotion and name calling out of it. They will delete (or not even post) reviews they feel are an attack on the author and not about the product being reviewed.
They also have that nice little “Report this” button. If enough people click on it, the review disappears. Amazon actually doesn’t even look at the review to see if it should be taken down or not.
Yes, that leads to huge abuses of the system. You want to see the worst? Do a google search for “Reba Belle and Deborah MacGillivray.”
And the rants pretending to be reviews on political books are horrid. On both sides of the aisle. When I look at review on one of those topics, I hit the “Report this” button quite often.
My guess is the liberals, who leave the negative, personal attack “reviews” on conservative books are the same people who hit the “report this” button when we do the same to the liberal books.
To be perfectly honest, some of the reviews I saw when I looked at the book weren’t reviews of the book. They were funny. But they were attacks on Pelosi and had little if anything to do with the book. I know this will make me unpopular around here, but I support Amazon taking those reviews down.
If you want to leave a negative review, at least have the decency to talk about what you are actually reviewing and not just show off for your friends.
Why is Pelosi wasting her time on a message to America’s daughters when she knows they will not become productive adults for another 5 to 10 years. Isn’t that the reason she gave for not investing in more oil drilling, because it would be 5 to 10 years before a new oil well could become productive? Then why waste your time investing in our youth?
I only want to know one thing! How is Pelousi’s book doing against a brand new missive just released called Curious George gets electricuted while playing with a poorly grounded electrical sex toy!
#1504 on Amazon this morning !!!
hahaha
and dropping like a brick!!
Amazon.com Sales Rank: #1,705 in Books
In Albuquerque 2/19 copies are on hold.
