Draft your own DNC schedule
I feel an avalanche of parodies coming on. The DNC has e-mailed its convention schedule:
Monday, August 25 — One Nation
Monday’s headline prime-time speaker will be Michelle Obama.
Tuesday, August 26 – Renewing America’s Promise
Senator Hillary Clinton will be the headline prime-time speaker on Tuesday night.
Wednesday, August 27 — Securing America’s Future
The Vice Presidential Acceptance Speech
The headline prime-time speaker on Wednesday will be Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential Nominee.
Thursday, August 28 – Change You Can Believe In
I’m reminded of that joke DNC schedule that’s been floating around for years.
Time for a fresh update, don’t you think?
Give it your best shot!

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich says his role at the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Denver will be in the men’s room.
Blagojevich joked with reporters at the Illinois State Fair on Saturday, deadpanning that he is booked to speak at four in morning in a men’s room at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center.
With his public approval rating sagging and dogged by federal investigations into corruption within his administration, Blagojevich did not directly reply to a question about how he might help presidential contender Barack Obama at the convention.

2:00PM – Bill Clinton and John Edwards host a seminar: Deny, Deny, Deny – How to Cheat on your Spouse in the National Spotlight
If all the corrupt Dems with low approval ratings didn’t show up, it would still be a rousing success and a mandate for change according to the MSM.

Let’s not forget the mass abortions sponsored and performed by Planned Parenthood, followed by the mass surgical sterilizations sponsored and performed by Planned Parenthood, Greenpeace, and PETA.
After intermission, there will be a demonstration of gay sex fetishists performed by representatives of the Folsom Street Fair.
Why do conservatives always have to attack gay people in one way or another? That joke DNC schedule would have been funny were it not for the utter and disgusting disrespect it shows the right wing has for gay people. That kind of hateful and destructive nonsense is what drives so many away from what it really means to be a conservative.
Can anyone explain to me why it’s a-ok to insult gay men and women simply for being gay and wishing for rights that everyone else has? I honestly don’t know why The Log Cabin Republicans or GayPatriot even bother with conservatism when those who are supposed to uphold conservative values take joy in such blatant disrespect to gay people.
Monday 8/25 – Opening ceremonies with white flag waving.

nbarry, not enough Pepto-Bismol in the house to sit and watch it. Personally, I think the appropiate opening ceremony should be “burning of the flag”, followed by a parade of environmentalist groups, moveon.org members, the reading of the Karl Marx manifesto, ending with a tribute to Joseph Stalin, followed by a welcoming speech by Chavez.
Don’t forget the day before the convention when the Islamic radical appears at the interfaith service.
Can’t forget the real friends of the Democrats.

Wednesday August 27th: Securing America’s Future
George Soros presents his empty suit for VP.
Thursday August 28th: Change You Can Believe In
The entire entourage of MSM anchors who documented his trip overseas will relate how to bring about change by using the biased reporting technique they learned from their Marxist professors.
During breaks, Paul McCartney’s “Dance Tonight” will be playing to remind everyone that they should not be addressing issues with candid remarks.
A better question would be… how is a joke about gay sex fetishists at the Folsom Street Fair an attack on all gay people?
Get some thicker skin, a sense of humor and take some responsibility.
I have no need to watch this gag fest, but will try to stomach as much as I possibly can.
Attack? Were any gay people shot, stabbed, strangled, beaten or bludgeoned by the joke? It’s a joke, and not a very good one. I would say that Ted Kennedy fared worse than gays.
Perhaps sexual orientation is only one part of their lives. Maybe they have more in common with other conservatives than with people whose liberalism is less about freedom than about libertinism.
Friday August 29th: The whole party gathers to clean up the mess left by the excrement throwers. No wait, they will get their illegal alien buddies to do that!!
I understand why they are conservatives; they’re clever enough to realise that’s the better option. But conservatives really have a disgusting attitude when it comes to gay people, so it does make one wonder why they would want to be associated with such a movement.
One of the reasons I like this blog is because Michelle Malkin doesn’t seem to be the sort of the homophobic, hateful bully that’s oh-so-easy to come by with conservative blogs.
Congratulations on your first comment. A funny one at that. Also thanks for letting us know the British were coming.
Could have sworn I had heard that Billy Boy was speaking on Wednesday night … guess they cancelled his speech when they heard that John Edwards was also going to appear …
He was going to be introduced by Britney Spears … the title of his speech was
“Oops … I Did It Again” …
Gotta love those single issue voters.
That’s not politically correct. You need to change the “Grey Goose” to “Absolut”
I can hear it now – America, God Damn Amerikkka – you don’t have a chance.
Immediately followed by a group flag pin toss, just to show your patriotism.
“Utter and disgusting disrespect” to gay people consists of mentioning the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco? Google it and you’ll see they disrespect themselves and society in general, IN PUBLIC. Caution: it is NOT “family viewing”. It’s actually not fit to view at all.

