Now if the republicans had any media savvy, they would invite Paris to brief them on her energy plan. Miss Hilton goes to Washington would ramp up the pressure on Nancy a thousand fold.

Probably not a chance in heck, but I sure wish John would show up to help the R’s and give his view on drilling. Thanks R’s for keeping this up.

Perhaps, when the House floor has a good ole clean flush of all the corruption from the most ethical Congress ever, then I’ll take a look see. ;-)

Is this revolt going to accomplish anything? Without the democrats there to do any actual voting on a bill I am not sure that this is going anywhere. There isn’t anyone here (where I work) talking around the water cooler about it. Drudge doesn’t even have a link any longer.

I think the “news” today is Britney is going to be a lesbian killer, Paris is hot (not France), and McCain is debating himself. I don’t think that the republicans that are there, are going to stay the entire 5 weeks that congress is on vacation. This is probably nothing more than posturing for the upcoming elections. I don’t recall any bills being passed during the 10 years of republican majority that opened up more drilling or built more refineries.

I am sure that the capitol building is beautiful, though; if I want my kids to see a circus I will wait for Barnum and Bailey to hit town.

As someone noted above the article says no mobile phones….yet you say bring your camera phone. Which is it? I hope to make the drive (12 hrs) first of next week to see for myself, as I am strongly in support of them. Sadly my Rep is a Dem and trying to avoid the whole issue. Matter of fact when I called yesterday his ‘phone girl’ told me he was among the sponsors of the non-partisian group of 10! HUH? Those are Senators and he is a Congressman. They really do think we are all idiots!!

Congress passed measures over 10 years ago during Newt’s years that included offshore and ANWR exploration and drilling … Clinton vetoed them …

DesertLover, you wouldn’t happen to know the name or number of the bill would you. I did a cursory search on Google and could not find it. I would like to see what is in the bill. Sometimes bills get vetoed due to the over-indulgence of lawmakers adding their kitchen sinks into the mix and their bridges to nowhere. I don’t doubt you that the bill exist, I just would like to see what was in it. What this country needs is a good line item veto for the POTUS.

Keep in mind this was during the ‘cheap’ oil years. Not easy to justify opening new drilling sites at the time, with the rising power of intransigent environmentalism.

The current sightly lower energy prices may buy the Dems political time but sooner or later we will have to exploit our own petroleum or suffer economic collapse waiting for alternatives. BTW cries for electric cars from Mr. Obama’s econ advisor and others ignore what would supply the energy to charge the batteries. The timeline to ramp up alternatives and infrastructure is simply too long to postpone rebuilding our petroleum self-sufficiency.

One might call it Code Black for Pelosi’s black-out & her No Drill policy. We want more black US crude to be pumped, black shale to be turned to oil and more…

They ough to pass out “Code Black” head bands to visitors that say Drill NOW!…

I’d suggest head bands because it apparently takes lots of brain smarts to figure out how to Drill for more oil in the US. At least as much as Energy Czar Paris Hilton has. She could wear her code black garment elsewhere, fine by me — no pictures at 6 on the PRESSSSidential media.

I read an article today that said the plan is to keep at this at least until the Democratic National Convention.

I applaud the Republicans who have been there over the last 5 days. But it seems to be the same representatives every day. Where are the rest of them???
