    One point I have to agree with her is her “use it or lose it” policy to make the oil companies drill in the leases they currently own. The only thing wrong with her program is that it doesn’t allow for drilling unhindered by environut lawsuits preventing them from using it.

    If the oil companies can’t use the leases they have because they get injunctions from some liberal judges blocking them from drilling, it does no good to tell them to use it lose it.

    Regardless of how environmentally safe they are, if they spend all of their development funds money on lawyers, they can’t afford to pay drilling crews.

    And that’s where the ten years number comes from. When you take out the threat of lawsuits, the time frame gets substantially reduced .