Thursday, August 28 – Apologies to the City of Denver. The Riots Were Not Our Fault.
It’s not that conservatives hate gay people. We hate whining people who think they have some right to cram their agendas down our throats or think that it should be mandated at schools to teach that this is an acceptable alternative to our kids.
Don’t play stupid, you know full well the intention of that comment. It was meant to make a general statement about how terrible the gays are. Otherwise, why didn’t that poster mention Mardi Gras in New Orleans where straight people behave in an appalling way in broad daylight? The point was obviously a dig at gay people and I’m growing more and more disillusioned with the amount of gay hate on conservative blogs (especially since a gay couple moved in next door and both of those guys completely and utterly dispelled all of the myths about the evils of gay people that the conservative agenda so regularly pushes).
Also, my original comment was not only in reference to the Folsom Street Fair snide remark, but was in relation to the gay baiting in the DNC schedule parody that Michelle Malkin linked to in her post.
Pick one.
How can you dismiss the gay couples who wish for their relationships to be recognised by the law (just as my relationship with my wife is) as “whining”?
Why shouldn’t schools preach tolerance? Like it or not, gay people exist and the children of today are absolutely, definitely going to meet a gay person or gay people in their lifetimes so why is a bad idea to instil a compassion and understanding for these people?
Now, please tell me you don’t seriously believe that it’s a choice? I mean, I know for a FACT that I could never “choose” to be gay, and that’s regardless of how many people tell me that being gay is ok or how pride parades I see. It’s not like it’s something that can be “promoted”, so why bother promoting a intolerance of it?
OMU, the fact that you compared the lewd conduct taking place at Mardi Gras to the Folsom street fair as being somehow equivalent is ridiculous. Try again.
By the way, just because two gay men moved next door to you and behave themselves and kept their sexual exploits private, doesn’t erase everything else that is going on in this society regarding gay rights etc.
Testing login.
you do have the same rights as everyone else.
It just seems like a ridiculous double standard. Straight people can conduct themselves in a lewd and offensive way in public (like at Mardi Gras and various Spring Break celebrations) but when gay people do it, it’s then unacceptable. Why isn’t it always unacceptable?
What exactly do you mean?
I’m sorry everyone, I think OMU is trying to steal this thread and I’ve helped by responding. It will not happen again.
Paul Revere, Welcome to the blog and good first comment. The DNC would also show a slide-show after the one minute “why I’m proud to be an American” slide-show titled “America, we apologise to the world”. The only problem is that it would last all night.
Omu, the horse is dead. You can stop beating it now.
Yes, I seem to have gotten carried away with that. I was just outraged about the gay hate in this thread and in that joke DNC schedule that was linked to and the issue of gays being persecuted by us conservatives is something that I had been thinking of lately. Again, sorry!
Good choice, rbb. I went with a more expensive option as elitists like the Obamas would doubtless drink, but your name probably fits better
Omu, I will address my comment here, I would thank you to not put words in my mouth.
the point about the comment concerning the gay sex fetishists from the Folsom street Fair is about the “fetishist” part. I don’t care a whit whether you are attracted to a man, a woman, an inantimate object. I don’t care if your think is getting beaten or doing the beating. I don’t care if you think that the proper way to love and care for another human is to chain them up and beat them like a misbehaving dog, or make them wallow in their own (or your) feces. If the two (or three or more) of you are ok with it, it is not my place to judge as long as no children or animals are harmed in the pursuit of your kicks and I’m not forced to support your actions in any way (such as free HIV drugs to take care of that little infection you got from an anonymous fluids donor at a gloryhole). But it is another thing entirely to march along in public, having sex and beating each other in broad daylight.
Gays want equal rights, hey I’m down with that, but let’s keep a little sanity here too. Heterosexuals generally speaking do not parade naked as a jaybird and have oral sex on the stoops of apartment buildings in yearly public orgies. (Marti Gras in NOLA not withstanding, I don’t condone that either), but go to any gay pride parade anywhere and you’ll see such antics, in front of children more often than not too. When Gays figure out that trying to shock the public onto submission and tolerance won’t work, then they will start making real strides toward acceptance.
This will be the last and ONLY clarification I make. I will not hijack this thread any more.
Both ARE unacceptable. Now explain how its somehow ok for one of these to be taught to my kids, for me to be bashed for saying its unacceptable, for it to be crammed down my throat as a civil right, and for my views to be censored?
I’m a conservative lesbian and I hate how all of my left wing contemporaries think this phrase is an oxy moron. What does my sexual preference have to do with my stance on the economy? I’m an American before I’m a homosexual.
The biggest problem with my political party is their stance on gay rights and gays in general. I don’t understand why gay issues bother people so much. What’s the big deal? We’re all over the place and you may not like us, but you have to accept us.
Monday, August 25 — Tribulations of serving the Obamessiah

