Hot Air TV: Cornering William “Cold Cash” Jefferson

Intrepid Jason Mattera is back with another Hot Air/Young America’s Foundation joint production from Capitol Hill.

He asked Democrat Rep. William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, the accused freezer cash-stashing subject of a 16-count criminal indictment whose public corruption trial is scheduled for Dec. 2, for some handy storage advice and an autograph last week.

Rep. Jefferson refused to provide either.

Jason’s first question: “”I was wondering if you could give me some advice? In your opinion what is the best way to stuff $90,000 in a freezer: a Hefty or a Ziploc bag?”

Click for the answer, er, non-answer and a few menacing-looking gestures from Rep. Jefferson that are ripe fodder for all those tee-vee body language experts.

Jason, be careful out there!

This little book review manipulation has been going on at Amazon for awhile, it seems. Glenn Reynolds got lots of foaming-at-the-mouth denouncements from reviewers who said they did not need to read his “right wing crap” to know he’s a warmongering fascist. (He’s a libertarian!)

Did you hang on to any reviews of your books there, Michelle? Do you remember good reviews disappearing, while the rage-enhanced lefties were allowed to pile up, skewing your overall rating? I remember well how YouTube screwed over anything anti-jihad on their servers.

Well, we better hurry up and persuade the Justice Dept. to look at Dodd’s mortgage shenanigans (did you know that the Republican governor of CT went to jail for getting a hot tub from a contractor, but Dodd is not being held accountable for special deals on a mortgage? Odd, that!)

And has the statute of limitations run out on leaving a girl to die in a sinking Oldsmobile while you sober up and get in touch with your attorneys to come up with a plausible story to cover your acts?

Michael Dukakis, Democrat presidential contender, actually tried to create fake Social Security numbers for illegal aliens in Massachusetts. He said it was an “oversight.” Has he been prosecuted?

Has tiny Tommy Daschle been prosecuted for illegally getting votes in Indian reservations in ND?

Has Jamie Gorelick been held responsible for her role in 9/11, in her case, a crime of ineptitude?

Those are just the ones I can think of, but they exemplify the Democrat model of perpetuating the career and protecting the reputation of the Democrat (criminal).

…the Republican governor of CT went to jail for getting a hot tub from a contractor, but Dodd is not being held accountable for special deals on a mortgage? Odd, that!

Dodd isn’t the only corruptocrat in CT. Check out the bio on Hartford Mayor Eddie Pérez, Democrat.

The dude is an ex-leader of a criminal, Latino organization called “The Ghetto Brothers, and has been up to his eyeballs in corruption ever since. Just a few highlights:

-Perez is currently under investigation by a CT State grand jury for alleged corruption. He received a new bathroom and kitchen in his home at the expense of contractor Carlos Costa, who has done millions of dollars of business with the city of Hartford, but whom was recently declared an unfit contractor by a city auditor.

-The grand jury is also investigating Perez’s influence on deals for the purchase of property in downtown, and for no-bid contracts for parking lot management awarded to city political boss Abraham L. Giles.

-In 1999, Perez became the President of the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance, an organization sponsored by Trinity College and Hartford Hospital. The organization ultimately absorbed nearly a quarter of Trinity’s endowment and over a hundred-million dollars from the Hospital in an urban renewal programme that has been described as an “absolute failure” by the Hartford Courant.

-Perez was arrested in the late 1970s as an accessory on various charges stemming from bribery to murder.

Again, this corrupt, Democrat thug is the Mayor of Hartford, CT.

Not only that, but Democrat, CT Atty General Richard Blumenthal (Spitzer-lite) actually campaigned for “Fast Eddie” while Perez was being investigated for corruption.

And don’t even get me started on Bridgeport, CT. The Dems in this state are just as corrupt as the Dems in every other state, believe me.

either you’re making the numbers up, or choosing only to count the ones you like.

Remember the links i’ve provided before? The one with the top 10 scandals? You didnt stop to notice that NINE out of TEN were Democrats? Why not? Because that number…the facts…dont work into how you see things. Willful blindness to the facts of a matter make your argument weak and unsustainable.

You still didnt call out Jefferson on his corruption. Waiting for that.

To be blunt, I don’t care WHO is corrupt. Corruption in all its forms should be dealt with and eliminated, and the people responsible removed. Its just that people like me can’t understand (outside of the relativism angle) why it is you, rusty, and others are quick to point out the faults of others, but not to point out the mistakes of your own. Kind of like the saying about removing the mote from your own eye before taking the splinter from your neighbors…

To honest people, corruption isnt a -partisan- issue. It’s an ethics issue. I dont care what party line you tow, if you’re corrupt, you should be gone. Its that simple.

…So you’ll continue to refine the parameters until (as abstractmind has pointed out) it fits your agenda. Ultimately what difference does it make? Why should the relativity matter when discussing one Representative Jefferson? Does the failings of others exonerate Rep. Jefferson based on your score system?

How about sticking to the topic? Do you have any thoughts on Rep. Jefferson, Mr. Goodman?

Rusty and I keep saying Republicans are worse than Democrats in the sleaze department. This indeed is an argument to vote Democratic,

But we’re not discussing whether or not to vote Republican here. We are wondering when your party might take a moment to hold Rep. Jefferson accountable for his actions. Ignoring the sleazy democrats (your words) in your party and pointing fingers at all the naughty republicans is not taking responsibility for him. I would expect this type of behavior from toddlers, not leaders of our nation.

even if it doesn’t defend sleazy Democrats.

I suppose this is as close as we will get as to your opinion of Jefferson?

Except that Stuttering John would ask people like Hall of Fame Slugger, WW II and Korean War hero Ted Williams, “Did you ever break wind in the catcher’s face when you were at bat,” and this kid, Jason Mattera, is holding an outright Democrat thief accountable for hiding $90,000.00 in bribe money in his Congressional office freezer from federal authorities.

It’s deceptive. He also elicited a reaction to his manner of approach, not to the subject at hand. All he did was embarrass the guy.

Go in the front door. Make the appointment with Jefferson. Ask him the hard questions straight out. If he won’t answer, report that.
