Republicans had plenty of time to promote an energy bill. They passed several in the six years they controlled Congress and the Presidency. Those had little but pork and giveaways to oil companies.

One big reason why the democrats now control Congress. Of course, I’m sure most Americans would take them over this Congress anyday, as the Congressional approval ratings that are noticeably absent from the MSM and your and Rusty’s posts suggest.

Offshore drilling is just another giveaway that will do little about gas prices, not in one year, not in five years, and not in twenty years. Until Republicans stop focusing exclusively on drilling, there is no point in having a conversation.

There’s no point in having a conversation so Nancy Pelosi can go and promote her book and because the blue-dogs, the democrats who aren’t controlled by the far left, want LOWER gas prices. Pelosi, Reid and the far left WANT higher gas prices because they THINK that people will use less gas, when in reality, because of all the suburban development, they have no choice. The only other option is for people to not work, and you know what that means, LGM? No more federal revenue for your precious ACLU and GLBT groups which we shouldn’t fund anyway since all they are really doing is paving the way for Islamism to rule us all.

Democrats Obama and Pelosi have offered a compromise: we will accept offshore drilling if you accept some of our ideas. Republicans refused. That’s how much they care about gas prices.

“Some of our ideas” really means no drilling. The only compromise, LGM, was in the Senate because Saxby Chambliss and Lindsey Graham yielded to democrat demands.

I, for one, know that the blue-dogs will support drilling, that’s why Pelosi left town and why the brave and noble republicans still in the House are fighting for the people, not for left-wing zealots, such as yourself, who cannot even listen to their own advice.

You’ll have to do much better than that on here, LGM.

Russia just invaded Georgia, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to place stipulations on a bill for drilling, i.e. release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Er…Nancy, the SPR – “provides a national defense fuel reserve” and is for an “emergency” situation, e.g. the 1973-74 oil embargo.

BTW, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi…Russia has returned to power by drilling and using their other energy resources, whilst you and your ilk force America to be dependent upon foreign supplies.

If I didn’t know what he looked like, I’d say he was just screwing with us. Nobody can possibly be this unreasonable.