Thursday, August 28 – The Obmessiah comes to save the world.
Wednesday,August 27 – The view from under the bus. Including speeches by Re. Wright, Obie’s Granny (the white one), John Edwards and wife and many other surprise guest speakers.
One could say the same for racists, does that make it okay? I run across idiots all the time, that does not mean I have to condone the stupid things they say and do.
I am frustrated at being called a bigot and hateful just because I profess my Christian beliefs that they are living a sinful lifestyle. Of course if I really didn’t care about them, I wouldn’t say anything at all. I’d let them continue drowning in their own sin.
I don’t hate them. I hate their sin… the perversion of sexual desire that God gave us. I hate the shameless promotion of sexual antics. I hate the
educationindoctrination of my children to promote a sinful lifestyle. But I pray for them, like I pray for all of us sinners who need to turn away from our sins, toward God.
Dude – we don’t need you’re prayers.
your*
If a person defines him/herself by his/her sexual inclinations, then no, I don’t have to accept them. When I was growing up we all knew that Elton John was a homosexual. Nobody really cared. That was until he couldn’t open his mouth without condemning straight people and becoming a tool of the left. We only have to accept what we want to.
During the DNC convention, there will be many ongoing seminars you can take advantage of. I suggest: Turn you flag pins into plowshares. Since many (most) of you don’t already own a flag pin, they will be provided at the door.
What are you talking about? No one wants to teach sexual fetishes to anyone’s children. Honestly, I am confused by this response. Are you saying that homosexuality is intrinsically tied to sexual fetishes and public nudity or something? Well, it isn’t – at least not in my understanding.
OK, I’ve got nothing, I’m tapped out. I give up.
Must resist….but alas I cannot.
It would appear that YOU are the one making that connection by inference. Nobody else, least of all me, did. That would indicate to me that the person with the problem here appears to be you.
Hey, I know, what about that abortion thang? Who’s up for that? Here, I’ll start: Abortion is bad.
But you must accept – as I have, being a Christian – that Christianity and the Bible don’t run this country. Gay people have always existed and I’m pretty sure they always will. So telling them over and over again how hated they are isn’t going to turn them straight. Why not just be a grown-up about it, look at the facts and accept that, yes, homosexuality is sinful and those who practice it will have God to face, but that it is not destructive and that there is no logical reason to deny gay people the right to marry and adopt children?
But I must say that the zero population growth people are leading the charge to increase the aggregate intelligence of the human race by making sure the genes for stupidity are removed from their branch of the gene pool.
On August 11th, 2008 at 2:23 pm, a_jad said:
Dude – we don’t need you’re prayers.
A_jad, I’ll say a prayer for you anyway. Jesus Christ say’s we are to love the sinner, but hate the sin. I have nothing against you, I just don’t like what you do.
You don’t have to like it, but I’ll pray for you anyway.
You’ll hear no disagreements from me on that one. Abortion is absolutely wrong and unjust.
I don’t pretend to understand homosexuality fully, because I don’t. But I’m pretty certain that I don’t have a problem with it and that’s probably why I’ve spent the last half hour expressing my outrage over the rampant and despicable homophobia that rears it’s ugly head far too often over an otherwise decent, fair and clever conservative agenda.
Yes Rorschach, there will be less of them but they will be really smart. Kinda like those aliens with the big heads and veins pulsing.
Global warming is good. Global cooling is bad.

