The “Making Abortion Rare” hoax

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 12, 2008 12:29 PM

David Limbaugh sets deluded pro-life Democrats straight:

[H]ow can we reasonably expect a party, whose platform is supposed to mirror the agenda of its presidential candidate, to adopt anything but a “strong and unequivocal” statement promoting abortion when that candidate, in a moment of spontaneous candor, said that if his daughters made a “mistake,” he wouldn’t “want them punished with a baby”?

Are pro-life Obama supporters so selfishly hooked on a feeling — the euphoric state of Obamamania — that they’ll back Obama and his party in the most immoral crusade since slavery? It appears so.

Silly sheeple.

No reaction yet from the pro-life Democrats to the documents exposing Obama’s abortion lies.

Funny how I had the same discussion with co-workers at lunch, which included the usual “men and women in our armed forces are there because they have no other options” shtick.

Of course, the alternative is the liberals take over…then the Muslims. In which case, we won’t have to worry about liberalism anymore. Shari’a law will do away with all they love.

lgm reminds me of a poster on another board I used to frequent. He picks out ’sources’ based on the headlines that support his thinking, but fails to read anything past the headline. It seemed like 80% of the time the ’source’ ended up debunking his argument. The rest of the time the articles generally didn’t cite any facts to back up the assertion.

Keep posting. Nothing helps our side like your posts.

I didn’t give either of my daughters a choice, I put them on birth control as soon as they were fertile. I’ve seen way too many young girls’ lives ruined or restricted because of an unwanted pregnancy, there were even a couple of 12-year-olds in my children’s middle- class school system that had babies (talk about babies having babies). Any choice is a no-win situation for the girl whether it’s keeping the baby, abortion or adoption, because she is always left wondering for the rest of her life. I wanted by girls to have their childhood and a healthy future. And, yes, I’ve told her the truth, that what was originally an accident turned into a miracle.

On August 12th, 2008 at 3:33 pm, englishqueen01 said: No. To liberals, women who choose not to have an abortion are brainwashed and oppressed by pro-lifers.

Well, we all know the liberal mind-set! But I made a well thought-out and informed decision for my OWN personal reasons not because I was brainwashed. However, the reason that I’m pro-choice is that my mother DID have an abortion for almost the exact same reason I considered it (she got pregnant almost immediately after having me with my dad in the military and barely enough money to feed and house the three of us), but it was illegal at the time to have an abortion and had to have the procedure done in someone’s back room. She could have died! And I know that it bothered her to have had to make that decision for the rest of her life, but she wanted her healthy living child (me) to eat. My brother (5 years younger) was horrified when he was told about it, but it didn’t stop him from knocking up his 16-year-old girlfriend and ending up in a miserable marriage for 10 years.

When faced with a legitimate crisis like my mom’s, I wouldn’t want any woman to have to risk her life the way she did – so I’m pro-choice. I DO, however, think that any woman that uses multiple abortions as a form of birth control should be sterilized or, at the very least, mandatory shots every three months. An accident IS an accident and shouldn’t ruin your life, but idiocy shouldn’t be allowed to breed, period!

I am keenly aware of the homosexual agenda. When I was still living in Toronto, my first born (and first grader) brought home “My Two Mommies”.

After meeting with the public school hierarchy and getting no where, we elected to “choose” by checkbook to leave. Our kids have been pretty much enrolled in private schools since.

Needless to say, we are no longer supporters of funding the public school system through our tax dollars.

Remember, the first goal of the socialists communists is to gain control over the education indoctrination of your children. Don’t let ‘em.

Oh yeah…and 1950 was pretty much pre-contraception as well. In other words, the _only_ contraceptive available was abstinence. It appears to have been 3 times more effective than sex education plus contraceptives plus abortions.

Sorry Suek, but sex AND pregnancy DID happen in the 1950s and before. The only difference was that it was kept quiet and one of 3 things happened:

    1. The couple were quietly married (either the man took responsibility OR it was a “shotgun” wedding).

    2. The woman went away to “visit” an Aunt and went to an “Unwed Mother’s Home” until the birth and adoption of the baby.

    or

    3. The woman had the baby and the mother became the sister (the baby was raised within family).

Nothing was reported because it was a very rare if welfare was used in such cases and it was considered a private matter for the family to deal with if, in fact, anyone outside the family knew.

But it wasn’t encouraged, and people took responsibility for their actions more than they do today.

No matter the situation, abortion is never the solution.

You can’t possibly equate the level of unmarried pregnancies in the 1950’s and before with the current level. Even if it was kept quiet, there were still adoption records, etc…

Abortion is murder. It is the killing of a defenseless baby.

Sorry, but a person’s humanity does not hinge on his or her circumstances – or anyone else’s.
