For those of you watching the Rick Warren/Obama/McCain show tonight, here’s your open thread.

Wake me up if anything interesting happens.
Like I said before, I’m not holding my breath…
***
Obama on abortion: It’s “above his pay grade.” What the…
Obama on which Supreme Court justice he wouldn’t have nominated: Clarence Thomas.
Disturbingly, commenters note, the Saddleback audience cheered.
RACIST!
(Update): Allah’s got the near-gaffetastic video of Obama’s Thomas remarks.
Mark Levin: “On Obama’s best day he can’t hold a candle to Thomas’s intelligence.”
***
McCain on when babies are entitled to human rights: “At the moment of conception…this presidency will have pro-life policies.”
Define marriage: “A union between a man and a woman. One man and one woman.”
Warren asks about California marriage preservation proposition and Calif. Supreme Court. “California Supreme Court was wrong.”

No wonder he never actually practiced law, could you imagine him in front of a jury.
Showtime, people.
#1 DAVID PETRAUS
#2 MEG WITMAN
Petreaus…good answer.
Wow he cracked a joke. People laughed.
All ready we have a winner, A complete KO
Well Laree, is g-ma allergic to his children or something, that her health can’t handle seeing them? If she’s in poor or even failing health, isn’t this a good opportunity to make sure they see her one last time? I affirm your sensitivity and hope for his being honorable, but then why publicize the visit at all? It was meant for some political purpose, I’m certain.
Sorry I can’t share your open-mindness about this man. I’ve seen too much, I s’pose.
John Lewis. Really? He’s already blown it.
PUT AMERICA FIRST!!!!!!!! AMEN BROTHER
Much more substantive answers.
How long does it take that guy (Obama) to articulate a sentence?? Felt like someone needed to slap him round the back of the head and say, “come on, spit it out already!” sheesh.
How is it a debate when they aren’t even talking to each other?
Amen, John on 1st wife – shows real contrition. Great answer on moral failure.
Good thing he read Warren’s book.
Glad McCain said we are better at helping others even though we aren’t perfect, but the AmeriCorps and other things I am not sure is the best way to go.
He brought up Rwanda that happened on Clinton’s watch, notice Obama only mentions Darfur.
McCain’s humor already makes him easier to watch!
My friends is on!
I missed the first couple of questions… blow drying my hair.
See the old man has a sense of humor.
He has experience, and it goes way back. I like that!
In the first 5 minutes, McCain has injected more humanness and genuinness into than BHO could have mustered if he’d had two more hours.
Mc is far more relaxed and confident than BO also speaking and articulating mcuh better
What an answer on Reagan & Beruit…
DRILL NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!
Offshore drilling. Good.
Yeah, that experience thing was a major coup!
Drill Now! Drill Here! Woohoo!
Offshore drilling! Yeah!!!
My goodness…I am almost becoming an enthusiastic McCain proponent…
Drill NOW!
VERY GOOD! DRILL NOW FOOLS!
700 Billion, Drill here, Drill now.
My cats do not know what to make of the beer. Finally decided they want no part of it.
Offshore drilling NOW… great — I can bleed my tires down to 50 psi
More like a lifetime.
If he’d change his stance on immigration (and I could trust him to stick to it) I’d vote for McCain.
I have not heard one ahhhhhh, uhhhhh, iiiiii, like the idiot Harvard grad.
Nuclear power…great. I clapped and my son did, too. Heh.
Go Nukes… even the pansy froggies can do that!
More jokes…
LOL
Drinking his milkshake…
::rim-shot::
Great French joke
Can someone please coach McCain on the overuse of ‘My friends.’ I can’t stnad it. Makes him sound like an idiot.
Nice to hear objectives… after an hour of platitudes
Not bad McCain… not bad.
Gut-wrenching decision – to stay in Vietnam.
Blame his friend Juan for that..
This guy has so much substance. I can’t imagine anyone not seeing leadership in John. I don’t agree w/ all his issues, but man what a difference from the first guy.
good answer on POW
is anyone running a applause meter??