The gay marriage issue has nothing to do with being recognized under the law. It’s a bunch if whiners that want money. Under the law any gay couple may fill out Powers of Attoney like everyone else to have their other take care of them and make decisions if they should need. This crap that they can’t make decisions in hospitals is because they didn’t protect themselves.
They can collect on Ins policies if they choose to make that person a beneficiary.
The only thing they can’t collect is SS benefits when the other dies.
This is just another nminority demanding rights that don’t belong to them. When you find that marriage is a right in the constitution please get back to me I would love to see it!
The feds don’t belong in the sacrement of MARRIAGE!
Well dang. I thought I had the power of the troll, but I guess not. I thought I could just willy nilly change the subject and everyone would follow, but no.
But the point is: what harm is there to allowing gay couples to get married? There isn’t anything to suggest that it would somehow “undermine” any one else’s marriage or the institution in general. There’s no proof to say that gay couples make bad parents (and quite a lot of proof that shows they’re equally as good at raising children). Allowing gays to marry would ease the strain on the adoption system, would encourage monogamy among gay men, would mean that gay teenagers who are terrified of the fact that they are gay would know that they can have all the rights and benefits their straight friends have waiting for them. And the whole ‘opening the door to polygamy etc.’ argument seems to me like nonsense because gay people aren’t asking to re-invent what marriage is, they only want to be included in the current marriage system.
Really, I think a lot of conservatives have some growing up to do when it comes to this issue.
Gay marriage? Perhaps in some form or fashion (most likely civil unions, the word “marriage” has too many religious connotations to ever be accepted), but adoption? I’m not so sure about that. Remember the part about harm to children? How can growing up in a homosexual household not affect how the child relates to others or views his or her own sexuality? Homosexuality appears to have a number of risk factors, not all of which are biological. Many are emotional. for instance the incidence of sexual victimization in childhood amongst gays, both male and female, are much higher than those who are heterosexual. Now does that mean being raped as a child is a sure-fire way to ensure the child grows up to be gay? No it is not, but it happens more often than not. Different ages and stages of emotional development are more susceptible to it, as are different personality types. And of course there are potential biological factors in play as well. There may not be a “gay” gene, but there would appear to be multiple paths to the same result. Many of those paths would appear to be emotional/developmental. Exposing a child to that cannot be good for the child’s emotional development.
I will say that of the small number of gay marriages/civil unions that have taken place, a large percentage of them, especially male, have a very high rate of divorce/annulment. This would indicate that the emotional connection amongst many gay couples is not as strong as that of heterosexual couples. That is not to say that the emotional connection amongst heterosexual couples is anything to brag about thanks in large part to half a century of having the foundations of the familial unit destroyed by democrats and their anti-family agendas. Since divorce is so common amongst gay couples, much moreso than for the general population, we have yet another reason why adoption is a bad idea.
#81 OMU
The point is that this country, laws and values were created on Judeo Christian values even though most of the founders were Deists. Gays don’t need to be married to adopt.
Marriage is a religious sacrement and MOST ALL religions don’t honor gay individuals it is against GOD!
I think most of you libs need to grow up and take off the rose colored glasses!
You’re going to have to back all of that up in some way, Rorschach. A lot of what you just said seems entirely made up to me. In fact, I just googled “gay divorce rates” and every single article that I found seemed to indicate that the gay divorce rate is either equal to the straight divorce rate or significantly lower.
We both know that children are best raised within the institution of marriage. This, I’m sure, applies to gay couples too.
And those values have served us well. But I’m almost certain the founding fathers would be disgusted to know that their emphasis on Judeo Christian values would be corrupted in such a way as to deny a great many people basic rights.

