    This mentality truly terrifies me. I worked in the inner city for over a decade and have been a witness to some of these types of extreme beliefs.     Brian, I have to disagree with you here. As someone who pretty much is only aware of mainstream hip hop (and really, how do you avoid it?), I think Kanye’s annoying for his ego and his general over-the-topness (to coin a phrase). But he makes some catchy songs. I agree that he’s not exactly the best rapper, but what he lacks in…poet laureateness (to coing another phrase) he makes up for in clever production. There’s a reason he bridges indie rock kids with hip-hop kids with rock kids and general hipsters — and all the rest.

     I’ve never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer but it’s really not neccessary to accuse someone, anyone of being “dumb-as-rocks morons.” I don’t think I need to tell you that people have a hard enough time just communicating face to face, let alone on an emotionally charged blog when all they have is the written word.

     Our humanity obviously hasn’t kept up with our technology. You are a perfect example of that. It would almost be necessary in some instances, for an individual to read each and every post to get the whole picture. Though I enjoy this blog immensly I don’t have the inclination to do that. A shortcoming on my part – now if I can just get to the point where I discipline myself not to post unless I’ve read everything at least once – we’ll all be better off. And if I can convince MJ of trying a different approach when making a point, her points will hit their mark a lot more often. With all that said..over and out!
