Los Angeles wants to do what?
The missing word in this story is “illegal.” But only the deaf, dumb, and blind can’t see that L.A.’s latest proposed expansion of illegal alien sanctuary–which would mandate that retailers set aside space for illegal alien day labor centers–is a recipe for disaster.
The scoop from my old newspaper, the LA Daily News:
Companies that open large home-improvement stores in Los Angeles would have to set aside space for day laborers under an ordinance unanimously approved today by a City Council committee.
The proposed ordinance was passed by the Planning and Land Use Management Committee, but must still be approved by the full council.
If passed, the ordinance would require new home improvement stores that are 100,000 square feet or larger, or any building or structure where 250,000 square feet or more of warehouse floor area is added, to set aside space for day laborers seeking employment from customers.
The shelters would have to be easily accessible and equipped with drinking water, bathrooms, tables with seating and trash facilities.
Home-improvement stores would also be required to develop a security plan in consultation with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Bethany Leal with the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Worker Organizing Network, which supports the ordinance, called it an example of “immigration integration.”
“By having public and private entities work together to create facilities used primarily by immigrants, individual residents, as well as the whole city, benefit,” Leal said.

Yeah, I’d imagine and hope new businesses are fleeing this insanity rather than submitting to illegal alien pandering from our own local governments. Either that or build a 99,000 square foot Home Depot instead of a 100,000 foot one.
Seems like a good place for ICE to hang around. Also sounds like a good question for our presidential candidates to answer. Every townhall, every campaign stop, every state fair. Hammer them until they take a no-BS position. Let us see who we are dealing with.

I live in a small suburb east of San Francisco. A Home Depot opened a few years ago. Today, we are plagued by hundreds of men who loiter on the sidewalk over a four block area, pee in the bushes, whistle at women, and generally make nuisances of themselves. I called Home Depot and complained. They told me they don’t “enforce” immigration law.
I don’t shop at Home Depot. Not ever.

Hmm. OK, here’s the plan: build illegal worker holding area on the corner of each parking lot belonging to new Home Depots as required by the city council, then tell the police what time the stores open. At that time each day, the police can arrive (along with ICE) and cart off all the illegals. That’s an excellent plan. Brilliant, in fact.
In a sane word this would be already be going on.
If I’m the CEO of Home Depot or Lowe’s, the clear targets of this nonsense, instead of opening up more stores, I’d just say “No thank you.” and close all the stores that would be affected by this communist lunacy. If the day laborers want work, they’ll have to come inside to fill out an application or stay off my property.
The problem with government is that most people qualified to lead are too smart to lower themselves to the depths necessary to run for office to effect change. They stay private sector and make money. Thus, you get people in office who couldn’t otherwise compete for skilled jobs – much less wait around at a home improvement store looking for jobs. Then they get all power-trippy and make stupid, asinine laws like this one.
Legal or Illegal, this is government tyranny at work.
This is part of a longer process. First City Council passed ordances making it legal for “day laborers” to loiter. Then the banned any attempts to hold them responsible for their actions, such as urinating on the walls and sidewalks where they loiter (urinating in public is classified as a sex crime in L.A./CA.) Now they’re forcing the same businesses that have to put up with this behavior to pay for making it comfortable for “day laborers” to hang out on their property all day.
Some of these “day laborers” are aggressive,too. My wife and I were mobbed by more than a half-dozen men when we stopped at a driveway exit to check traffic. They attempted to open the car doors and get in. This wasn’t an assault, just over-zealous men competing with each other to the point they didn’t realize we didn’t want anything to do with them. However, it did create a safety hazard. Especially when they help on the door handles as we pulled away. Yet L.A. says we must accommodate them.
Ok – so build your area….
Surround it with 15 foot high solid fencing.
Bathroom facilities consisting of open-air toilets ( no walls )
A garden hose ( drinking water facilities )
Playschool tables & chairs
And on each corner post, security cameras with a direct-to-web feed so that the country can see what the L.A. Government has brought upon the city.

Villaraigosa La Raza is running for his second term as Mayor which has to be rejected. Work together!!! How is it working together when these companies are compelled to do this. How would Ms. Leal like it if her organization had to set up tables, bathrooms and security for people who want to picket her organiztion.
I can’t believe they are not serving meals and providing entertainment…. That is clearly unexceptable! The workers should sue the City for discrimination.
I dont think Home Depot or Lowes advocate this law as the trash that hang out in front of their stores only hurt business.

Here where I live there’s a whole passel of Mexican guys and a few enterprising white homeless guys hanging around near the local Home Depot parking lot. But a few miles away at Lowe’s you don’t see them there. Why? The property management won’t let them hang out.
You won’t find these crowds of guys near an ACE Hardware either. You might pay a little more but nobody hassles you.
Those who call this gov’t tyranny are correct. We continue to allow the gov’t to grow larger and have more power each year.
Even uber liberal Austin Texas (just behind SF in this dept) didn’t go so far to mandate this nonsense. Rather, they decided it would be better to take city tax $ to build and support, not 1 but 2, “day labor sites” in the city. How is that for abuse of power. Take my tax $ and use it to support an invasion and support illegal hiring by unscrupulous business owners. Sigh. Sometimes I feel as if the war is already lost.
Out here the big box home improvement stores are pandering to the Spanish speakers among us with dual signs on their isles. 1. Must have proof of citizenship.
2. Must pay monthly membership fee to cover janitorial services, maintenance, security, damage, insurance, etc.

4. If Catholic, bring your own rosary beads.
5. Must pay 10% finders fee if hired for the day from our premises.
6. Must sign waiver of all legal claims if injured while on premises.

And put a LARGE sign over the area that says “Hire cheap illegal alien day laborers here! Risk going to jail yourself!”
Make the area about 5 feet wide and X feet long, with the longest area along the road. Give them and the sign maximum exposure to everyone driving by.

I wonder how long it will be before these politicians finally obtain their goal of opening up the southern border, much like the Canada/US border used to be, years ago. In fact, rather than that, just save a lot of money and post signs, “Welcome to the U.S. Drive/walk safely.” That is the way we are heading.

No mention of the shooter that’s in custody as it’s not immediately released. Yet other news sources such as the radio has reported his name. Why is his name being with held? Could it be because the perps were Latino?

What I’ve learned is if the paper reports that “identity was not immediately released” more than likely they are illegal invaders and gang bangers.
Happens all the time where the press covers up these hate crimes.
Build an ICE substation next to each one. That way they can round them up with out having to leave the parking lot of their office, and think of the reduction of green house gasses not having to drive to find the illegals.
And we can call this space Manzanar and HEY, it is already there. I drove by it last month. The gymnasiam and one guard tower are still there since WWII ready to go, just a little more set up effort and those illegals have a new home!
