Intrepid Jason Mattera is back with another Hot Air/Young America’s Foundation joint production from Capitol Hill.

He asked Democrat Rep. William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, the accused freezer cash-stashing subject of a 16-count criminal indictment whose public corruption trial is scheduled for Dec. 2, for some handy storage advice and an autograph last week.

Rep. Jefferson refused to provide either.

Jason’s first question: “”I was wondering if you could give me some advice? In your opinion what is the best way to stuff $90,000 in a freezer: a Hefty or a Ziploc bag?”

Click for the answer, er, non-answer and a few menacing-looking gestures from Rep. Jefferson that are ripe fodder for all those tee-vee body language experts.

Jason, be careful out there!

Finally able to watch this at the house and my wife and I couldn’t believe the gumballs on Jason asking this fine example of a lying crapweasel the question on so many of our minds. Thanks for the great laugh and I hope Jason believes in the rule all good fighter pilots live by, “always check your six.”

BTW, Michael Moore made millions and won an oscar doing interviews exactly like Jason’s.

My apologies to Jason. Of course his interviews are not exactly like Moore’s. Moore sometimes ambushes completely innocent people; Jason restricts himself to confronting those who deserve to be confronted — complete crapweasels like Kennedy, Murtha, and Jefferson. I stand corrected.

If Jefferson is indicted, the score will be 3 to 8. That’s three Democrats to 8 Republican Congressmen and Senators indicted since Nixon.

Heck, leaving the numbers game out of it altogether, hey, lgm: HE’S ALREADY UNDER INDICTMENT AND HE’S GOING TO TRIAL.
    Silly boy.

While I don’t really care for the way he conducted the interview (forget about the phony compliment, Jason, just get to the issue!), I do appreciate Jason stepping up to mock the idiocy of this man. Anyone who puts a $90K bribe in a freezer deserves to be mocked, it’s the kind of thing you expect to see in a 3 Stooges rerun.

In the good old days, crooks like this were publicly humiliated in far worse ways, such as the stocks or public flogging. He got off easy.

I’m sure many are tempted to say, “Oooooh, he showed him…” Really though, what does this sort of thing accomplish? This is on the same level as one boy saying to another, “Ha Ha, Mom caught you stealing cookies from the cookie jar.”

Here’s a list if you like. It goes back to 1798, but you can stop at the point where Nixon resigned:

    Uh, James Traficant, R-OH?

Last I knew, Mr. Beam Me Up Scotty was a ‘Crat.

I guess that’s one way to lower the numbers of convicted surrendercrats, claim they’re Republican.

I just noticed Traficant is actually on the list twice…the first listed as a Democrat.

You are correct, sir. James was once acquited as a Dem in the 1980s, and once convicted as a Dem in 2002.

He ran again as independent in 2002 while in prison, but lost.

Arguably, he had the worst toupee ever worn on a human head.

True conservatives understand that everyone in government is highly susceptible to corruption, and the only cure is to have a lot less government. Does it really make sense to entrust a third of the national GDP to these people? Not to mention our entire healthcare system.
