Joe Kennedy’s still snuggling up to Chavez
Great expose of the long and cozy relationship between former Massachusetts Rep. Joseph Kennedy and the Chavez regime.
For all his pro forma caveats about not endorsing every policy of the Venezuelan state, however, Kennedy nevertheless cannot manage to suppress his admiration for the so-called Bolivarian revolution, even if it is only our capitalistic consumption that makes Chavez’s 21st Century Socialism possible in the first place.
“[M]y goodness gracious,” he gushed to Business Week, “Hugo Chavez can quote Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln by heart.” …That a democracy is easier to run and elections easier to win when you blacklist the opposition, and legislative compromise a breeze when you decree laws voted down in popular referendum, is immaterial to Kennedy, who happily parrots the “CITGO, owned by the Venezuelan people” line.
I’ve stood outside the HQ of Venezuela’s nationalized oil company/ministry PDVSA. It is red-bereted soldiers as far as the eye can see, and rest assured they aren’t there to usher the hoi polloi upstairs to confer with the generals, the executives or the generals masquerading as executives. Even Chavez recognizes what a joke this is. A day after the infamous U.N. speech in which he called George W. Bush “the devil” and sent Noam Chomsky to the top of the literary pops, Chavez admitted during a visit to a Harlem church that his own people — you know, the heralded owners of Venezuela’s oil — might not be thrilled about the Kennedy-Chavez Oil for Praise program: “Some say I should be in the barrios of Caracas. Apparently I am giving away all over the world what belongs to Venezuela.”

As many of you know, Chavez split with his wife, who turned against him politically as well as domestically. He may be Venezuela’s caudillo, but he still has human needs. Accordingly, I give you a glimpse, thanks to YouTube, of a side of him few people ever see: Chavez after hours. I currently live in Nevada (Harry Reid’s not my fault – I didn’t live here when he got elected and he’ll probably get Daschled in 2010), but I defected from the Glorious Worker’s Paradise of the People’s Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I’ve seen Joe Kennedy speak. He has to be the dumbest carbon-based lifeform on the planet. Obviously a product of Kennedy inbreeding.
Kennedy might know some quotes from Karl Marx by heart, but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t know a quote by Jefferson or Lincoln if he heard it.
I figure he is preparing to take up the Kennedy mantle in the Senate, replacing Teddy *hiccup* Kennedy. He’s just trying to get his brownie points in with the lefties and other America haters, so he had his ducks in a row.

Christian Soldier I heard this on Rush when I was running some errands in town and have been fuming ever since. Lindsey Graham and the other 4 lying crapweasels have sold us, the Republican revolt in Congress, and McCain down the river in exchange for increased regulation (from the ACLU, PETA, etc.) and allowed to drill off shore of only four states, if they in turn agree. The only damn issue the “Stupid Party” could finally gain some ground on and in turn maybe craft a long term achievable energy policy, but no these 5 idiots have to make a deal deal to take the country out at the knees.

How not very surprising that a Donk can’t tell the difference between a fascist and a socialist. The implication is that when a Donk is thinking socialist, in his mind (loosely defined) he is dreaming of himself as a fascist leader.
France is socialist; UK, socializing; U.S., under the Donks may not be long; Canada… you get the idea. Chaves? No no. Venezuela socialist? Yeah, like the socialism of Amin’s Uganda.

OK, A.N., I’ll come clean. “Chavez” is actually Peruvian comedian Elmer Alfaro, who does bear a resemblance. Around 10 years ago, I stumbled upon “Risas Y Salsa” while surfing the cable channels and got hooked even though I don’t speak Spanish, since the slapstick comedy had me laughing out loud. Now, some of the skits from that show are being posted on YouTube. Meanwhile, another more recent comedy show from Peru, “El Especial del Humor,” has been mercilessly spoofing Chavez as a laughingstock, treating him much rougher than any American show has done. Nor have they been any gentler on the Brothers Castro, portraying them as doddering geezers. Given that, there is some measure of merit in Obama’s call for us to learn Spanish, though this is not what he has in mind.

It all public records and this little compay may a HUGE fortune from this small investment.
