Your MSM racial bean-counting contest
When I first glanced at ABC News blogger Jake Tapper’s post this morning calling on his readers to count the number of young, white women in the latest McCain ad — because, you know, showing Obama with young, white women is RAAAAACIST — I thought it was a clever parody of nutroots racial paranoia.
But no, it seems he was perfectly serious. And his unhinged commenters took the warped ball and ran with it:
McCain’s campaign is so blatantly racist it isn’t funny. They obviously are employing Spike Lee’s theory of fear of the big black johnson.
***
Glad to see you catching on, Jake. Of course they’d feature white girls as a code for “black man wants your white daughter.” This is not rocket science, it’s subliminal messaging 101.
When McCain chose (he is responsible for any actions of his staff) Paris and Britney as two celebrities in the “Celebrities” ad when Oprah and Tiger are the two most well-known people in the U.S. while Paris and Britney are approach has-been status, you know it’s because comparing Obama with two amazingly talented black persons doesn’t convey the message intended. With Paris and Britney, “sex with white women” is the message. With Oprah and Tiger the message would be “Jeez, black people are brilliant.” Not the message McCain particularly wants to convey.
We are talking about dog whistles and coded racial messages. It’s blatant and it’s real.
***
McCain campaign trying to get their money’s worth of all those focus groups on how racially biased they could go w/ their ads.
The ad was pulled, but not because of the Leftist grievance-mongering. As Allahpundit notes, incompetent or oblivious boobs in the McCain campaign infringed copyright by including a clip of Wayne’s World in the ad.
But back to the subject at hand: If Tapper wants to play racial bean-counting games and make insinuations of bigotry based on them, let’s turn the tables.
How many black on-air reporters and marquee bloggers and “senior national correspondents” does ABC News have covering the presidential campaign?
Searching…high…and low…can you find them?
And what does that say about the attitude of ABC News towards black reporters? Huh?
I infer that ABC News believes black reporters are not as capable as white reporters!
I infer that ABC News is subliminally instructing its audience to distrust non-white journalists!
I infer that ABC News management does not believe that black faces are as attractive as white faces!
I infer that ABC News hates diversity!

Funny. The ads featured white women expressing their desire for a black guy, not the other way around. O doesn’t want them for anything but their votes. Definitely projecting his own racism onto McCain.
The analysis is also disgustingly misogynist. Tapper implies women do not own their own sexuality, that women shouldn’t be allowed to choose their own partners. Even conservatives believe women can and should control who they spread their legs for–what century are we living in, again?
All your white grlz are belong to Obama.
This stuff drives me crazy. What would the article claim if there had been black women in the ads? “McCain is trotting out all the bad black women he can find to scare the voters?” Seems to me the MSM is the racist here; always inferring racist intent. Or do we have to make sure we have equal numbers of white, black, brown, red, yellow, green, pink and blue in every ad?
ABC has censored my comments since early AM, August 12th.
So … I will post them here.
Hey Jackaxx er Jake ….
You mean like all those stupid white women that get placed behind the leading Marxist presidential candidate for his various speeches, town hall meetings, interviews and photo ops?
Fake but accurate; slick, sleazy & shifty but NO substance.
DO NOT pass GO, DO NOT collect $200; just go buy a clue.
Please, Adam Sandler wants his due…
You’re trying to be Jonathon Swift. It’s not working.
Right after 9/11 and the “Authorization of Use of Force” declaration passed in Congress, I got a call from a good friend in military intel. His analysis: “we just lost the war, and it hasn’t even begun.”
No democracy ever wins a sustained “hot” war with its civilian populace at peace and its soldiers at war (Korea, Vietnam).
Bush should have asked for a true Declaration of War. Then the damage caused by Code Pink, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, et. al. could have been dealt with in proper fashion, WWII style.
By failing to request this, GWB sowed the seeds of our country’s destruction, which, at this point, seems imminent.
‘
In respect to that, I’m not sure i’d go that far.
while i completely see, and on a level agree, with what you’re saying, making things sound that grim doesnt help.
Can we win the war on Terrorism?
No.
The best we can do is contain it, stay a step ahead, and prevent as much damage as possible.
Now, in relation to the topic.
When people cry racism today, my first reaction is to look at the situation and see if its justified. Far too often in our society, i believe people cry wolf with tags like this, in order to garner attention or sympathy, or to cast their opponent in a negative light.
Are there racists still? yes. And there always will be. Thats how it is. But saying everything that even remotely might be offensive is automatically racist is stretching the term.
Gosh darn it! Those uber smart Lefties have caught onto us again! (tin)Foiled again!
What the hell? Aren’t white girls good enough for black men? Blatant bigotry.
ABC’s enthusiasm for racial bean counting was limited to the McCain video it seems. The web master on the ABC blog site twice removed my comments which merely and unemotionally reported that in the dozens of campaign photos on the official Obama web site I was able to count only 18 blacks. There were hundreds (thousands?) of whites, maybe 6 Asians, no notable Hispanics and none dressed in the mode of a certain religion.
Late this morning (long after traffic had waned)they finally posted a version of my third message that they had severely censored.
So much for seeking the truth, eh ABC?
Not unlike the SF Gate controversy about censorship, ABC lets you see that your message is posted, but then within 15 minutes they will remove it or edit it. Oddly, even the most outrageous anti-McCain or anti-conservative comments remained untouched…
I’m still waiting for Obama to make another “did I mention he’s black” or “don’t look like other Presidents on the dollar bills” remark.
I know what you’re thinking, punk. You are thinking, ‘Can I get away with more race-baiting, or will the McCain camp have an effective retort?’ Well, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement… but as being successfully called on race-baiting is very powerful, and would blow your campaign clean off the rails, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?… Well, do ya, punk?!”
