“Diversity” in Howard Dean’s Democrat Party

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 16, 2008 07:01 AM

Howard Dean slammed the GOP as racist this week, scoffing: “If you look at folks of color, even women, they’re more successful in the Democratic party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, in the [laughs] Republican party.” As Allahpundit reminds us, The Screamer has engaged in this racial demagoguery before. He’s done it despite admitting his party’s own lack of skin-deep diversity in Maryland, where GOP Senate candidate Michael Steele gave the libs a big scare. And he’s done it despite his own DNC leadership’s glaring lack of non-white faces. He says to look at the Democratic party to see that “folks of color” and “even women” are “more successful.” So, let’s look at the official Democrat Party leadership page and judge Dean by his own standards:

Looking a little pale there, eh, Howie?

Who’s at fault for allowing the DNC to create the Republican’s image?

    Ignorant people.

Dean lives in Vermont. Bordering Vermont (96.8% of the population is white) are Maine (96.9) and New Hampshire (96.0). These are the 3 states with the largest percentage of whites in the country.

When Dean was mayor of Vermont (there are several cities with a larger population, larger budget, and more diversity / complexity than Vermont, so that’s all he was in reality), it’s possible he went for days (weeks? months?) without even seeing people who weren’t white, let alone interacting with them. Ever seen a photo of Dean involved in a DNC function and chatting it up with local inhabitants in Detroit, MI or Durham, NC?

Dean is the last person who should be commenting about people operating in a vacuum comprised of “whiteness.” He’s the living definition of it.

At the risk of being unpopular, Dean is essentially correct. We are becoming an even whiter party at a time when the nation is growing increasingly darker. This presents us with a problem that Bobby Jindahl alone won’t solve.

All we have to do is get behind more minority candidates. We have to get more independents on the conservative side.

This is one of the major reasons I cannot vote Democrat anymore. I hate the constant reverance to race, the constant dividing us with race, the constant dredging up anger and resentment. It’s so damaging to our country and quite selfish.

I got an idea…why not focus on being the best people we can be? THAT will create a beautiful nation…NOT focusing on race.

Governor Joe Manchin is such a paragon of diversity. He must have thought that not enough women were earning advanced degrees from the state universtiy because somehow his daughter was granted a degree from WV University she hadn’t earned.

BO is half white, so how is it that he is declared a “Black?” Technically he is a mulatto - but I guess this is not as “cool” as saying he is the first black Dem candicate for Prez. But what is it that defines him as black and not white? There are caucasians with darker skin than BO so that isn’t it. It isn’t his big ears. Those who immediately ID him as black are using racial profiling - a checklist of “Blackness.” BO profiles himself.
Dean is a Major Azzhole - can you imagine him as your doctor? He’d tell you your tests show you have cancer then hit you with the scream/laugh. “You deserve cancer because you’re a racist white! Arrrrghhhh!” Thank God he is not treating patients now.

Seriously, the blacks in america need to make the DNC earn thier vote instead of just handing it over every 2 years.