#85 you need to go back to remedial civics class.
Believe it or not MOST of the country still believe in those Judeao Christian principles you’re the minority…….
If the states choose to let gays marry that’s where it should reside because marriage licenses reside in state laws not Federal.
And you don’t need to be married to adopt get out of Mommy’s basement and look around.
Well, what harm is there in letting me marry my mother? If Marriage is something I can define for my self, then I can choose to marry whoever I chose: My mother, my brother, my sister. etc. Who is to say anything different?
Given that the issue is very new and the laws regarding same sex marriage and divorce are still being worked out here in the US, I doubt that there is much int he way of studies done yet, however according to this study in Sweden,
Male same sex divorce rates were 50% higher than heterosexuals and female same sex couples were 167% higher. (I stand corrected.)
http://www.narth.com/docs/sweden.html
And in this study:
http://www.narth.com/docs/studiesofinterest.html
Homosexual men reported that 46% of them were homosexually molested as children and 22% of lesbian women reported the same compared to 7% of heterosexual men and 1% of heterosexual women. Now granted this study is based on self-reporting and coincidence does not equal causation, but the numbers do infer a lot.
You’re own comment a few responses down indicates that’s not so. Furthermore, all Christians are doing by coming against gay marriage is calling sin by its’ real name: SIN! Your friends took God out of class in 1962, and look where it’s gotten us. Bring God back!
well, it is obvious that if Hillary is speaking on Tuesday, she is NOT Obama’s VP..
I also thought that Bill Clinton was speaking..wasn’t that also on Wednesday? Also, should the VP be chosen after the confirmation of Obama as President? So, we know his VP is not Hillary, but where is Al Gore? I do not see him on the schedule?
With Michelle Obama speaking at the convention, does this mean she would be another Hillary? OMG.. so if Obama wins, we can expect another Obama running to contend within another 8 years or so???
Somebody wake me up from this nightmare!
#90 – Rorschach,
You realise that the only sources you can find with statistics that imply some kind of inferiority with homosexuals are biased, anti-gay organisations. Just look at what NARTH stands for. If you can show me objective and non-biased statistics, then I’ll start believing you.
Speaking of non-biased stats, here is a report from the Netherlands (where gay marriage has been legal since 2001) that finds that the gay divorce rate there is identical to the straight divorce rate. Massachusetts still has one of the lowest divorce rates in the whole country and no one is predicting a surge in divorces in California.
As for the parenting aspect, check here, here and here to see that important organisations (National Adoption Center, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association – and there were more, but I have not the patience to link to them all) that endorse gay parenting. You’ll notice that these organisations have spent a significant amount of time studying these matters and not affiliated with any gay groups.
I’m not saying we as conservatives must accept homosexuality or embrace it, but if one looks at the bare facts, it’s clear that there is no good reason to deny marriage (or an equivalent such as civil unions) or joint adoption rights to gay people and to understand that simply making life a lot harder for gays isn’t going to make them go away.
The study referencing the incidence of molestation among homosexuals was performed by the California School of professional Psychology in fresno California. it was not sponsored by NARTH, Narth just published the results. you can read about the study here:

and another on the impacts of age and the relationships of rapists on the sexual orientation of rape victims.

I hear that Chris Matthew’s leg will introduce the VP nominee.
So no one noteworthy is speaking on Thursday? The last day of conventions are usually dull, anyway. Everyone can go home Wednesday night.
That is not, even by the vaguest definition of the word, a “study” on gay parenting. The links I gave were studies, that is merely an arbitrary comparison.
I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make here.
If you want a war of statistics, then I’m pretty sure I shall win (if the last ten minutes searching through Google are anything to go by). By and large – it seems – the overwhelming majority of studies carried out to investigate whether gays can make good parents have concluded that yes, they can.
I sincerely hope you do not think you are being clever with this common and infantile response.
Like I already said, gay couples are not asking to reinvent marriage, they just want to be included in the current marriage system.
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Psychological Association are both extremely liberal as well, so the sword cuts both ways now doesn’t it? I too could spend all day pulling up studies that back up my thesis as well. But that probably will not convince you because you have closed your mind to any other result.
Look, it is clear I won’t ever be able to convince you regardless of the studies I come up with. You wanted me to back up my assertions and I did. You don’t agree with them? I could not care less. Go on living in your liberal world. I care not.
#97 His response wasn’t infantile…It would open up what I like to call
“Laws of Unintended Consequences” you liberals never think about those laws until the laws take effect!
There is already a loophole in the CA marriage law that allows poligamy!
Get your facts straight. Thanks For Playing
What makes you think that? What need of politics do scientific and socio-psychological research organisations have?
No, you could not because there is an extremely limited number of ’studies’ that conclude that homosexuality is bad in one way or another.
Does this not apply to you, too? I have given you many, many more sources to back up the idea that homosexuals are as sound of mind, and as capable of parenting, as straight people are; yet you continue to rely on a vaguely-worded, wholly arbitrary experiment you call a “study”.
Respecting gay people, and adhering to solid facts is not solely a liberal pursuit!
I’m guessing that you are making this up. And I would question your understanding of polygamy when you cannot even spell the word correctly.
In any case, it’s ridiculous to take the approach that “well, we can’t possibly give gay people the rights they deserve because that might open a loophole for polygamists or incestuous relationships etc., and that would require even more paper work to sort out. So, sorry gay couples, your commitment to one another and love is less important than filling out some additional legal paperwork!”. I mean, seriously, what nonsense is that?
