John McCain cheated on his wife, too.

And he got nominated. So... what's up with that?

RetFireman - Then why are you defending adultery for McCain and claiming it's different in his case?

You're a hypocrite and your morals ARE questionable when you defend someone who has committed adultery, especially someone who has committed it against a woman who was maimed and had cancer.

Everytime from here on out that you attempt to claim the moral high ground against a Democrat, think of this and remember you're no different. You should be condemning McCain's actions in this if you condemn Edwards. Anyone who condemns the actions of one of them without comdemning the other is a hypocritic. Period.

Joy, I empathize with your pov on McCain, I honestly do, but are you prepared to accept the consequences of your anti-McCain stance?

Unemployment is likely triple, once Obama doubles the capital gains tax, which he has already said is among his priorities, and consumer prices for food and fuel will go even higher than they are now.

Wasteful government spending and interference will increase exponentially under an Obama administration, with new and widened social programs and services.

National security will be compromised, even weakened, as an Obama administration will drain our military's budget, to offset his social spending, and lower their morale by deploying our soldiers to be the world's modestly armed social workers.

A third war in Iraq will be a given if Obama "re-deploys" our military to Iraq's perimeters, as he suggested he will do shortly after assuming office, leaving the Iraqi people vulnerable and at the mercy of Iran.

I appreciate your concerns about McCain, but there is too much at stake not to vote for him. I ask that you please reconsider your position as just four years of an Obama presidency would prove disastrous.

These women (and this includes Michelle Obama) all marry these men for a reason and it's not their looks. That they cheat, well, it's part of the package. You can say what you want about these gals, but stupid, none of them are. I will say that the Obamas are the Clintons - only black. Both (and I use that term because they work in tandem, so I'm speaking of two units) see themselves as royalty - they may differ slightly on the politics, but they view themselves the same. I don't want another "team" in the white house. Neither 'team' is royalty in my book, they are servants of the people even if they don't see it that way and believe they do not see themselves as servants to anybody - Bill and Barak's arrogance are proof of that! Jeeze, not to mention these women who marry them.

Oh, and his wife is in on the whole thing. She may not have wanted any of this to happen, but she is wheeling and dealing right now just like her husband.

This is an interesting social phenomenon: Why would Hillary Clinton, Edwards wife and Elliot Spitzer's wife be so willing to put up with these insults-these women with no exception could ditch their husbands and financially make a good living-and find new loves...but they don't...why?

Is it because in their minds they are so strongly attracted to the aphrodesiac of power that they feel unable to leave its grip? Is it because they value the shopping trips over their own honor?

What say you the reader?

I could never believe most of what came out of John Edwards' mouth over the past eight years, receiving paychecks from a hedge fund to "learn more about poverty," or "there are over 200,000 homeless vets sleeping under bridges every night," etc. And now this.

To answer your question, Edwards' quick and adamant promise of submitting to a paternity test last night gave me the impression that his mistress' bought silence was already in the bag.