Does Rick Warren look unhappy with the pace McCain is setting?
and this audience is from CA??
errrr, what was the frivolous answer Obama gave for the most gut wrenching decision. I forgot. McCain blew him away.
WAY more substance. Great answers too.
See? Age IS a good thing.
I wish I were a dead Democrat so I could vote for this guy five times.
The Vietnam story should be heard everywhere and often.
Evangelicals. Yeah, there are a few of us Republicans left in CA. Not many though.
Yeah, the whole “friends” thing is a bit much, I agree.
His sharing of his “code of conduct” (or was it “code of honor”?) in regard to staying in Vietnam with the other POW’s…very moving. Contrast that with Kerry, who shot himself in the butt on his way to the easy 3 injuries needed to high-tail it back. Zowie Ka-POWIE!
Oh yeah. I hope BHO does pick Kerry for his running mate. This will be fun.
JIMMYK-
Obama said ahhhhhh, uhhhhh IIIiiiii, oh yeah, my stance on iraq.
TX, most dead democrats wouldn’t recognize the party today.
Wow. Call me fickle but I am feeling positive about JMcC. for the first time ever.
I hope Obama is watching this.
Then again that egomaniac probably thinks he dazzled them.
or maybe it was snort coke and drink beer.
… damn … just … damn …
LOL that would be the kiss of death for Obama’s campaign.
Bring it!
If BHO garnered even a single percent more of the evangelical vote, I’ll eat my hat. I don’t think he fooled anyone who hasn’t already drank the koolaid, do you?
It seemed to me when everyone was applauding when they went to break Rick Warren was restrained.
Too true and not enough old school dems can see that.
NOPE
Solid point, BSR….can’t imagine Truman hanging out with Pelosi.
McCain…he’s doing a great job. I gotta hand it to him. I’m believing him. He comes across as very honest. I can’t wait for the talking heads to use clips of these men, side-by-side, in their answers!
BHO, a-BUH-BYE.
OMG. Can u believe this story this is soooo great!!!
His Christmas story made me cry.
moment of conception. no hesitation.
Amen… God is present in the darkest hour…. oops here comes abortion
Conception….YeS!
WOW!
again … damn … just … damn …
I know, Mercy4Me. GREAT story. As a believer, I got misty-eyed.
John McCain knows what abortion means.
Administration will have pro-life policies
Mercy, fightin’ back tears myself on that
Moment of conception.
Two Christians story.
One man, one woman.
I though this was about world view?
I am unhappy with his border views, but he is slaying BHO.
I’m in tears laughing so hard right now!
Absolutely! “When we speak of the rights of the unborn, we have to talk about appointments to the Supreme Court”.
Ka-POWIE! I may even add a McCain bumper sticker to my car….
Do we believe him when he says this about the beginning of life? Esp. when he was floating a pro-choice candidate a couple of days ago?
Marriage amendment coming….
vickisoup- Amen
Dems: How dare he talk about taking away a woman’s right to kill her unborn child! What hatred!
Oh, the irony.
OK, the big evil question now…
WHOAAAAAAAA
AMEN DEFEAT EVIL
He’s DEFEATING BHO… errr…. evil
Defeat it!
’nuff said
Ah…finally a real answer to evil.
Bin Laden.
Amen.
my friends, my friends, my friends.. dude, cut that crap out
Al Queda! That’s TWO good examples.
OMG, John has made my day! SOLID
John McCain can identify Evil, perhaps team Obama is taking notes.
Defeat it!!! If I have to follow Osama to the gates of hell, I will! Get ‘em.
“Defeat it.” BO never answered what we should do about evil.
“Radical Islamic extremism.”
Wow – thank you, McCain!!!!
I may have to register to vote after all…
Defeat it.
What did Barry say when it was his turn? I believe it was none of the above to Warren’s choices.
If McCain will cut down to two “my friends” per appearance I might change my mind about only voting down ballot.
McCain just became the candidate of HOPE for me.
IF he keeps this up.
