5 universal gestures and symbols for Obama supporters

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 8, 2008 01:38 AM

Oh, my. The Obama groupies have come up with their own special sign language to signal their religion to each other. Here is the worshipful new gesture that its creators want to spread across the country (”We want to see it everywhere, but more importantly we want this sign to take the world by storm”) and at the Democrat convention with the goal of presenting a “crowd of 75,000 people at Obama’s nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country, a renewed hope, and acceptance of responsibility for our future” (via US News and HA Headlines):

I’ve got five universal gestures and symbols that better reflect the state of the Obama campaign and its supporters:

And here’s a bonus gesture in light of Obama’s latest dissing yesterday of America. Perfect:

***

Instapundit chuckles.

Dan Riehl plumbs hidden meanings. Hah.

And reader Jim M. e-mails: “In American sign language, the sign for ‘asshole’ is the circle formed with one hand. The new Obama sign can mean only one thing: ‘Big Asshole.’ If the sign fits…”

Jim Hoft: Stolen from Star Trek.

Ron Rockstar fixes the Obama gesture. Change I believe in!

    Now that i’ve got a few minutes…

On KOS, the front page lead is that the Dems are responsible for the price of oil going down. Basically, Feinstein is saying that they passed legislation to drop energy prices.

Though kos is usually crap, the site makes an interesting point thats found there…dems arent really taking credit for it.

From what i’m reading, it closed the enron loophole. Thats all well and good, but a few commenters there point out it closed the natural gas market problem. oil, not so much.

But it does beg the question…if they did that, why arent they screaming from the rooftops…unless there’s something else going on? :)

And as i’ve said before, and they note there, speculators are a problem.

Just possibly, it means that what investors refer to in shorthand as the great “oil up” story has finally revealed itself not as the fundamental reflection of scarce supply that its adherents liked to claim, but as a simple, speculative bubble that was always going to burst.

Good and bad. The speculation bubble is mostly right. The problem with that is, its not we’re claiming that we’re like 10 barrels away from being dry. The claim conservatives are making is, if there was more, the effect would be larger (and if we werent sending it overseas all the time, we’d keep more of our own product).

thought that was interesting though. if you can stomach it, link is here

Kokonut – there are a couple of variations on the sign:

The well-known OK gesture, when held with the thumb on top at the level of the chest means “asshole”, as seen in the film Mr. Holland’s Opus. Another variant is shown in the image on the side. (This gesture is similar to the American English idiom, “sit and spin”.)

The “sit and spin” is an old practically unused signed variant for “AH.” I wouldn’t even say it’s a regional dialect, maybe local for the older folks but certainly not of the younger generational types. Most of the time Deaf people simply flick out the letters “AH.” Sure, there are many “slangs” in sign language just as there are slangs in the spoken words. The thing is it’s the current generational use of a particular sign slang that’s in vogue or used often and not something that’s 40 years old. You got that “sit and spin” sign was from a Wikipedia entry. Wholly outdated if you ask me.

Okay Michelle come after me but this picture (Obama Zero) was too good not to lift and add to my blog. I think it should become a universal symbol for just how blind some liberals are.

Not to ba a smartass but you fell for the troll’s trick. He got you excited and fooled you into posting a serious response, to which he has no intention of giving any serious reply. This is one of his tricks and is meant to infuriate you. Don’t let him bait you! Take the don’t feed the troll pledge.

    At the Stadium.

Allright we have the gesture now, it will be 75000 strong.

Next, what will be done in place of Sieg Heil?, mabey Hail BO would work, imagine, 75000 strong.

And there is still two things missing:
    1. getting that many people to march in ranks using the “goose step” carrying torches.
    2. The magnificent spectacle of the flood lit vertical columns draped in black diplaying the Obama Logo(swastica or whatever it is supposed to be).

Talk about the height of arrogant buffoonery. Where is Charly Chaplin when you need him?
