As noted by See-Dubya last night, the oh-so-tolerant leftists have launched a campaign to send “WARNING” letters to potential GOP donors in a thuggish attempt to depress Republican fund-raising. A reader sent me a copy of the actual letter from “Accountable America”–the brainchild of the same MoveOn miscreants who spearheaded the General Betray Us smear. Look:
Ironies and hypocrisies abound. Let us count the ways.
You’ve got the nutroots brigade digging up the addresses of GOP donors to chill their political free speech while these same left-wing operatives and their followers label it “stalking” to publish public e-mail contact information for anti-war shills, or to Google Democrat donors, or to vet Democrat health care sob stories by actually reporting on their financial status.
When we do it, it’s intimidation. When they do, it’s “accountability.”

Freedom’s Watch Chief of Staff Joe Eule today issued the following statement in response to the formation of Accountable America, a new left-wing group headed by Tom Matzzie, and its intimidation tactics aimed at conservative advocacy organizations and donors.
“The creation of an organization whose primary purpose is to intimidate Americans into abandoning their First Amendment rights is a sad commentary on what now passes for legitimate debate on the Left. Tom Matzzie’s desire to invade the lives of private citizens – I suppose that makes him a political peeping Tom – is an affront to free speech and an attempt to stymie the freewheeling political debate that has long been the hallmark of our nation. With his latest effort, Matzzie has taken our politics beyond the gutter, right into the sewer, and I have a feeling Accountable America will backfire spectacularly.”

I don’t think anyone is going to take that Warning letter very seriously. It starts off Dear Republican supporter, and then talks about how liberal groups have disbanded. A letter that has no specifics in it isn’t very scary. I know I would just wad it up and throw it away. No recycling or anything.
I want one!!! I’m going to send them an e-mail telling them where to send my warning letter. We should all request one.
So if I turn Accountable America, Inc. in to these guys for having the primary purpose of influencing an election, do I get the 100k? Didn’t think so. So maybe we need to forward a copy of this letter to the IRS and the FEC. Not to mention the FBI, as a terrorism complaint.
Maybe someone should send a copy of this letter to Soros. He puts a lot of money into MOVEON.ORG and Code Pink. and I think both of them have a primary purpose of influencing elections.
I didn’t notice it until Ron Rockstar pointed it out, but they say they’re a “non-partisan…group”, but address the letter to “Dear Republican Supporter”. In addition to requesting my own letter, I’m going to request a copy of the letter they’re sending to “Democrat Supporters”. Since they’re non-partisan and all.
I wonder if the Obama donors in the Middle East got the same letter?
Obviously Accountable America forgot to send this out to Dem. donors. So change Republican Donor to Democratic Donor, print 10,000 copies and mail them out to their supporters, it’s our duty to keep them informed.

I went to their site. There are no physical addresses, no email addresses, no way to contact them for the $100,000 “reward”, no names… However, they are taking contributions. Maybe that is the “accountable” part.

Multi-part response …
1. Get enough people together that receive these letters and file a class action suit for billions against them for coersion and harassment … regardless of the outcome it would keep them tied up in court and cost them a lot of money they couldn’t use to keep harassing people with their threats …
2. Same group finds the right venue in the courts to file a class action law suit for discrimination … if it is provable they are only sending the letters to Conservatives I’d say you have a potential case …
3. Every person that receives one of these letters should file criminal charges against this group for postal service violations … fraud, veiled threats and implied representation of an entity of the US Government … all of those are federal crimes …
4. Every person files immediate complaints with local and federal election boards … keep them too busy fighting all of this all over the country to push their agenda forward …
Just think …
millions of lawsuits … each of which has to be responded to in every jurisdiction of this country …
How exactly is this “non-partisan” when it explicitly asks for information ratting out conservative groups only in order to collect some “reward”?

This is pretty sick. There’s nothing worse than having the Feds on your azz. Nobody beats the Feds. So they’re trying to apply the maximum pressure but by proxy. I’d hope the recipients regard this as you might an email starting “Dearest Christian Friend, I am Ali Ma Mohammed, a former high official in the government of Sierra Leone …”.

The best way to treat this is as a fund-raising letter for your favorite conservative group. I’m considering doubling up my donations by sending my usual presidential candidates donations to conservative groups instead.

Democrats lie to get elected.
