Los Angeles wants to do what?

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 6, 2008 11:38 AM

The missing word in this story is “illegal.” But only the deaf, dumb, and blind can’t see that L.A.’s latest proposed expansion of illegal alien sanctuary–which would mandate that retailers set aside space for illegal alien day labor centers–is a recipe for disaster.

Ask Sharon Rockefeller.

The scoop from my old newspaper, the LA Daily News:

Companies that open large home-improvement stores in Los Angeles would have to set aside space for day laborers under an ordinance unanimously approved today by a City Council committee.

The proposed ordinance was passed by the Planning and Land Use Management Committee, but must still be approved by the full council.

If passed, the ordinance would require new home improvement stores that are 100,000 square feet or larger, or any building or structure where 250,000 square feet or more of warehouse floor area is added, to set aside space for day laborers seeking employment from customers.

The shelters would have to be easily accessible and equipped with drinking water, bathrooms, tables with seating and trash facilities.

Home-improvement stores would also be required to develop a security plan in consultation with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Bethany Leal with the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Worker Organizing Network, which supports the ordinance, called it an example of “immigration integration.”

“By having public and private entities work together to create facilities used primarily by immigrants, individual residents, as well as the whole city, benefit,” Leal said.

Sambo, you know how they have cops dress up like hookers to do stings to catch the “JohnS”? Well we need some officers dress up like illegal aliens to catch those hiring them. Plaster their faces all over the place when they are caught and the ultimate punishment would be to take away their contracting licenses.

Let’s see how well they like that when the safety of their walled and gated communities are violated  I’d pay good money to see that, another fund raising idea.

Hmm. OK, here’s the plan: build illegal worker holding area on the corner of each parking lot belonging to new Home Depots as required by the city council, then tell the police what time the stores open. At that time each day, the police can arrive (along with ICE) and cart off all the illegals. That’s an excellent plan. Brilliant, in fact.

If I’m the CEO of Home Depot or Lowe’s, the clear targets of this nonsense, instead of opening up more stores, I’d just say “No thank you.” and close all the stores that would be affected by this communist lunacy. If the day laborers want work, they’ll have to come inside to fill out an application or stay off my property.

The problem with government is that most people qualified to lead are too smart to lower themselves to the depths necessary to run for office to effect change. They stay private sector and make money. Thus, you get people in office who couldn’t otherwise compete for skilled jobs – much less wait around at a home improvement store looking for jobs. Then they get all power-trippy and make stupid, asinine laws like this one.

This is part of a longer process. First City Council passed ordances making it legal for “day laborers” to loiter. Then the banned any attempts to hold them responsible for their actions, such as urinating on the walls and sidewalks where they loiter (urinating in public is classified as a sex crime in L.A./CA.) Now they’re forcing the same businesses that have to put up with this behavior to pay for making it comfortable for “day laborers” to hang out on their property all day.
Some of these “day laborers” are aggressive, too. My wife and I were mobbed by more than a half-dozen men when we stopped at a driveway exit to check traffic. They attempted to open the car doors and get in. This wasn’t an assault, just over-zealous men competing with each other to the point they didn’t realize we didn’t want anything to do with them. However, it did create a safety hazard. Especially when they help on the door handles as we pulled away. Yet L.A. says we must accommodate them.

    Jamiel’s Law: Protest Thursday 8/7 From 9:30-10:30 a.m. At Jack Weiss’s Office

Doug McIntyre of KABC 790 just announced that on Thursday, August 7, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., he will lead a protest with the Shaw Family and the Bologna Family at the West Side office of Council Member Jack Weiss, located at 822 S. Robertson Boulevard, Suite 102, 90035.

Doug will broadcast live from the rally.

City Council Member Jack Weiss has refused to send even Council Member Dennis Zine’s watered-down, toothless version of Jamiel’s Law out of his committee to the full City Council for a vote.

We want that vote so Council Members will have to go on the record as officially voting for or against Zine’s proposal.

Doug and his station are flying Danielle Bologna down from San Francisco, and the Shaws will be there, too.

    Let’s show them we care.

You really don’t want illegal alien day laborers on or anywhere near your property, unless you want to take a chance of them getting injured and suing you for everything you’ve got or scoping out your place for burglarizing your house later.

Seeing as they are categorically worthless and seeing that Antonio Villaraigosa is actively working to bring in more Mexicans, folks in LA are going to have their work cut out for them.

You know it. It’s past the tipping point in the city of L.A. and latinos are the overwhelming majority in several of the adjoining suburbs.

Yes, because that’s what we want — more integration.

“By having public and private entities work together to create facilities used primarily by immigrants, individual residents, as well as the whole city, benefit,” Leal said.

So while the headline talks about Home Depot, the main impact is upon all LA
distribution facilities. For sure, whatever they’re warehousing will be available cheaper here…

Unintended and hoped for consequences. These spaces become the 21st century’s Depression Era Hobo Camps and are soon filled with out-of-work foreclosed mortgage debtors.

Thanks for that info, Ugly American. I’ve been learning Journalistic codes. For instance, look at this story. Now we have a “Road Rage” incident in San Pedro. No mention of the shooter that’s in custody as it’s not immediately released. Yet other news sources such as the radio has reported his name. Why is his name being with held? Could it be because the perps were Latino?

Now looking at the posts, we have the victim’s friends chirping in and here’s what they say:

the shooter + i passenger was mexican and the guy on his way to work ups was white and a real nice dude- mellow! the shooters wree also drunk!

And from another friend of his.

The report left out the fact that he was shot in the chin as well. He is a good friend, and did not deserve this!! And yes, the shooter was drunk driving at 6:00AM.

What I’ve learned is if the paper reports that “identity was not immediately released” more than likely they are illegal invaders and gang bangers.

Happens all the time where the press covers up these hate crimes.

It’s called socialism. Government controls property and means of production. If you think government doesnt control property, just try doing something to your property without the local/state/federal government’s permission. It’s just one small step to government ownership of property and production. In a normal world this is called communism.
